Good call nick!!! A Super Mighty Mini would out corner almost any modern car! I'm going with Nick on ths one, for sheer drivers car, I would have a Mighty Mini (and before anyone slates them, go in one first!!). Modern super cars mean nothing to me after yesterday seeing the pace of these cars round Castle Combe.

There doesnt seem to be this kind of issue when it comes to cars though, and thats 50x more expensive. With a car, you pick your engine, gearbox, colour and away you go. You dont get that feeling that you're driving "something special" yet you dont moan like this. Same with design. Seat Leon is a Golf, Mini is a Feista, Skoda Oktavia is a VW Passat, ect ect. So Deng has a lot of brands, so does General motors, but you dont go, "oh I would rather drive a thing I made in my shed"

Maybe we could try and get some Trials-forum mini parking or something ;) If anyone is going, look out for my car, the white clubman estate with black Wood & Pickett arches :D Hopefully see some of you guys there Andy

If you can find one for a decent price, which is difficult these days, look around at a few minis. They go like stink, you can be as hard as you want with them, yet they are still one of the cheapest cars to insure. I have an 1100cc Estate, so I can fit 2 bikes in the back, with alloy wheels, stage one kit fitted ect ect, and my insurance is £977 fully comp. Have a look through www.adtrader.co.uk for used cars in your area. When looking at cars, always check their insurance group. Just because they are a 1.0l doesnt mean they will be cheap. My 1.9 diesel fiesta was insurance group 2, when a petrol 1.0l fiesta was insurance group 4. Also, dont buy a van. Vans are covered under comercial insurance, which is significantly more than normal insurance, and things like fiesta/corsa vans offer no additional space over a standard hatch, with the disadvantage of having no rear seats. My other top tip when it comes to insurance, is buy an auto-trader, go to the back, and phone up the insurance companies with the smallest most pathetic adds. These small companies arent run by the government, so have lower premiums. Places like Norwich union, More than, Direct line are all government funded, so to get their money back, they have higher premiums. Also, avoid places that say "specialise in young drivers" as these just lure you into a false sence of security. You think they will be cheaper when in actual fact thay are a great deal more than others. Prime exapmle, "Hyperformance" specialise in 17-25yr olds, offering low insurance. Quote on my mini was £2700 TPFT, one of the highest quotes I got.

The tall alright seeming one! If he wants to get silly and technical over money, we will get silly and technical. I wasnt going to charge him for the punch cards, entry form photocopies ect, but if hes going to behave like this, I am now. we are going to show him that he cant just walk all over us!! The thing that gets me most upset about this, is he doesnt even seem to care or understand where the money is going. You would think most people would have some kind of compassion for this kind of thing. Oh and, if all else fails, the Daily Echo and all other newspapers will hear about this one!!

Now I probably shouldnt post this really, but I feel all who attended should know about this. Just had an interesting meeting with the council member (people who came the day before will know who I mean) about the money issue. Now he originally wanted to take £500 off of the profits to as a fee, which I felt was totally unreasonable. In the end, the number of riders was unknown so we agreed to half each, with my half going towards DJs memorial. Now we raised "£700", £100 of which was deducted for trophies and other expenses, leaving £600 remaining, therefore £300 each. Now mr council man isnt happy with £300 and has complained, auditing me, making me come up with all recipts, ect to prove my figures. He wants to take £500, leaving me with £100 to donate. Now this is totally unfair and going against a verbal agreement. I took my dad with me to the meeting today, and even he said that this guy is totally unprofessional in the way he opperates. He compained to me that he had to take 3 days off work to help the event where he wasnt payed, dismissing the fact that I had to take time off as well. My dads advice was to improvise, so we have fudged figures showing how we ony raised £500 therefore only giving him £200 on the 50% agreement. We are even going to ask for recipts from him as to where the money is used, and not going into his own pocket!! I would just like to hear some comments from you guys, so I can possibly relay some responses of the people involved, as hopefully you feel as disgusted as I do!! In my personal opinion I dont even see why I should pay 50% of what I earnt for charity considering the amount of help he really gave :)

I have 2 jobs, meaning I work 7 days a week. Any spare time I have is either spent on my bike, or seeing my friends. Im sorry but I honestly dont have time to sit and work it all out. If anyone else wants to do it, fell free, but like I say, I really dont have the time.

