  1. Saw this on echobike.com Full bike weight of 9.8 kg including booster. Sorry if this is a repost. Pics of the mod as well:
  2. As soon as I saw it, I thought "oh wow!" Makes me want one
  3. What kind of rim was that in KrisBoats' video?
  4. I don't really think bb height matters that much when manualing, you just have to get used to the differences, and change your technique accordingly. I've had several bikes, +20 control, +35 dob, +45 GU , a saracen mod, and an echo team mod. I can manual them all quite well, except for the DOB, it seemed to flex and twist too much when I was on it... I find with longer frames, to get started you have to use a short pedal stroke, makes it a lot easier. Likewise, learn to pull your arms in when the front comes too low, it's an odd technique, but BMXers use it often.
  5. Tar isn't that messy, it's pretty solid, and you're only supposed to apply small amounts. Grinding is easy as well, try it on a shitty wheel to get the hang of it, then do it on yours. It's really easy, and it doesn't rape your rim like you seem to think. I'd say that most riders are using a grind, and ALL comp riders are.
  6. I'm running 18:16 with 170's, and I'm going to be switching to 18:15 with 175's for next season. Tried it on James bike and it just felt right.
  7. They're both trials bikes... I'd rather stock.
  8. So if you quit trials, why did you post it on a trials forum?
  9. So, I've got a saracen Mad 2.0 and a new ACS freewheel for it, but the thread size is different on the hub, so the freewheel wont fit. So it needs a new rear hub, but the dropouts are also 14 mm I believe. Recommendations?
  10. Is there a difference in the material used between the 06 and 07 rims?
  11. Yeah, that's usually where they fail. I think Jeff and Steve broke their frames in that place as well.

    New Fork

Your best bet is probably a trialtech or META fork. I've been running a META fork since the end of May, and it's been great. Very stiff, but disc only.
  13. Cool vid, we'll have to go riding sometime next year, when I move to Peterborough!
  14. Really? I thought no one was aloud to modify the sections? If it is 'legal' then that should be changed... Looks like he tried to cheat and it bit him in the ass. I would have disqualified him...
  15. Great footage, but could have been a lot better with a less gay tune. I was waiting to see James B in there...haha. Too bad James didn't get much filming in this summer.
  16. I burst out laughing when I read that.
  17. I've found the echo 07 to be the best so far, haven't tried Dx32's yet though. Does anyone know how well the echo 06 rims grind in comparison to the new ones?
  18. Yeah, rake. Although the lengths are different, which are personal preference...but I honestly LOVE 35 mm rake. Running a meta fork makes the bb height about +45 as well.
  19. I ride a GU LE. Mine just happens to be better than the rest, because Mr Barton test rode it Would be nicer if it was longer. Stem/bar on mine needs to be changed. Run a koxx or meta fork Or Look at the GU ST
  20. Surely it's the reverse.

    Help!

See if you have any friends that own angle grinders, and do it at their place. lol! Get a shitty rim to test on first, so you get used to it, and then grind away! Tar is good in moderation, but it doesn't work in the wet.
