  1. That ^^ Also the Echo lite 2011 would be worth a look at...can be picked up for around £600-750 brand new.
  2. You'll never get a proper conclusive answer dude... but my vote goes to Coust pads ( ones from trialprod/ coust bros, they just seem to work better for me ) or as Nick says Koxx browns.
  3. To be honest id just get rid and get soemthing you know will work well. The money you spend on getting decent pads could go towards dare I say it, a hope or a BB7.
  4. Zona Zip had the cnc'd "wings" of the 05 python. I reckon Black Mumba
  5. Yup...old ashton justice used 73mm shell. My gigapipe I used to use was 73mm with a 5mm spacer, so you can always space it out ( the same size as freewheel spacers ).
  6. Haha of course it is Clever Alex.....
  7. Ive never done it but id imagine it would : A) be far too soft, and wear away ridiculously fast. ( try the bite test compared to some " soft trials pads" like onza citrus or TNN LGMS B ) Leave rubber shavings behing you like some kind of Hansel and Gretel re-enactment. C) have a VERY low shear strength, and if the pad did grip on the rim would literally rip a good portion of it out of the backings. D) Be disgustingly spongy at the lever if the pads were of any considerable thickness. Edit: After a quick google it appears people use erasers to clean their smooth rims and remove debris: Mavic Rim Eraser
  8. "new proto of echo trial 24 with +120bb and 26 front wheele this beast is standing STRAIGHT on rear as natural! this is quite fun to ride" Probably bullshit, but quite intriguing picture. http://www.pinkbike.com/photo/7418832/
  9. If it was me buying one now... the +50 one. Seeing that you've only had +0 or bb drop bikes... then like aener says, the 1070 +35 would probably be best for you! Nice high front end and you'll be sorted Edit: I ride some natural, some tgs and ride a +60 1080, 382 frame...same height as you.
  10. To try and eek out more strength in highly stressed areas without too much of a weight penalty. Looks good also if executed well ( not a la rockman... )
  11. The old T-master stems I always thought were best if you can find one
  12. Up to front I guess... Nicely done though dude, i think ill practice that tomorrow

    My Czar

99% sure its just referred to as the Czar 07....along with the stock. Same as below?
  14. Try longer bolts and spacers...should all ow the frame to flex slightly more. Personally id just slam the booster like im running to get the most hold
  15. Bit of an OTT comment there Ali?! Personal preference clearly... Last bike id call Ghetto....considerably nicer than my main bike Sky looks naice though, shame to hear about the boxx.
  16. Tyre weight make s alot of difference purely because rotating weight ( when moving ) is greater than static weight. Rear tyre for me would be try-all stiky light if you ride smoothly and can afford it. If your a bit heavier or land heavily then Der Kaiser / Rain King ( conti ) If you want a light tyre but cant afford the try-all lite and dont mind sacrificing a bit of grip try the Kenda Nevegal 2.5 stik-e single ply. If you want a tyre that can take some shit, maxxis Minion 2.5 stiky 42a, slightly less grippy and long lasting as a Der Kaiser / Baron / RAin KIng You should notice a fair increase in grip ( and, depending on tyre choice ) puncture resistance.
  17. Got a mig and some steel? grind some bits up and stick them together with the mig to make a 6 prong tool...clamp it in the vice, drill a whole down through it ( m8 ) use a long m8 with penny washers to bolt the crank to the tool. Scaffold bar off the end ( pedal removed ) and hope your tool holds Edit: Or if you have some round solid/ very thick tubing ( 40mm ish od ) grind some chunks out to tie in with the cutouts in the SL and use that instead of the bits of steel welded together. Edit 2: OPr even better an appropriate size socket that you could grind to fit
  18. I did the same to my Echo CNC mounts too...really tidy job though, mine worked fine on my mod for ages until I saw some very cheap Echo TRs
  19. Mine are 2011, ive only used the rear but it holds a grind really well. Better than my old Try-all and probably the same if a little worse than my Echo 07 rim.
