  1. I'm gonna assume it's the BMX one... Get that old cassette thats been lying in your shed for the last hundred years, and undo/snap the bolts that are in the back of it, holding it together. Now sort out the cogs from the spacers. Get your current cassette. Undo (don't snap!) the bolts that hold it together. Sort the cogs from the spacers. Now get about 4 cogs that you use most often (you must use the very last cog as it has the serrated edge for your lockring bolt to dig into). Have ap lay around with the spacers and cogs. Ok, basically you need 2 spacers in between each cog. Sort it out so it has 2 between each cog. Do the rear bolts up. Do the lockring up. Put on chain.
  2. Interesting tactics... It'll still be locked though :o
  3. It doesn't matter... Have a look on CRC/Bikedock?Wiggle etc. and see which one will fit, and has the best price:weight ratio. Get that, when you get home measure the highest you're gonna have your seat then cut off the excess. If you really wanna save a few more grammes, drill it :)

    Short Steerer?

I guess you could do a ghetto job and weld/glue and extra section onto the top, allowing the top bolts to clamp down as well?
  5. CO Trials Eleventy-Blue? That's like 15 mins...

    Tools

Yeh but it's quality in't it... The Hope tool is nicely CNC'd with brass bits that are all well made. Sure, you can get cheaper, but it isn't as nice is it. A Mini Metro goes from A to B just fine, but people pay 10 times more for a Ferrari, 'cos it's nicer...
  7. That's kinda what i was thinking Andy, though i checked the bearings and cups and they all seemed true and smooth... Another bit of info, when i do the top cap up, then tighten the stem bolts, and keep the top cap tight after doing all the bolts up, the headset is really stiff to turn and makes a light scraping sound. It is all solved when the top cap is loosened off after the stem is tightened, but it just seems a bit odd :) Going by what you've all said, I recon it's something to do with the fitting/facing of the headset. I'll go and try to eliminate a few things, thanks for all your help boys :)
  8. Yeh i'll have to give that a go, cheers :) I'm running a star nut, i couldn't get on too well with the Hed Doctor.
  9. I'll check that out mate :)
  10. Yeh the crown race fits nicely with the forks, no problems there... However to my knowledge the frame hasn't been faced, that may well be the problem... And also the fact it was fitted by myself using an oh-so-shady home made headset press :"> Cheers for the help <_<
  11. Depends on your specific post :P Some bright spark was selling 'Black Gold' on Ebay, could get some from there i guess. However you're much better off either: 1. Asking around the local riders, those who have seen the light and ground their rims will have no need for it anylonger. 2. Have a look on your local roads, we found a load that had been inadvertently spilt that was easily dug up with a multi tool and a spare 20 mins <_< 3. Ask your local builders for some 'Kettle tar' 4. Find other spources, such as poles or roofs. 5. Give up and get a grind :)
  12. Afternoon ladies and gents, I'm running a Pazzaz stem on an Ashton fork fitted to a Hope headset on a Koxx LB. Right, the problem comes when i try to tighten the headset via the star fangled nut. It tightens fine, all is well, if a little stiff. But the main thing is that it doesn't rock back and forth. Anywho, after a bit of riding (especially after harsh taps or big up gaps to front) the headset becomes nice and fluid, however it rocks back and forth. So out comes Mr Allen key, tighten it up, it is fine if a little stiff blah blah blah, then it comes loose again :) I'm pretty sure the star fangled nut isn't being an arse and moving up the steerer or anything, but i can't think of what else could cause the repeated loosening of the headset. The stem bolts are done up tight etc., i'm confused <_< Thanks in advance kiddies, Woody :P
  13. Andy makes the bestest vids in the world evarz... Go to OTN and download them, all now dudes!
  14. Go 1085 brah... I went from a Giant 1040 to a Koxx 1065 (1090 with Ashton forks <_<) and my riding has improved LOADS over the time i've had the Koxx. I'm just under 6'. Everything other than bunnyhopping and manuals are sooo much easier, and has given me confidence with everything. I guess you could run a shorter stem if you feel it's too long? Or get a higher rise BB to make i feel shorter...

    Rear Disc

Firstly, if you're going to pedal lots, you need to step back and try something smaller. Going to pedal on purpose is a criminal act and should be dealt with accordingly. Secondly, go find a bike with a rear disk. Find a wall. Try and hit the rotor on the wall. You will notice it's in a really odd position, one that unless you're a 'tard, you shouldn't be in. When you miss a sidehop, you don't go anywhere near it. Seriously...Try it.
  16. Erm, if you're planning on running anything other than Greens on a grind, you better order in a second pair while you're at it - They will wear out quicker than you can say 'Hmmmm...' My Greens lasted about 3 weeks on a relitively rough grind, and i hear i was lucky to get that. My mates reds are run on a smooth rim, his were flaking off at the edges from simply doing a few backhops  Anyways, if you do anything get harder than the reds. If you want a brake in 2 weeks time, get the Greens. If you want a brake in more than 3 weeks time, get some decent pads... Erm, you've found Wally right?

    Rear Disc

British seem to have an 'oh em gee it's a disk, eugh!' type thing going on with disks... Loads of people from around the world use disks, some of which are better than every single person on this forum. Avid BB7 8" disks are popular on the rear. It's also super hard to hit a rear disk, waaay harder than hitting a front one.

    Half Link

The half links that come with the KMC chains look pretty shady. They look really skinny and weak compared to the rest of the chain. I've never actually used one for long as i decided it was safer to simply remove it. A chain's as only as strong as it's weakest link and all that jazz...
  20. It's nice that the hair is the same colour as the cock!

    .~

Looks like the fit one from Holby City. (Don't watch it enough to know her name!)
  22. I can't even forward hop with more than one finger on the rear brake haha. I've used one finger from day one. (On both front and rear)
