No you dont, because it leaves an oily film. Use turps or white spirits 1st to get rid of brake powder and tar if you use it. Then, hot soapy water (fairy works best) and give it a good clean to make sure all the turps is gone. Wipe with a clean cloth until dry, and you should have one mother f**king good brake. Oo, do the same to your pads aswell, just be careful with the turps Also, if you have a grind, then theres no need to dry it, just ride about dragging the brake and wait for the squeals
