  1. Spectacular looking frame and frame design. They really know how to make a frame that works. However, I'm not sure this would be a frame for me. I find 380 cs too short with high bb, makes the bike feel way too twitchy imo. There really is no need for a chainstay that hugs the tire, these bikes arn't made to be doing spinny moves. Longer stays with high bb feels soooo much more controlled when on two wheels and the rear wheel. I am not fond of short front ends, especially with high bb. I think the geo should look more like a YaaBaa Stinger, we definitely need more high bb bikes with 390 cs!!!
  2. Good vid, but he looks really sketchy compared to his older videos. Must be that high bb with short stays...
  3. I get banned because I'm not aloud to have an opinion on OTN. Rush should be banned because he posts pornographic links on a forum that kids frequent.
  4. Wow. Rush should get a ban for that one.
  5. It's a fair question - Damon's brakes seem to work great!
  6. Because it makes the bike feel way more balanced with a high bb. I ran 388 mm dropouts with my frame, and the bb height is just over 40, felt mint. I think we should see more frames like the stinger or TRA's proto caelifera frame.
  7. Looks kinda crappy to me. We need to see more frames with 390 cs imo.
  8. Damon couldn't ride one of those full time, he'd break it in half.
  9. Well, I should have made myself clearer. If you keep the wheelbase, bb height, and cs length the same, but change the head angle from 73 degrees to 71 degrees, the reach will become much shorter. Rowan mentioned keeping the head angles the same. Well, we're not talking about really slack head angles like choppers. Rowan's 24 had a 71 degree head angle if I'm correct. To compare, the Inspired has a 25.5" reach at 1040 wb, while the ashton effect has a 25" reach at 1040 wb. I'd certainly choose the effect over an inspired any day, I find a 25.5" reach too long for street 24s.
  10. Dan's right. Slacker head angles are good for a more bunnyhop/manual and flicky riding bike, because they make the reach of the frame shorter. Sharper head angles are good for front wheel moves, but make the reach long, making the bike ride slower and more sluggish, like a long trials bike would.
  11. Wow, you guys think you got it bad in the UK. Try living in Canada. Last January we had many days where it didn't get warmer than -30 in the day time, without windchill! Our water heating system exploded last winter because it was working so hard to keep the house warm.
  12. One of the smartest students at my university was a high school dropout. Formal education is not always a good measure of knowledge or intelligence. Canada for the win! Edit: I just had an odd thought. This sorta ties in the politics of health care and trials. When you compare the number of 'good' riders in the US to the rest of the world, the US fares very poorly. What if this is due to Americans being afraid to hurt themselves and rack up medical bills? Maybe not all go out thinking this way, but I'm sure it has some kind of influence. I know this is definitely something I don't worry about when I ride. All the best riders of the world come out of places with free health care!
  13. True words of wisdom. Thanks for your input on the subject!
  14. I live plenty close to the US and I think they're portrayed accordingly in the media. OTN shows what Americans are like quite well too.

    Random Video

Sick riding style alex. I really liked this video
  16. yeah, that's pretty much all that's similar though. I mean, there's only so many ways to make a trials frame... I agree with the bionic dropout thing. Although I'd prefer dob dropouts, they're similar again, but even more minimalist.
  17. The ZHI bike website also shows a lot of other new frames that are yet to be released. Looks like they'll be releasing a few 24" bikes too.
  18. There is no doubt that CEO's are overpaid. It's one of the biggest ethical problems that America faces today. Ken Lay, former CEO of Enron, was being paid over $120 million a year. He did this by making the company's revenue overstated, making share prices increase, and his CEO bonus structure was based on the value of shares. He, like many others, manipulated the system into getting paid through the nose.
  19. No. Rich people often do very little work for the amount of money they are paid. I believe it's fair that the doctor that gets paid 500,000 a year should be taxed to benefit his underlings that do all the physical work for him, and get paid some measly unfair wage. My point was that work is not always equated with the amount of money one will make. A grade school teacher works hard for their 35,000 a year pay, while CEO's of Americas corporations get paid millions to sit in a chair and tell people what to do. The school teacher probably does much more work, but are not rewarded in the same accordance as the CEO. Your ideas of economics are extremely flawed. You don't understand how economics work. Please name a socialist thing that is bringing your country down.
  20. Would be more worthwhile than a 24" tgs bike. I think the idea is interesting, but not very practical.
  21. Spoken like a true American. But my god, you have no idea what you're talking about. America is on the far end of the spectrum! America is one of the most capitalistic countries in the world! History is not doomed to repeat itself - that's why it's called history. If one doesn't document what has happened in the past - then yes, history could possibly repeat itself. The goal of recording what humanity has done in the past is so that we can better ourselves from this experience. Socialism is not 'cool because you don't have to work'. You still have to work. But why should someone who has no job be rejected for health care? This doesn't just apply to the bum that sits on the corner asking for change. This applies for anyone that's out of work. Socialism just relocates wealth. In a capitalistic society you see that the majority of wealth is held by a small group of people, leaving a large group of people in poverty. The goal of socialist ideas is to try to distribute wealth more evenly. One thing I don't understand here, you say that Europeans with their socialist ideas are doing the wrong thing, yet your capitalist country is so much better isn't it? The US is in the shitter right now because it's overly capitalist. The US's governmental structure is falling apart at the seams - people are without work, loosing their jobs, and without healthcare or are paying ridiculous amounts of money for health care. The difference in the amount of tax you pay vs the payments you make for your own health care plan are huge. Canada has a mixture of capitalist and socialist ways. While the US has had a recession over the last few years, Canada hasn't. The only thing we've noticed are slightly increased gas prices. Many developed countries are flowing into a mixture of capitalism and socialism. I think it's the only possible way for the evolution of our society.
