Most Drilled Bike Ever. Tucana 2008 Edit: Cracks
that NBR dude replied to baladi's topic in Bike Pictures
I bet that rim wont even withstand being built. Theres virtually no materal left, its just going to fold in half the second you tension the spokes. -
Looks good, kind of goes well with the hairdressers car in the background...

Shh Dave, I didnt see the picture first time round

Oh crap, I knew it was wrong when I was typing it. Oh well, joke doesn't quite have the same effect now.

Amirite, isnt that a type of paint... does exactly what it says on the tin

Not being able to spell or read is one thing, but its when you know "how" to spell and read, but what you are seeing on the paper differs from whats actually there. Its like those pictures where when you look at it, 90% of people will see a Vase, but 10% will see a face. The eyes and the brain work with each other differently, which is where you get the problems.
-
Hit the nail on the head with that one. Ive spoken to people who've gone "oh yea Im dyslexic, because I cant spell properly". It seems to be this common misconception that if you cant spell, you're dyslexic. Could it be that you just... cant spell?? The problem with dyslexia is no matter how many times you read something, it will always read the same. I was reading something out loud once and it said plot, but I was sure it said Pilot and kept saying to the teacher, "noo it says PILOT" and getting myself really confused. I couldn't read this word as plot, no matter how many times I looked at it

Thats one thing I do that annoys me the most and stops me reading books. I'll read the same line again and again because I cant go on to read the next one. The worst thing was in English classes where you used to take it in turns to read a book out loud. I always used to look away when the teacher was selecting people, otherwise it was really embarissing when people find out you cant read.

Yeah because the best books we can manage to read, are colouring books...

Should have gone to specsavers

Im not too bad when it comes to words, I'm much worse with numbers. I'll admit I do sometimes (depending on how much Ive typed) paste it into Word just to make sure. Kind of cheating but hey, it works for me.
-
Its not that we cant learn to spell, I think without suffering from it yourself, its hard to understand. The way it works for me, is that I will reverse letters and numbers, but no matter how many times I read it, I will read it correctly. For example the only reason I did ok in my maths exam was because I showed all my workings out, but I got nearly every answer wrong. They saw that I started off with the number 45, but by the end of it, I was working with the number 54. In my english exam I would spell words but in the wrong order. You have to read things ever so slowly to be able to pick it out. Like I say its hard to explain It hits people in different ways, and I think a lot of people that claim they suffer from Dyslexia, don't really and just use it as an excuse.

I hope they do!! Then mr greed-bay will sit at his computer and go "Oh crap, Ive got no money left"

They are indeed the same company. I think its going to put a lot of people off selling on ebay, but in all honesty, its gone downhill anyway. I remember when it first started, it was a great way to find incredibly random stuff you wouldn't find anywhere else. Now its just shops selling stuff you can get for the same price on Amazon ect, but paying ebay and paypal for the privelige I dont be selling on ebay again.
-
just found on ebay Q&A: Starting on 3rd June 2008, all sellers on eBay.co.uk must offer PayPal on all their listings. If you want to sell but you don't have a PayPal account, sign up now. In addition, PayPal must be the sole payment method offered in these cases: 1) Sellers using a 1-day listing format 2) Sellers listing in these categories: - Video Games > Consoles - Consumer Electronics > MP3 Players - Computing > Software - Wholesale & Job Lots > Mobile & Home Phones - Business, Office & Industrial > Industrial Supply/MRO We'll alert affected sellers by email or in the Sell Your Item form.
-
Reading around the internet about it today, they will soon be introducing paypal as a mandatory payment, so you can ONLY pay via paypal... With all this, and their new feedback system where sellers can ONLY leave positive feedback, they are going to put a lot of people off.
-
Its as if they think people cant handle disputes with each other on their own, so they have to be a big bully and go "you havent described the item properly, so I'm keeping your money" while sticking their middle finger up at you. I will not be continuing to use ebay if this policy becomes a regular thing
-
I dont know if anyone else has been stung by this, but I recently have, selling a SLR camera on ebay. The item has been sold and payed for straight away. I look in my paypal account to see that the payment is in "holding" and I cannot touch it. It says that until the buyer gives positive feedback, or 21days after the payment has been sent with no disputes, the payment will be held by ebay. And now, having recieved my positive feedback from the seller, my money still hasnt been released and Ive been told I cannot access my money until the 24th August. So this means, that the seller is supposed to send out the goods, without actually having the money..? How many times have you bought something and forgotten to leave feedback? This would mean the seller would have to wait 21days before actually getting hold of the money, while its sitting in Paypals account, gathering interest. They say its to protect the buyers from fraudulent transactions and will only happen in certain circumstances, but what about the sellers rights? I felt very uncomfortable sending out an item, without having the money in my hands. What if the reason I was selling was because I needed the money? How am I going to be able to afford to send the item out. Do I wait for 21 days until the money arrives in my account before I send the item? If I went to a shop and asked if I could take a TV away now, but they wont get the money for 21 days, I'd be told to leave.. This seems absolutely crazy and I dont understand how they can legally do it!?

Reliability Running A Q/r With A 74 Kings Tensioner?
that NBR dude replied to Andeee's topic in Trials Chat
Mine never worked for me with a QR. No matter how tight I did it up, it would always move. Ended up getting so annoyed I zip tied it in place. I tried all sorts of things like putting rubber washers inbetween the frame and tensioner, griding the surface to make it rougher, but nothing worked. -
I bought mine in March, I think, from the US. Payed about $450 for it

Ive got a Toshiba Satellite, slightly lower spec than that one, but still 17". To me, it doesnt feel big and bulky, feels just right. When I go to use my moms Dell laptop thats only a 15", it feels so small and weedy. The laptop overall is great, it has a good battery life and a nice weight. Ive never used an XPS so cant comment, but I do like my Toshiba.

They charge you to withdraw if its under £50 I believe
