Just ride it around a bit, maybe chuck some water on to get rid of the iron oxide build up. If the rotor is visibly pitted, a replacement would be your best bet
Course its bloody personal preference, hence why i stated my preference...the dude was asking for advice and I tried to give it.
As far as I see it, the general consensus is riser bars. Nearly everyone runs them and this must be for a good reason surely.
No cons to riser bars...

If you want a choice of colours, go try-all....if you want to save £4 go trialtech.
Both made by VP ( vp-458a ) and just re-branded. Whichever you buy, you should remove the inner cage though.
