Not really. These frames are fairly unique as far as ZHI's history goes. One might think Hydroxx when one looks at the Z3R, but if you compare it to the Hydroxx 2 they're nothing alike. I don't see where you're going with the B5R looking like an echo? Looks more like a Sky frame from everything behind the headtube.

Here's a pic of the new ZHI Z3R and Bionic B5R frames: I've been told the B5R is 1080, +60, 72, 380. Not sure on the Z3R yet! More pics Z3R and B5R

Which Trials Forum Member Is This In The Crash? None Of Them.

The description sounds exactly like Dan Ko? How many chinese guys are there in the UK named Dan that have started their own trials business? -
No. Rear is 44 mm wide and front is 36. ERD for the rear dob rim is about 532 mm. If you by chance had a echo urban rear wheel build, the spokes from it would fit with a dob rim. The ERD's are almost the same.

LMAO Lets hope OTN never comes back

I didn't say that the minimalist design didn't warrant the price, I said the simplistic design doesn't warrant the price. Expensive frames are expensive because the amount of work and thought that goes into them. There's nothing special about this frame that distinguishes it as being worth 2X of any other similar Chinese frame. What makes it any better than the Dob Nova that's half the price? The only real difference between this frame and my Z3 frame is the hydro formed downtube on my Z3 and the weight. Geo is identical. The seat stays are even the same design on my Z3. It also shares that little hydroxx add on to the seat tube area. And the seat stay area really is not that great of a design, it should still have some sort of gusset between the stays to reduce flex. I got my Z3 for ~130 GBP shipped to me. The Z3 even looks better...

I hear you. It's a really simplistic design that doesn't warrant such a price. Isn't any better than the cheapo Dob/ZHI/etc frames that are sold at a fraction of that price. Anyone in their right mind would take a stinger over that in a heartbeat. I really hate how few trials frames are being manufactured with a built in booster now. Every frame should have one!

Nice looking frame, but the reach is way too short...Looks very similar to the Zhi Z3 in design.

Seat tube looks too long...I don't see why people even want a seat on a street trials bike?

I think he'll feel a bit let down because he's made them into some sort of super bike that he must mention in every post. All he's posted about over the last 2 years has been how he wants a 24" setup. It's driving people crazy, especially on OTN. In my experience with 24", there is nothing special about them. I'd much rather a norco moment for street riding than any 24" bike. Although, I really like how the bike in the OP is dual disc. Dual disc has such a nice refined feeling to it.

You're going to be really disappointed when you try one.

100% wrong. The Czar Ivan was NOTHING like the XTP in geo. I've never ridden a Czar Ivan, but I've read nothing but bad reviews about them. I haven't been fond of other bikes that use 375 cs either.

Mac wannabe!

Echo SL rims don't have eyelets. Get the try-all

I'm using the caelifera Tuffak pads right now (polycarbonate backing). I broke my first set and I was sent a replacement set for free. These are easily the best working pads I've used. Run them on a deep/fresh grind and say goodbye to any brake problems you may have had...they also work good on soft rims that grind poorly. I'm running a Dob rear rim with a grind, and it works fine. Not as good or as loud as with my try-all rim and a deep grind though.

I hate those kind of camcorders...had so many problems with mine.

I run FSA gravity bars. 720mmx40mmx8* I think. They're not trials specific bars, but I like them a lot. The onza bar will probably have less rise than this bar, but I'm sure the onza bar would be excellent as well.

The reach measurement of the slate(660 mm) is actually shorter than the ZHI(668 mm), so it would feel a bit shorter. I run a 120x20 stem and a 40 mm riser bar. This setup is ideal for my bike, so something similar would probably suit the slate as well. My meta fork is supposed to be 410x35. But, don't expect to bunnyhop these bikes too well! TGS bikes are not made to bunnyhop!

Seems like all the crappy riders cop out to 24" street bikes I'd love to see and try a 24" TGS bike. I really didn't like my street 24" bike, I didn't find it advantageous in any way. I find that riding a TGS bike does not make streety moves any harder, but it makes TGS moves far easier, so the attitude is to ride them in a TGS way. Whereas 24" street bikes do streety moves just as easily and make TGS moves terribly difficult, so one is forced to ride one in a streety way. I find TGS is way more physically demanding too, so that's one of the reasons I like it more. When I rode street bikes I didn't find it was much of a workout. But I absolutely love riding with other people who ride in a streety way, because it makes riding far more challenging to keep up with others. I find mixing a TGS riding style and streety style is where its at. Maybe that'll be the benefit of a 24" TGS bike?

I'm 5'8 and I used to ride an echo control short too. Great frame! I changed frames because I wanted to get away from 375 cs. I'd suggest trying a riser bar and a slightly shorter stem first. Now I'm riding a ZHI Z3. I feel very comfortable on this thing. With a Meta fork, the geo is 1080 wb, +40 bb, 72 ha, 381-388 cs depending on where the axle sits in the dropouts. Its designed for 385 cs though. The only problem I have with this frame is finding a gearing that works with it ideally. I found that 18:16 works perfectly with a half link chain but I find half link chains are too easily broken. Also, the Yaabaa stinger has very similar geo, so it would be comfortable as well. Here's a pic of the beast.

I meant that he looks more comfortable on the koxx.
