The question has been answered, but they seem to be the newer Ashtons. The brake mount has gone back to a single post mount, due o the discontinuation of the ET signature frame. The older style, double post mount fork can be purchased via Base, and is just a de-stickered version.

I havn't read all that stuff, most of it's likely to be arguing... Anyways, I'm running a standard King ISO (aluminium hubshell, standard axle) with a King Kog and it's fine *touch wood*. The King Kogs are a large outlay for a cog (around £35 or something full retail? I dunno :P) but my steel one is pretty much as new, and has been used constantly for just under a year. I won't go into the 'Is it better than X hub?' argument, as thats not what you asked...

No offense intended, but we've all seen a Hope C2... There's no real need to post up your bike parts unless it's particularly spangley, or new to the market.

The same as V8's but with 100% replaceable pins, sealed bearings and a magnesium body. Buy Terrorpins for more grip.

Use anything other than blacks and you'll see how utterly shite they are. Plazmatic CRM's, Coustelliers, or Koxx Bloxx are all favorites of mine.

My Monty grips had excellent feel, but hurt my hands as they were so thin my hand had to bend more than usual. Mine didn't rip. My Soyo's are as nice though, and you don't have to worry about them ripping. Ritchy WCS's are great.

Have a look on Weightweenie.com for weights. You won't go far wrong with an Avid Ultimate, or a Shimano XTR. Sram V's are very light, but flexy. Try the SL9.0 if you do go Sram. I'd stick with Shimano and Avid though. The weight difference between the 2 will be negligable.

I have some little LED ones that are uber-small and have a small elastic strap to keep them onto the bars/frame. I can't remember the name, but it's something like 'Back Upz' and they're available from Stif i think. They're not strictly road legal i don't think, (as the name suggests they're more for back up) however it's ALOT better than nothing, they have 3 modes - Fully on, slow flashing and fast flashing. Battery life comes from one of those small watch/hearing aid batterys and they last a fair while, especially when on the fast flash mode. Their main advantage is that they're so small and light (ha!) and can be removed and put in your pocket if you're at your riding spot.

I think people saying the grip of the Maxxis over the Michelin is better is due to them comparing the two with the Slow Reezay/Super Tacky compaonds rather than the Maxxpro. I've used both the ST and the Maxxpro and the grip difference is considerable. HOWEVER: The Maxxpro has lasted twice the amount of time the ST lasted. The Michelin has a softer compound than the Maxxpro. My Michelin gripped alot better than my Maxxpro did. The casing difference is personal preference - Some like the less bouncy feel of the Michelin, others like the responsive feel of the Maxxis. Granted, the Maxxis is lighter than the Michelin. Overall, i'd say go for the Michelin. My next tyre is gonna be a 2.2 Michy Comp 16. I'm currently running a 2.5 Maxxis Minion Maxxpro.

As Adam said, nylon appears to be totally the wrong material to make anything other than bushings and cheap clothes out of! Sure it's not latex or something? Either way, give the patches a go and see what happens. Also, get hold of some pre-glued patches (Leeches or Park ones work well) and see if they do the job :)
