Yeh well i mean that is the cheaper option to be honest....its that or the urban BB...cannae decide Some guy on bikeradar came up with the idea of using inserts so i could whack any bb in there....but then id have to tap the insert...hmmm Edit: Or lathe down an old bb shell. That could slide in when cooled, and the frame heated so it'd be stuck in. Then to get it out I could heat the frame and pull it to put the Spanish style BB in....that could work.
-
Haha might be a plan then We'll see really... I mean I'm more than happy to drop £50 on the Urban BB if I knew i could use it in a different bike...but I just cant see trials companies adopting the spanish style press fit bb system anytime soon

Unfortunately I have to have it in 6 series at least, probably 6082..which is a bugger really Cheers for the web linky though luke Nah I'm welding the shell to the yoke anyway, coustellier style so thats no real issue to be honest Not really, I mean we have the lathes but thats gonna be a bugger to get right I reckons. Haha good shout, ill remember that... Was thinking about making my own taps from old steel BB cups....put some notches in to clear swarf? Centre it with the lathe and do it....might work ..any other suggestions?

A good light weight stock should be around just under 9 to just over 10 I reckons.....full build deng tank's are normally around 11.5. Anywhere in between and all good really MY coustellier is 10.3 at the moment....but with front magura, burns and new front wheel it *should* be sub 10kg

Okay, all materials are now at college being mitred and such....pictures and that up when the majority are finished. One small matter though... I'm putting a shit load of time and effort into making this so I want a decent BB set-up compatible with my old set-up ( 68x128 isis set-up ). My choices are as follows: Machine a BB shell and pay £20 to have it tapped to standard 1.37" x 24tpi thread to take my old fsa platinum BB. Buy either http://tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?product_id=11117&category_id=2 or a comparable strong ISIS press fit style bearing BB Try and find another bottom bracket that fits my requirements....like I said above the frame hasn't yet been constructed so I can make the shell fit the BB. Are there any decent press fit style 128 ISIS BB's out there? Is press-fit a good option with aluminium frames? Any other types of BB that would work with a front freewheel set-up? Cheers for any help you lot can give Alex

I used some PTFE tape when me mates mount bolts were bottoming out on the frame

Cheers Ah goodo, thought it was about that I'm on it

Yeees, but as said, be very careful. You'd do better to depress the lever so the slaves push out and then grab them, instead of pulling them up. Nope, the back of the slave hits the mount I'm afraid, no real benefit to be had there. Nope, small woodscrews through those little holes in the back of the pad. Could use glue as well though..... Yeh I'd overbleed Use something underneath? What he said....they're very brittle and snappy happy.

To be fair....Koxx sell some quality well researched stuff that is well made and well finished, from what I've seen of Rockman I don't think I could say the same. But thats just going to start a whole new debate....the end of the matter is it's lightweight top notch shit...it just can't handle being bashed into pointy rocks. Either buy into something heavier, or learn to ride slightly with slightly better timing to quote the K-124 literature.

I have That forms the basis of my point..... No problem dude.....I reckon it has to be around 1.5mm? A typical Deng is normally 1.9 I think on the down-tube...whereas Koxx are normally about 1.6-1.7

Such a shame Really gutted I missed the last DJ ride in the football grounds... Yeh could be on Jack, just a bit far for us southern guys...we'll see though I guess

Made a wee video from some clips taken from a few weeks ago. Riders include Sprog! on here and Jake, a local to Plymouth Edited by me....abstract choice in music but I reckon it's okay... Cheers, all comments welcome Edit: Link here Vimeo Video

It's supposed to be lighter and stiffer...both signs that they have sacrificed in other areas such as fatigue or UTS. It's failed in the HAZ, where almost all frames fail. My thoughts exactly....the weld has penetrated perfectly well. This is a case of a sharp impact causing a very thin-walled ( 1.6mm at best? ) stiff ( read brittle ) competition spec material when exposed to a pretty intense force.

Length is 8?? I know that much It's wee 1090, 73, 380, +40 I *think* thats right....probably sometime next year I's assume?
