  1. Got them...pretty nice, seem fairly strong. very stiff, but in my opinion too long
  2. cool beans Fair old bit of improvement, new bike looks a lot better, and sprog is obviously thriving on the competition
  3. Hey all, just wondering if theres anyone that lives in / close to northampton that fancies a ride ont he 27th onwards? Im staying in kettering
  4. my thoughts exactly.... if som, ething does break then just fix it, theres no point trying to pre-empt it
  5. google search came up with this...slightly disturbing
  6. Rockman only use a generic rebranded XC rotor, as made by alligator and ashima so i dont think it would be fair to call it a fake? They work pretty well, but to be honest I wouldnt have said they're any better, the mono trial rotors are certainly good enough I'll have a look at your brake tomorrow martin and see if i can do anything with it.
  7. All hs33-compatible pads fit the echo rim brakes
  8. Negative, I got stuck twice even thought the above was true, If you can get a CK cheap that works really well, then do it. If not then fork out the readies for a decent FFW setup and be happy you've done the best thing possible
  9. Tonnes, oh and the night mode is pretty epic too Check out the night mode video, and something like Coustellier Video 6 Vimeo Album
  10. oh i agree, just could be useful if you were really in the shit with a loose flappy chain
  11. Sounds about right dude
  12. Stop getting so shirty... Woody was only asking, because if you broke it from doing something retarded a new brake wouldn't cure this. To that end I'd say source an 04 magura, but that's just my 2 cents
  13. Plug it into here: CLICK
  14. maybe worth taking a look at in case you're ever stuck in the lurch.....broken snail cam or snapped spoke tensioner etc. No I havent used it, but thought it could be useful Pinkbike linky
  15. Absolutely love my Sony HDR-SR12E...really superb picture quality, 100mins of battery life from the standard cells and I think 30mm lens size.
  16. To be honest, the urbans are probably your best bet on a budget. pretty strong, lightweight and reasonably priced. I run trialtechs, their only drawback being their length, and a few of my mates have the rockman spade's which seem to be holding up really well and have a geo far better suited to most natural frames. The orange forks are very short with a long rake I think? The SL's wouldn't be a good call i don't think. Not very strong at all. Straight blades and curved both end up being the same geometry, the rake and length is usually the same.
  17. No worries pingu my boy haha cheers man, had a good ride that day. Yeh man, im not sure where. Was contemplating newquay actually.
  18. Cheers man, have i met you by the way? thanks man haha he loved it that night...His new/first proper video will be out soon Sony HDR-SR12E. Can't recommend it highly enough..... Proper night vision more on the camera, as soon as it warms up a smidge ill make another night vision video as this one was so well recieved
  19. Of course i'd like to do it properly, I just don't have the means I do have access to a machine shop and im relatively profficient, so i reckon i could make something that worked if i had the tool in front of me. I suppose I could try and retro-engineer one from my hub? Arent they just an expanding wedge system that's threaded?
  20. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-2732641701589174520# Dirt Jumper Jake , look above So I will damage it for sure? .. Has anyone had any success making a tool?
  21. Righto, basically I really need to give my King a service, been a few months since I last did it. So, I fancied pulling all it's guts out to get it properly clean, lube the bearings and slightly stretch the spring. Trouble is I don't have the tool, neither do I want to invest in one. No-one near me owns one, and out of the 2 bike shops ive asked neither keeps one. Is it actually safe to punch out the main drive bearing? Has anyone made a tool to extract the bearing? Does anyone living in Cornwall or Devon have or have access to a tool? Edit: I have used the search, and realise I CAN punch the bearing, just wondering who's actually done it, and if its worth doing. I assume if i tap it out slowly it should be fine?
  22. If you have a FFW, then keep it and get an Echo SL unless you can find a king absurdly cheap. I have ran FFw for about 2 years, and a king for 1..can't fault either of them, but FFw is by far better value.
  23. I personally wouldn't run Try-all / koxx.... i've snapped a pair, and i saw kierans go pretty dramatically. Trialtech, or urban on a budget.
  24. Thanksman, really means a lot! hah yeh, i managed to just put jakes bails in Haha the Atomz loves it, not even a dent.... Kept some of the best clips of me back for Coustellier Video 7 so watch this space
  25. Hey there, just finished uploading the final edit of the Plymouth night Ride a couple of weeks ago. This was an experiment really to see what the quakity of footage would be like with decent settings, and i think it turned out pretty well personally The edit isnt amazing, but I was pushed for time anyway. Hope you guys like it anyway, any comments RE the filming, editing etc are as always more than welcome Alex
