  1. go square taper and get a un52 shimano model... It might be worth you checking out www.bikeradar.com ...they have an xc section that might be better suited to your questions....
  2. pretty cool, but the blue isnt dark enough IMO
  3. clamp he crank in a vice...flood the threads with wd40...put the bb tool in with a bolt going through both the crabk and bb to prevent it slipping.then get a spanner off the tool, then put a big extender bar to get the leverage over it.....
  4. Alright, but alot of us dont have much money...so when we see bargains we go for it...he's not a poor seller. its just his bro attacked his stuff
  5. Nope....and ive come to an agreement....he'll give me the cranks, an fsa bbsome v8s n maggie mounts for free, and he'll buy my tensiles for £35...so im sorted now...im just pissed about the pawls...however, there is a minute chance that sideways cycles MIGHT take them back Im going to edit this post as hes been reasonable about the whole thing He's been a stand-up bloke about the whole thing and given me compensation through parts.
  6. Sort out your spelling; before you post a reply actually, look at what you've written!
  7. as the flea has v-brakes...consider getting some trials specific pads for a smooth rim ( check tartybikes.co.uk or heatsinkbikes.com ) , or getting a grind ( running an angle grinder around braking surface to roughen it and thus increase friction ) Maybe consider investing in a pair of hs33s ( hydraulic rim brakes )
  8. i use koolstops so that i can stoppie..and for only that reason.. alot of people use zoo pads on a smooth rim
  9. Basicallty i arranged to buy some echo cranks, most of an eno freewheel, and a gu bash for £30.... i went a\long and brought some new pawls for the eno (£21). He then told me he couldn't find them. aye if i can find them, got the eno bits but cant find the cranks arms. but ill buy the cranks in the mean timem how much without the bash?? If you can find em?! just look for em...then send me £10 and yours and ill send mine... Without yours ill sell for £40 posted w.out bash...really good condition...ill get pics tomorrow... Ive just got the bits for the eno delivered so please dont mess me around! im am so sorry dude, really am, but ive got a shithead of a brother, he's just angled grinded some of my gear, a massive gauge out of my tryall bars and through the bash and your crank. he had hid them in the corner of the garage. ive just gave him a right bashing. ill give you them, the drive side crank, non drive side (when ive kicked the shit out of him to tell me where it is) and eno teeth and lockring for free if you want as there no use to me now. again im really sorry Ive just spent £21 on bits i cant use..unless anyone has an eno centre they'd sell ( i have the rest ) .... it isnt directly his fault...and i dont want him blacklisted etc...and dont take this as a slur against him...im just really annoyed and f*cked off Im not going to put his id because thats just unfair..... so ive basically got nothing now, ive still got my tensiles, which ill probably end up selling to him to fund a new FFW as my acs bit the dust last night Im guessing, as he hasn't shown it to me, that the lh crank arm is mullered ..... i d be sort of ok if i could get the cranks for free after all this, even if 1 side has a few lil angle grinder nicks...but by the looks of it i wont get anything but junk But its all good...i've come to an arrangement with him and im cool....im ging to try and get my money back from sideways cycles...although i cant really see that happening

  12. but drums pulla different amount of cable than vees or maggies...so you'd either have a really mushy brake , or one with no power

  19. 116mm is good because you an run a mod rear hub with a fixed cog...so a front freewheel can be used...makes life a lot easier and is far cheaper to maintain
  20. I agree....anything over 30" feels absolutely barge pole like...
