  1. Man that confused me. I was sat there looking at these coffee beans going "well mitch said it was a flash advert... whens it going to happen..." Very clever Mitch, but I think people would get bored very quickly, after the novelty wears off, and the full add wont be revealed
  2. Yea man, you get a really nice style. Really enjoyed that all the way through. You seem to be going just as big on the 24 as you do on the 26. That sidehop from the rails onto the wall was awesome. More please!! Oh and I wondered how long it would be until someone used that song haha
  3. You know those big metal things, with wheels, people sit inside them? They are called cars. If you get hit by one of them, when you mess up (like you nearly did several times in that vid) it's not going to be pretty. You have to appreciate that these people are not expecting you to come flying at them, so their reaction time is going to be pretty poor. Sorry for sounding like a harsh w****r but we've had some tragic losses in this forum in the past few months, and Im sure no one here wants to see that list increasing. Just wait 10 seconds for the cars to go past then do your move, or find a similar location with less traffic, or go back later when the traffic eases off. As for the riding, very huge but kind of unstylish. I'm not saying I want to see more 360s and all that, and I'm not TGS bashing before anyone gets on that bandwagon again, I'm purely saying it kind of looks like you are trying to run before you can walk. Everything seems a bit rushed and harsh, and like you could benefit from working on your smoothness, but thats just me being really picky.
  4. Damn, new frame arrived today, but I'm waiting on the rest of the bits to build it up. Looks like I will be on the GU after all
  5. I have done 3 in total now. My first two were back in 2001-2002, and I absolutely hated them. I was at that annoying stage between white and blue, and I really struggled, and because I struggled, I got frustrated and I didnt do any more for years. It kind of put me off them I then did my first in a long time, last weekend. Instead of trying to do well, I just went for it and have fun, and ... well I did just as badly, but I wasnt so frustrated with myself. I made myself targets to get to certain points in sections, as I knew with my fitness and the weather, I was never going to get through them clean or anything. Its made me look at comps a little differently now, so I'm going to put in the work to improve my fitness, and aim to do the whole season next year.
  6. It does seem to be across all clubs lately though. Even the hampshires have had poor numbers the last few rounds. I think for some people its just the expense. After you've paid whatever it is for your licence, its still roughly £10 for entry, plus travelling expenses and accomodation depending on how far it is and spare parts. It all mounts up over time. At a risk of starting an argument, the general trend of riding seems to be slowly slipping away from natural riding. People tend to be riding more street ect. Maybe more man made competitions would prove popular and appeal to a broader range of people? One thing I have noticed recently, is how poorly these competitions seem to be advertised and signposted, from a public point a view. I went to the national round at Hook Woods a few weeks back, and having never been there before, I couldn't find the venue. Surely if these events were advertised and signposted locally, maybe more people from the public would go to watch, and more people would get into the sport, which cannot be a bad thing from your point of view.
  7. Mr Morris, we must meet up and ride soon! Can't watch the vid until later on, but I'm pretty sure it will be amazing. I've still got all the classics on the PC. Get yo' ass to Poole tonight for a big street ride.
  8. If my bikes built by then I may consider it
  9. Hush puppy!! I'm going to take photos, as I dont think I'm ready just yet, to embarrass myself in front of a whole new crowd of people... And I'm not quitting for 2 weeks...
  10. Only one person could make a BB spacer out of a keyring...
  11. Not quite to your usual standards there Rich
  12. The width might be a bit wide for streety trials use, but depends on how big you are what you're used to really. The Ride Wides were designed for the stresses of DH, so they'll be plenty strong enough for trials. They do have a fairly low rise, depending on whether you have the 20mm or 40mm rise versions, and have quite a lot of backsweep, but again it really does depend on what you are used to. Give them a try, if you dont like them, try something else.
  13. As long as they feel comfortable, thats all that matters. Bars are a personal preference, and a lot of people run different ones. I run Easton EA50s on a mod, and they feel great, yet other people hate them.
  14. Jezz Glynn, and I thought I had a lot of metal in me!! How did you manage that?
  15. Good to see you've come back to the dark side hehe. Everything spec wise looks fine, should make a right little beasty of street/trials bike. As long as the raceface stem isn't too short for you, should be good. Get out there and enjoy it
  16. Talk to me Sunday, might go down there to take some photos, in which case I can give you a lift.
  17. Yea I'll be there. Probably be the last ride on the GU
  18. People are nosey aren't they Only joking, you rock really
  19. Yeah I would say the Echo flats are probably the closest to Brisas. Also the Viz ones seem quite good too.
  20. Yea really unlucky there Adam. Still such an epic achievement to get that far! Lets push for 2009 then
  21. Then theres people like Dan Jones that do all 3. As Dave says, why be tied to just one style. I wouldn't call myself TGS (mainly because I cant tap, gap or sidehop) but then I dont do manuals and stuff, and Ive only just done one comp. What kind of trials do I do?
  22. Looks excellent. Nice to know you have the first on the UK. Almost want that engraved somewhere, like the XTP frame numbers. I'll reply to your PM tomorrow Ross, when I'm feeling a little more awake, but we shall definitely sort something out
  23. Cheers Nick. Its made me realise how incredibly unfit I am. Need to work on my fitness for next year I think.
  24. Muddiest comp ever! Did, well..... really badly, but at least I was consistent. 5's all round except for one section. Should have done better, silly mistakes. I blame the weather personally.. :$ Good day anyway and looks like I might be doing the whole season next year. Dan jones is a beast