Roll on March  then the Ducati SS 750 comes out to play haha! But yea, any kind of Yamaha DT125, Kawasaki KMX 125, Honda SR 125 (harder to find road versions of), Suzuki RM 125 (again hard to find road versions) check out www.adtrader.co.uk for 2nd hand bikes in your local area. I would reccomend riding a 125 for a bit before taking your test. It will be a bit of a shock on weight and power ect. Even if its just for 6 months, its enough to get you used to handling a biger bike before you kill yourself on something like a 500

I found Norwhich Union Direct to be one of the cheapest for younger drivers. Your best bet, is to buy a copy of Auto trader, and call around the really small ads in the back. These places tend to have lower premiums. The reason being is the bigger companies such as Direct Line, More Than ect are all government run, and know that young drivers will pay as much as they need to to get insured. Smaller companies arent run by the government so can afford to offer lower premiums to get more business. It might be a long shot, but worth a try. Also, try to avoid ones that offer "insurance for the younger driver" as these tend to have again higher premiums. Hyperformance are one of the worst and they say they specialise in insurance for 17-21yr olds.

Just a quick clip filmed by Mitch Vidler of Ben riding sections 7 and 2 Right Click

Fred why are you being so narrow minded? The only reason everyone associates 24" with streety shitBMX is because of the frames out at the moment. They are all short jump orientated frames, so you are obviously going to find it more difficult to ride it on rocks and stuff. Just because its something new, why does it have to be put into a class straight away. It sems everything has to be defined these days. Oh mod is for hopp hoppy stuff, and 24 is for streety stuff bla bla bla. Someone who does manuals and stuff on mods just gets laughed at because they are not riding in the "defined" way which is just silly. I think its really cool and is a good link between the 2 wheel sizes, becuase thats the only difference in the bikes, the wheel sizes, not the way you ride them.

Yea just been talking to Nick on MSN. Neither of us were entirely sure. Hence why I started this topic. Theres lots of mini mad people on here so Im sure someone will have some idea >_<
-
Hey all Im wanting a new exhasut for the mini. Something like a Maniflow large bore 2.5 ect ect. My main worry is, I want a centre Exit on the clubman as it will look so much cooler, but being an estate, can you fit a standard centre exit exhaust to an Estate with the longer wheelbase? If all else fails, I can just get an Estate/Van side exit, but I really want to try and get a centre exit exhaust for looks. If anyone knows please help >_<

My mom got some decent photos of all the sections so I will try and stick them up here so you can see all 7 sections

Results will be up soon I haven't had a single day off yet since the comp so I honestly haven't had any time to see anyone/do anything let alone work out results as well. When I have some spare time I will work them out, but until then, patience is a virtue as they say  Trophies were given to 3rd 4th and 5th as otherwise I would have been lumbered with 30 quid worth of trophies and nothing to do with them. At least that way, someone got them, rather than them being a waste of my money, as they did come out of my own pocket.

Bournemouth is crap. Theres really not much you can actually ride due to the amount of people. Sandbanks and Poole are your best bet. Poole quay has loads of decent riding and one of my faourite local places, and sandbanks is good for rocks and stuff but the locals can get a bit shitty. Police dont tend to care too much as long as you arent in peoples way. Im riding Poole this weekend hopefully with Luke Edwards, so give us a shout if you are in the area

Bored, so thought I would do a caption comp using one of the photos my mom took during the NBR comp. No prizes, I just want a laugh....

Club level can be just as competitve as any other comp though. And anyway Worlds isnt a do-or-die competition either. You dont get thrown into a flaming pit of lava if you come second. Any comp is about proving to yourself and others how good you are. At the end of the day, the idea of comps is "to get through the section with the fewest number of dabs possible" so going at something and falling off/giving up isnt really the right srategy. Go to a comp, and watch an intermediate rider get through a section for their first time, without getting a 5, and you will see the happiness on their face. They achieved their goal of getting through the section with as few dabs as possible.

That ones easy. The coin is a fake coin made from metal, so its magnetic. On his hands, he has a magnet attatched to some elastic which is attatched to his coat sleeve, and held in place with a hook over his finger with clear wire. As he waves his hands over the coin, it gets attracted to the magnet, and he relases the magnet from his finger so it springs back into his sleeve. And as if by magic, the coin has dissappeared.

Just want to say how awesome yesterday was!! It went a million times better than I expected it to, and Im definitely glad I did it. Thanks to everyone who came and helped towards the cause, and an extra special thanks to all those who observed and helped out the 2 days before. We have managed to raise over £400 for DJ's memorial, plus I will add a little myself. So once again, a massive thanks to everyone for a brilliant day, and hope to see you all next year (Y) Offical results should be up later on, as long as I havent lost the bit of paper with riders numbers on :"> Andy

Oh sorry to hear from you guys who cant get the time off work (Y) Anyway, the sections are all set up, ready to be marked out in the morning. 7 Sections of 3 laps, so 21 in total, and the speed trials if we have time at the end. The sections are quite quick so I hope we will have time (Y) A special thanks to all the guys who helped out at the venue today, was a real aid in man power, and hope you all have a good time tomorrow!!!
