Whats The Strangest Thing You Have......
that NBR dude replied to trials_pimp's topic in Trials Chat
I remmember seeing that. Was that at NASS or am I thinking of a different news report. Someone did a drop from one of the blocks and tried to hold the front wheel just over his face, and got so close it was unbelievable!! I dont know what my strangest thing would be... Probably a blue trailer filled with straw and hay, but you know all about that Lee dont you :P -
When you go to checkout, at the top there are the 3 steps in purchase. It has a little symbol of a padlock by the 'Payment Details' and 'Oder confirmation' tabs, saying its on a secure server. Theres nothing to worry about on that site :P

Any decent motorbike shop should be able to sell you some nice thermal inners. I have some and they make a huge difference!. Think mine were about a fiver or something
-
Saturday or Sunday Dave? Might have to pop along, havent had a good natty ride in a while
-
Unfortunately No claims are non transferable from bike to car. Already tried that as I have 3 yrs NCB on the motorbike, but they said it doesnt count. It does bring it down slightly if you say you own a motorbike, but not a lot.

Bar work is awesome, as once you get to know all your regulars and stuff, you dont have to be all nicey nicey. You can act a bit more natural around people and join in with conversations, jokes and various other thigs. Its far more laied back than say a waiter where you have to be far more polite. I love taking the p**s out of my regular cusotmers hehe

Ebay is probably the cheapest place to get Firewire cards. Any old PCI card should do the job a treat, and most come with cables as well. Average price is about a tenner
-
I know you can "buy" them through BikeLab in Poole, as Clive has had a couple in his shop. They dont stock them as standard but Clive can get hold of them from Martyn. Clive and Mart have been mates for years ect so I think thats how he gets them

Those were the good days of trials. When people didnt care about wheelbases and styles. The TK videos (and the Sitrials ones as well) were the reason I started making vids! And that was a long time ago. Think I still have all the clips and long vids on my PC (Y)

Dont forget my chain and T-shirt Luke B)

Any battery with a decent mAh will do. Im using Duracel rechargable ACCU which seem to last a long time. DC1500 NiMH with 1800 mAh so something along that kind of miliamp/hours will do you fine

S**t dude thats harsh!! Like you say they are risky machines, and can claim a lot of lives. I think thats why they need to be treated with more respect and maturity. Seeing some of these people going round on their scooters like complete d**ks, they dont understand what can and does happen. Then they pass their test and hop onto the biggest machine they can find. I think things like this are eye openers to a lot of people and they realise they are actually drivng a lethal weapon

Kinda makes you think really. Im a motorbiker and seeing these kind of things is quite scary. From the sounds of things he was being a twat by doing a very excessive speed in the wrong place (not that there is a right place to do it). At that kind of speed, by the time you see something miles off in the distance, its upon you so fast you dont know what to do. By the time you think "oh dear theres a car there" you're already inside it. Hopefully people will learn from this

I stand corrected... Yea wheres Chris when you need him quick definition: A SLR is a single lens reflex camera. Light coming into the camera through the lens that takes pictures is reflected up by a mirror behind the lens onto a ground glass screen above. You look at this screen through the viewfinder and a 5 sided glass prism (a pentaprism) is used to turn the image the correct way round. Well known makes of SLR inlcude Nikon, Canon, Olympus, Minolta and Pentax in 35mm and Hassleblad and Mamiya in medium format. The mirror has to lift up out of the way before the picture is taken. Some cameras have used a partial mirror which lets some light through so the mirror does not need to move. Although not succesful for film cameras, this is very effective in some digital models.

A proper DSLR will allow you to alter exposure, apature, focus and various other settings with a wider scale of adjustability. The SLR lookalikes have very little in the way of adjustment. They are mostly just automatic point and clicks

I would say for £299, a Fuji FinePix S7000 is the perfect choice. You have the advantage of a 6.3 Megapixel camera, with a 6x optical zoom from a 32-110mm Lense. Its fairly neat and doesnt weigh the earth, unlike some 35mm SLRs. I would definitely reccomend this over a king.
-
I think the alteration is wrong. It should be a case of displaying what you can do with a camera, not what buttons you can click and what filters you can add. Where is the satisfaction of taking a crap photo and letting a program do what you should have done in the first place? If you got the exposure/composition/ect wrong, then try again until you get it right, not admit defeat and alter it with a program.

Beat me to it!! That is a cracking head unit, and offers everything that you specified. At some point, Halfords had this on offer, but I dont know if they still do. Anyway, I would say, on a reasonable budget, this is the one to go for. Excellent quality, 2 pre-outs (should your mom want to add a couple of amps/subs) and it looks clean and tidy as well.

go to Warehouse Express, as they have some cracking 0% finance options on all kinds of SLRs, DSLRs and various other items. Great for people on a budget, or for people who want to spread the cost to make it slightly more bareable. For that kind of price range, I would say add a bit onto that by doing finance, and go for something like a Sigma SD10, Mamiya ZD SLR, Pentax *ist DL If you want good pictures but without the need for a DSLR, have a look at the Fuji Finepix S7000, or the Minolta Dimage A200. If you want something to just slip into your pocket, but still a good range of megapixels, maybe something along the lines of a Casio EX-Z750, Canon Powershot A620, or for a bit more cash, the awesome Powershot PRO1 if you can absolutely stretch your budget to something like £60 a month, then have a look at Warehouse Express offer on the FinePix S3 Pro, with an 18-35mm lense (total price of £1589) which is a truely amazing camera. Hopefully this long winded essay of jargon and numbers helps slightly, but I really do suggest checking out that site :(
