  1. Funny how it all works out with different countries... I spent £2000 in 3 weeks in the Caribbean and I didn't pay for any accomodation or water sports .
  2. 2 things: Where there is no gap (you're taking off a flat floor) it'd hard to actually gap. Your wheel just rolls along the floor. Create a gap with some pallets. Number 2: It's a hell of a lot easier on a gap to front to go up too. So get a stack of pallets, stack 3 up and one like just over a wheelbase away (so there is actually a gap) and go up to the stack of 3. once you have that sorted, move the single pallet back and repeat. Also with small gaps it's hard to actually preload because your front wheel hits the obstacle. in this case it looks like your front will hit that bit of soil if you actually preload.
  3. Yeah but considering you can't do f**k all else you might as well get pissed up under the stars.
  4. Thats the very standard trials one, check the two photos... The one put up has a much smaller diameter. i've defo seen the type posted up beforehand, was a few years ago mind.

  9. Where are you from? Find your friendly local trials rider with experience and see what they say. A lot easier than trying to explain over the interwebs.
  10. Trials riders in having fun shocker
  11. I must have pulled the right strings I guess, I had 3 pro2T hubshells crack on me (two older non reinforced, one newer reinforced) and stripped a ratchet ring on another and never paid a penny apart from postage and my own wheel building costs. Maybe they stopped that though.
  12. Send it to Hope, free replacement. (well, was when I f**ked the 4 Hope's I've owned in the past)
  13. 7' 7", been riding since the day after Christmas.
  14. Why is that? Surely that stops all the fork / front tyre flex that makes things easier?
  15. Thats why I only do it on slippery surfaces. I find a locked brake helps with stability, sometimes the rear wheel will spin just from whe weight of you on the pedals. if it's a slippy off camber / gnarly rock it also helps resist the front wheel turning (i.e if the top of the rock is on a slope, front wheel wants to turn if all your weight is hanging off it). As the rock is slippery, the tyre slides on it as you lift up and doesn't affect the move. Anyway, personal preference I suppose. I only really ride natural so have to find these little techniques that help me out, and it's very specific to the type of rock you're on.
  16. Totally depends on the rock for me, sometimes it's no rear brake, sometimes fully locked (when it's really slippery for example), sometimes just on for preload. (This is for full static hooks by the way, not pigeons as shown in first post)
  17. We're all going off on a bit of a tangent guys.
  18. Budget arm of the famous manufacturer Because?
