  1. Exactly - Just means the brake can't perform well because of anything that shouldn't be on there - oil, grease etc. This usually shows up with lack of bite/hold, and a, er, chicken gobbling sound especially when wet. A high pitched squeal is fine though.
  2. I was gonna suggest buring the pads in meths but you might want to ask your dad or something.
  3. Find a maths teacher you like/get on with and ask them. It doesn't matter if its not your teacher, they can run you through the basics in a spare 10 mins. Do you have any mates/older siblings/parents who understand it a bit better? I know it might be embarassing now, but you'll realise that its better to ask and get a decent maths grade than to try and save face and struggle on. If your teacher tries to embarrass you, ask them what the f**k they think they're doing, and if they want to appear to be a good teacher by having a nice % (thats percentage) of people pass the test, you're gonna need all the help they can give.
  4. Dave Dennis? Scraping the bottom of my mind barrel here!
  5. Alot of racks don't fit with disk brakes (obviously!), the Topeak super tour dx is a good one to go for.
  6. Could be ungreased/poorly greased bb threads/axle spline or tape, or pedal threads. Grease all these, tighten correctly and see if that cures it.
  7. Haha is slightly more in real life (probably pushing 4mm ) but thanks anyway! Its pretty good fun, worth a day trip I'd say. Lyme Regis is a bit closer to you and has similar rocks and a bit more street. Seaton is in between and is also fairly good.
  8. Hopefully those who make the trip for Radfest will return at a later date.
  9. Too far from me really (Devon), and to be honest we don't have the shortage of good riding spots the SE suffers with. I know if I was still at home in London I'd definately make the trip because of the lack of riding spots (that arn't out and out street spots) in the SE.
  10. Where are you in somerset? Might be worth seeing if there s a more experienced rider you can ask to have a look over your bike, ask him your questions etc
  11. Fair enough, makes sense to stop it getting turned into a shitty mud fest by motorbikes/landrovers. Meant to be the same on Dartmoor, but I've never been kicked off in about 5 years of riding there.
  12. Out of interest, who do you get kicked off by? Is it private land?
  13. Don't really understand - Could you take a pic / use paint to give us an idea? Only issue liek this I've had is the bearing coming out slightly on Rockman BUB hubs, meaning you can't get the fork in. If you can see the shiny silver ring of the bearing protruding from the hub shell it will need pressing back in. On your hub both sides are (supposed) to be freely moving so you undo bolts, slide in fork, tighten up each side.

    Fitness

Nothing fitness wise, apart from the odd xc ride now and again, and work can be fairly physical sometimes. I ride trials at least every other day in the summer though (natural and long rock sections, not hopping up a bench then sitting down) Diet is good to very good depending on the day.
  16. Bashguard.com reffered me I think? Had an original username that I either forgot or got deleted during a server crash or something.
  17. Toad rocks co ords: 51.133641,0.23997 Wellington rocks: 51.130385,0.25423
  18. I'd say Toad / Wellington rocks has more legit lines/sections/fun to be had if you're round that way.
  19. One part of contact will be the brake. With your pads (as new as possible, ideally) set up with the brake as far out as possible, measure between the pads. Take around 5mm off this number (obviously you dont want your brake constantly locked). If this number is equal to or greater than the width of an inspired rim, you should be good to go. The other area of contention could be the tyre clearance with the wider rim. Pretty hard to measure it, but can usually just change your tyre to a smaller one to fit.
  20. I found boiling water didnt work for me for whatever reason. What we do is get a coke can or something, cut in half, put pads in the base, fill with enough meths to cover the pads, then set the whole lot alight. Thats worked for us a few times now.

    Football

    1. Footballers don't design products such as aftershave 2. They're good businessmen if they get endorsements and sponsorship deals. Once you get a name for yourself, you become a brand that sells. The more you get te brand out there, the more it becomes known and therefore worth more, the more people who want you to endorse their products to get tem to sell. This goes round in a circle.
  22. Potentially your face if you're about to drop off something and the tyre pops off and jams in the frame sending you over the bars.
