    Gap Help

Don't go sideways. When I do gaps my front wheel doesn't really lower *that* much, its more in the preload of your body than anything. The kick isn't really a kick as such, its more of alot of pressure on the pedal, rather than a stab. Hard to explain. Gte right to the edge of the object you're gapping off, push the bike back into the object right on the edge as this helps the tyre compress and get a bit more length.
  2. Well some sort of decent pads and a re-grind will make your brake alot better
  3. I use TNN LGMs on a grind and have found these to be the best available. If you don't want to grind yor rim some of the softer compound pads on tartybikes will work. Have a look through the pad reviews thread for ideas. Pretty much anything you can buy these days will be much better than magura blacks.
  4. Well its basically that there are much better pads out there. For a beginner they may be fine. But rest assured there are better pads out there should you find your brake slipping.
  5. Can't watch the vid at work but will get back to you with my verdict.
  6. If this is what I think it is, you shouldn;t be kicking. When you get over about 400mm you won't be able to kick and you'll have to relearn the technique.
  7. I live with the importer, Porter uses them on his trials bike and a few of us use them on xc bikes. They're pretty tough, they dont rip and wear out nearly as quick as standard foams. They get a bit slipper in the wet though. I prefer Echo/Trialtech grips on my trials bike but thats me.
  8. Only 26 days till I can recreate this photo when the clocks go forwards. get on.
  9. From memory it splits down into 6 parts - 2 cups (inc. bearings), centre sleeve, axle and the 2 green or gold axle washers. I think it all just pulls apart?
  10. Don't post a decent pic of it or anything
  11. I believe I'm right in thinking that is a comp 16 up front... Try swapping that out, I reckon with a try-all stiky or any other front tyre you could lose 500g straight away.
  12. I don't like to blow my own horn but, er... toot toot.
  13. Nein - Theres an update in the news section.
  14. There is a pay off for being light weight, shit does't last as long. If you want it to last for years either don't be a basher or accept there is a weight penalty.
  15. Is that a comp 16 up front? Looks good otherwise
  16. I think it'd be good if everyone just chills for the first few weeks, don't get worked up about people asking simple questions in trials chat, putting up with bit of spamming and generally just reporting bad content and not flaring up for the sake of it.
  17. When you get an extra hour of sunlight in spring time so you can actually do shit.
  18. Well if you puncture dual ply tyres now, then you'll probably want a freeride tube. If you don't get punctures, you might be ok. No one can tell you if you'll get punctures or not.
  19. Sure, I was thinking of a cat doing the hoovering or maybe a parrot putting out the bins.
