Don't modify the internals. It's a better idea to try to clean it as best as possible inside, and remove as much lube as possible. This will make the hub louder, but wont be lubricated as well. I ran mine pretty dry for a long time, and it was quite loud. I've since lubed it, toned it down by about 60% in sound...I can't hear it over my music now. lol Best hubs on the market though.
The only chris king hubs that don't work properly are those that are neglected, never tuned, and allowed to become loose. I've owned 2 over 2 years (1 bmx and 1 mtb spacing), and I havent had either of them skip on me. Very easy to maintain too...but some people don't feel like they should have to look after their bikes...
I think the Zoo's look great! Why mess with a tubing design that we know works? Geo looks great other than head angle. Wouldn't be as bad if you ran a koxx or meta fork though.
Wow, geo looks really nice on the pitbull, 383 chainstays is honestly PERFECT. I've had 375, 380, 383, 385, 395, and 412, and 383 feels absolutely perfect. Kinda similar geo to the GU LE, but lower bb. I think it looks amazing too!
Not to be offensive or anything, because you seem like a cool guy, but I think the only reason you got validated was because of your ability to ride. lol
Yes, there's a huge difference between 170s and 175's. 18:15 with 170s is a very hard gear for trials, but when you use a 175 length crank, it's light enough to be used as a comp gearing. 18:15 with 175's is the way forward IMO.
I don't get much shit from the police. One time I was at a (private) wall at a carwash, practicing ups and such, and a cop rolls into the car wash. I picked up my bag expecting him to tell me to leave. But, he was really cool about it, and thought it was great. He watched us do stuff for a good 15 minutes! LOL
Not very flexy at all. Just some flex between the seat stays when you pull the brake, like all trials frames that lack built in boosters... I've had an echo control, DOB, and now a GU LE. So, I know the differences between a stiff (control) and a flexy (dob!!!! LMAO) frame. And the GU LE is very stiff for it's weight. I love mine to death.
That setup looks fairly decent, is that rear hub a freehub? I'd change that stem and bar though, I've currently got a ZHI 120x20 stem with a truvativ 35 mm riser bar(faced forward), and it feels really great. I love how my GU LE rides now, the only thing I'm considering upgrading is the cranks, I'm looking to get some 175 mm length cranks in the near future. As for flex, the only flex I notice is at the lever, brake feels really spongey and doesn't hold if you don't run a booster. 2 bolt booster seems to correct that.
Put the whole brake in a bucket of water, open bleed valves, pump, close one, pump, close the other, and open the closed one, and pump. Repeat for like 20 minutes until bubbles stop coming out of the system.
