  1. I'm riding dob rims right now. I find they're harder to flat spot than echo rims, but will warp side to side easier.
  2. Yeah, I rode an 07 rim for 4 months, it's got tones of flat spots in it. I didn't really beat it that hard either.
  3. Those weights of the echo rims must be off a bit. I have an old one that I grinded twice, my park scale says 880 grams. Got some rear dob rims weighing 560, and meta rim at 740 g. Oh, and echo rims flat spot very easily.
  4. Is it just me, or does it seem like none of these bikes have grinds?

    Best Brake ?

I like Rock blues on a medium to harsh grind, or plazzies on a light to medium grind.
  6. How much do you weigh? I'm 12.5 stone (175 lbs) and I felt a massive amount of flex in mine. So much, that I took it apart last night and built my echo back up. I actually think the frame gets flexier the more you ride it? Try some drops over 3 feet, or larger gaps, and you'll REALLY feel some flex beneath you.
  7. LOL WHAT STIFFNESS?!? LMAO!
  8. Naww....too much flex man. I like mine, but...the flex is crazy. I'd much rather a slightly heavier frame that has less flex.
  9. I think they're all really fun.
  10. I'm running plaz on a dead grind with tar and it works alright. Echo pads are horrible in my experience with them.
  11. The flex in that frame will eventually drive you crazy.
  12. Not sure, havent tried titanium, probably similar. My friend has an echo pure short, my dob flexes a bit more than his...if that's any comparison
  13. You feel the frame flex downward. Almost like rear suspension! lol
  14. I've had 4 echo brakes. 2 of them leaked (non water bleed!), lines break easily, slow rebound, spongy, the brake pads are gay, I honestly have nothing good to say about them. I'd rather just have a magura with aftermarket lever.
  15. Looks light! Any idea on the weight?
  16. I know what you mean now James, you really do need some new places to ride...lol! But you're kicking ass at those for sure...can't wait to ride with you man!
  17. I hate deng brakes. I've had like 4 of them, and they're all shit. My friend just ordered one here, and broke his line taking it out of the box. The lines break VERY easily, TPA F's the lever up, they leak, can't be bled with water, are a bitch to fix...and magura has 5 times longer warranty on their brakes...oh and the pistons don't seem to move out from the cylinders as much as a magura does. The brake also feels sluggish, slow rebound, and they're spongy too... Just get a magura with HEN TPA and a deng lever, then you're set
  18. I've got the orange 08 26" dob and love it to death. It does flex a lot in the rear end, I've got the lighter echo 4 bolt booster, and it does the job, but there's also downward flex in the frame that you really feel when doing drops. Riding this bike has made me a much better rider. I came from riding an echo control short. All the things that the echo needed improvement on are offered in the dob I think...way better rear wheel stability, ups are so much easier because of the weight, slightly longer, lower frame, and it spins like crazy! I'm extremely happy with mine. I highly recommend them... Not sure about the rims yet. They're relatively sturdy, the rear might fall out of true by about 3 mm once every two rides, but it's easy to fix...I'm not fond of the grind though, dulls off quick. I'm running a mediumish grind with tar, and it works well. Haven't had any problems with the front dob rim yet, still 100% true, no dents, spokes are still tight...good front rim Oh, and they build a sickly light bike! lol I've been filming the last few days, so I might put some clips together of riding the dob I run a ZHI 120*20 stem on mine and it fits well, an echo 130*15 would work as well, but the front end might feel a bit low.
  19. Why is it they made him lift his arms?
  20. Way to not tell me? When in may? I might be in.
  21. well...that's no fun! Big loss for Koxx...
