  1. My buddy has a rear CK hub, and his isn't very loud (but he's had it for a while, and he's the second owner as well). His sounds more like a low tone hum. If mine is like that, is there any way I can make it annoyingly loud?
  2. Has anyone here tried the schwalbe tires? I've heard good things about them, but never tried any of their tires. http://schwalbetires.com/node/71/ok
  3. I just got this wheelset on ebay...do you guys think I got a deal? http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...p;rd=1&rd=1 I'm using the front wheel for my street bike...and the CK hub is coming off the rear wheel and getting laced up to an 07 echo rear rim when I get my Adamant A1 (07). Here's a pic of my street bike if anyone is interested.
  4. I'm 17 and I'm planning to ride the short 07 Adamant A1. I'll get it in a month or two. Hopefully not longer than that . Right now I ride a Trek Jack street/dj bike, the WB on it is about 1035. Too short for trials, but makes a sweet urban rig.
  5. Alright, thanks guys. I'll probably just get 2 Pro II trials hubs on ebay then. Thanks!
  6. I'm thinking of getting one of the adamant (echo) freehubs ( http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?id=638 ). How does it compare to the Hope Pro II trials hub? It's similarly specced, but I've never used, or even seen either of them. But I hear great things about the Hope hubs, so I'll probably still get one for my street/jumper rig. Any help is greatly appreciated. I've done some research, but not a ton of results...
  7. ^^^ that last comment was really confusing to me. Does anyone have an exact answer? My friend tells me there was once a hub with like 200 engagement points for trials, but it's now discontinued, anyone know of this hub?
  8. Alright...I'll probably get a Pro II off ebay anyway. But does anyone know how many engagements the ringle has?
  9. My friend has a few sun ringle hubs, he says they're crazy loud. He thinks they have 72 engagement points but isn't sure. I can't seem to find a definate answer online. Does anyone know? He has Sun Ringle Abbah SOS hubs. It would be cheaper for me to get one of these if they're good than a Hope or King... Thanks!
  10. I think the magic number is 4. I usually ride alone, but I don't like to ride with more than 4 people (including myself). I find that when you have more than 4, people get in the way, or don't want to stop to check something out. Having a buddy to film is always great too
  11. I would recommend an Avid bb7 as well. I run dual bb7's right now on my street rig, they work very well . I'd also recommend you stay far away from any Hayes brake. I've snapped 3 hayes Mx-1 calipers so far.
  12. The worst 26" trials bikes are definately made by Norco. Really outdated geometry, and are harshly short. The Moment has a 1016 mm wheelbase and it's built around the 26" wheel . It's heavy, made of steel, and costs $400 GBP. It's rediculous.
  13. haha yep. I listen to Metal sometimes when I ride. I prefer not to listen to music when I'm trying to concentrate, because I find it throws me off a lot. Also makes things much more dangerous, IE traffic.
  14. Thanks guys! I've been doing mtb street for about a year, and I decided to go for trials this year. I've been maybe 2 months since I learned to backhop properly...but I rarely get to ride an actual trials bike, since I don't own one yet So, I just practice on my Trek Jack. :$
  15. I'm a noob, but I thought I'd make a short little video. It's not really the best I can do, but at least I got a vid ...The bike isn't actually mine, I actually ride a street mtb... this is just me tooling around on my friend Paul's Echo Pure. http://media.putfile.com/Jason-V1 ...anyone find this vid's music to sound familiar?
  16. I too have a Trek jack!!! AND I was planning on putting a rigid fork on it!! Crazy co-incidence! I'm gunna put a funn stiffy on mine so the geometry doesn't go wacko.
  17. haha, sorry about that music guys! I'm planning on getting a trials specific frame sometime soon. I might be able to get my parents to get me an Adamant A2 for christmas! Anyone got any experience with these? I live in Canada and there arn't many trials riders around here. I ride a Trek Jack 2 and a Giant STP 1. I've only ever met like 4 or 5 'real' trials riders. I've tried a couple of Norco moment's, absolutely hated them because they were so short, and I tried an Echo Pure on Saturday and absolutely loved it! Although, I don't think I'd buy one...
  18. Just getting over a cold and was bored. http://media.putfile.com/hamster-trials
  19. 22-19 feels really good. Better for natural, and 22-18 for street.
