Cheers, I didnt put it up with the intention of finding a sponsor here, just thought some of the more broad minded people of TF may appreciate it. I find making these more street/park orientated videos far more enjoyable than trials, I dont know why. Just seems to have more flow and style in them thanks for the comments anyway, even the completely unconstructive ones

The sequel to Rob Webbs first video, having since learnt some new stuff and grown bigger balls... video is made by myself, filmed for Rob to help get him a major sponsor

I have halflinks on my trials bike and my jump bike, and I've never had a problem with either snapping. I have a KHE Collapse chain on the trials bike (18:16 ratio) and a Reluctant Half Link Chain on the jump bike (26:11 ratio). Both chains feel really solid, and dont appear to weight much more than my KMC Kool. I know Nick Manning ran a Shadow Conspiracy on his mod, and never snapped it once. I would reccomend getting one especially if you have issues with chain tension. They have never let me down.

The Heatsink 4Bolt-Vee Brake adaptors have 3 levels of adjustment, so you can match them to any frame width or pad size, so you can always get the best set-up. I know plenty of people who run them and are very happy with them. click here for more information

Its where you have 2 very small rings, the chian is at a tighter angle round the chianring. Think of this at both ends, and you are putting a lot of force through a smaller surface area. take this as a very extreme example: On this incredibly large chainring, the chain is running round at only a few degrees, all the way round. Also, when you pedal, you have roughly 24teeth (assuming its a 48tooth for example) spreading the load of pedalling through the chainlinks Now take a 16 tooth Middleburn bash: The chain running around that ring will be at a far greater angle, due to it being smaller. Also, when you pedal, the force is going through roughly 8 teeth, so a far greater load spread across less area, hence they snap very easily.

I would highly reccomend the Heatsink bash for many reasons: The middleburn bash has an intergrated chainring, so when the teeth wear down, you have to throw the whole thing away, the Heatsink bash has a replacable chainring, so you can just replace the ring in time. The 18tooth setup on the Heatsink is also better matched gearing wise, as the 16tooth on the middleburn causes a lot of strain on the chain. The heatsink bash will put up with far more abuse, and is designed that it can be used, whereas the Middleburn bash looks very thin, and would disintergrate the second it comes in contact with a wall, and many people have found that a KMC Kool chain will not be totally protected due to the thickness of the chain extruding over the bashguard.

You dont get videos like that anymore. There was more than just hooks and taps, no one cared about going 0.56mm higher on a sidehop, everyone was having a laugh and enjoying themselves. What ever happened to that attitude? Shame I do remember this video from way back in the day, legendary! -
Wahoo joint with Dan! That makes me feel proud for 35mm SLR cameras everywhere! Heres my entry... Again, Nikon F3 35mm, 210mm lens, Ilford HP5 Film

From what I remember, you have to make a decision between disk or magura. There are 2 types of frame, as the disk version doesnt have Magura mounts, which seems mad to me but.

Those pink GU things were the best, they wore down in a matter of hours!!

I used to have the old mk1 python many years ago, which measured in at 1045 (silly long) and I was just under 6ft, and I found that too long. Best bet is to see if you can find someone with a short one, and have a quick go. Try to base your oppinions around frame reach ect, not around the componentry that they have, as that will give an indication of if its the right size for you, not how it rides, as yours will feel different with different parts on.
-
If you are 5ft3, I would suggest getting the short version. The longer one will have too much reach, and will make it more of a handful to chuck around.

If you want light weight, Giro E2 if you have the money. However, I'm quite liking the look of the new Fox Flux helmet. Check it out, might be what you are after, and something a little bit different from every man and his dog that has a Giro Xen

You need to do things like ensure your rim is clean, and that the pad surface is clean. You cant just expect everything to stay in pristine condition its whole life. A little care and attention, and you can have an amazingly powerful brake. You dont just expect your teeth to stay clean forever do you? Chances are its not down to the pad compound itself, but years of dirt and grime that needs to be removed. Anything from fitting the pads to adjusting the brake so everything is square can leave dirt, or oil from your skin on the rim surface

Heres a little tip, go to where the accident happened, and place lots of flowers at the scene. Hopefully the twat will drive past again, and feel so guilty that he/she will turn themselves in. It does work, and may help out getting some kind of justice. That really does suck though, looks proper painful!

Looks really nice, and good to see a Panaracer Fire XC as well!

The tune was as if he was trying to be shown as some kind of god. Ok hes a good rider, but its not like he has super powers, so maybe a more normal song would be better. The riding seemed good, from what you could actually see of it, apart from none of the clips were shown properly or in full, therefore had no clue what was going on, or where he was going. That just got irritating after the first 10 seconds Nice try, but not exactly a stunning solution to video needs...
-
Its interesting... Not sure on how well it will grip on wet rocks.... or its strength with front wheel gaps... Maybe a test video, just to put our minds at rest?

careful now, we dont want this topic ending up in Martyn Ashtons columb as well...

Ahh you legend! My original Pure AND my ES3 double disk!! Cheers dude, love you forever now
-
Haha yep, affriad they are Truvativ Hussefelts, just using them until my isis BB comes with a longer axel. If I had an XTR to put on the front, I would, but the disks is all I have lying around. Oooo if yous till have them, can you send me over MSN? I have a folder of my whole bike history (all 15 bikes) but the picture I have of my pure is really out of date.
-
thanks, I used to have one when they first came out. Remember how excited I was when I got it from X-street (thats how long ago it was haha) Just waiting on a few things from Phil like my rear wheel, BB so I can run my tensiles, and a few other bits, other than that, its ideal.

Well I tried to escpae from trials, but I couldn't. Unfortunately my budget was a bit tight, so its not the greatest, but it takes me back to when I used to own one! Its an old Echo Pure (yes it has a seat!) which I bought off "Mowgli" today, and its awesome, so thanks to him! Pure frame, Pure forks, Mono trial front brake, XTR Rear V-brake, Atom lab Atomic bars, Tensile cranks (will be next week), Hope bulb on Megamo rim
