  1. Ride with me...im coming up for 2 weeks to Faversham
  2. jakes out later...i might stay till like 8? depends if i ride well or not
  3. yeh sounds about right.....you just need to get through the lacquer, maybe wire wool would be better? easier to give a nice brushed look to it.
  4. I have all three...and even I concede theyre overpriced....I mean they work damned well, especially the hubs but you just cant justify the price tag in my opinion. Rear hub is lush, and bearings on front one are good...but you can get far lighter than the front one. If i was buying new I'd say Echo SL FFW, try-all rear hub, echo tr fronthub and and SL headset. Second hand, possibly go with King. The only reason I bought my set was because they were dirt cheap ( swapped headset for a spare, rear hub for spare frame so around £90 and front wheel was £35 ) Oh, and the bottom bracket is only compatible with shimano i think it is? cranks,...so no FFW or 18t up front.
  5. I'd still go Heatsink Coust.....beat the two bikes I've ridden using LGMs
  6. Post mount *** Why the X2 caliper... smaller pistons so less powerful
  7. Beautifully filmed and edited...riding was great too..... NICE
  8. Hm theyre not that huge....my Viz forks are 425mm so certainly usable.
  9. MMmmm the weight does seem a tad high, although one assumes they're pretty strong to compensate for this. There are some other carbon forks that are 900g.....crazy
  10. What exactly is wrong with it? Strange...pretty much everyone else has the opposite opinion to you what's wrong with your maguras? why do you hate maggies?? and ive heard that echo tr brakes have very brittle cables and braek alot?? is that true??
  11. It was in the news section of the forum not too long ago...thought it was common knowledge now
  12. fork linky These look ace...such good value from what I can see. Any opinions?
  13. Maxxis Highrollers and Nokian Gazzelodi come in 2.7" versions. I doubt it, measure the spacing of the mount first. I personally wouldn't go any bigger than 2.35/2.5" on the rear. In my experience, Continental Der Kaiser or Maxxis minion dual-ply are about the best choices ( having ridden both exhaustively I can't justify the massive price difference ). Also, make sure you get the Black Chili ( Continental tyres ) or 42a Super Tacky ( maxxis tyres ) to ensure you get decent levels of grip Also, with the narrow 38mm DX32 rim it probably be an idea to get a 2.35" to help reduce tyre roll. Maxxis Minion front
  14. I'm kinda awkward....massive bike, tiny rider You... I reckon a high front end is vital for this frame, along with shorter Koxx forxx with less offset that will help reduce the gargantuan wheelbase. If you want any more info just ask Cheers, Alex
  15. haha so they sound ideal then!
  16. Heres mine, autumn 2008 I think on me Coust V1 frame
  17. get frame perfectly upright, then spirit level on top of mounts to check they're level? File will sort them out if not....
  18. Probably around 16swg? ( 1.63mm ) around normal for a framw weghing 1.6-1.7 Only pre-lightweight deng stuff has over 2mm wall....2.2mm i think?
  19. Trial version of Sony Vegas...google how to extend the trial indefinitely
  20. Good stuff.... doubt it's 8...as a limey 320, heavily modified, ti bits, singlewall rims and one of the lightest front tyres available is 7.8
  21. 8kg...probably too light. Stand on scales, weigh yourself Grab bike, weigh yourself + bike Gross weight - your weight = bike weight
  22. Alex Dark

    Help!

Thats amazing...god knows how you didn't notice them when you put em on the forks though
  23. Shimano UN52...or UN72 if you can find one for square taper Bearings last forever, and pretty damned strong. Personally, I'd go ISIS>..far better cranks available ( unless you run Burns ) less flex, stronger axle. FSA platinum pro...Superstar components IRB.....try-all
