    Plymouth Uni

Afternoon all, It's that time for deciding where i'll spend the next 4 years of my life! I'm looking at doing a Geology related course, and Plymouth Uni looks like a good place to do it. So... Anyone on here currently there/been there/hoping to go there? Looks like it'd be a good mix of city life with more rural areas close by - I'm a Londoner after all! Ta me dears, Woodford.

    New Frame

The BT sounds like a good deal, how long has it been used for? Condition? Also, i'd go with the BT if you're a more UCI rider. Check out the Onza T-Rex, too :)
  3. How cheap is cheap? I'd say avoid and get a second hand, decent trials frame. The frame is arguably THE most important part of a trials bike so you don't wanna skimp... EDIT: Just saw it was a mod :)
  4. The Chink and myself live in the Croydon/Bromley area, which is ~30 mins from central London. Tim is indeed from Kingston. Theres always someone at Shell on a Sunday at around 11. Look out for rides in the section of this forum, too. Stephen, Matt, the Hardmans, Chai, Adrian, Tim, Myself, The Chink and other selected people are usually around somewhere.
  5. Try-All, i'd prefere you to spend money with Dominique Hermance.
  6. I have no idea where this is gonna end up...

    What A Line...

He broke both his ankles from what i remember. Thats an old picture actually, he's changed sponsor a coupla times since then. That was back when he was relitively unknown, he's not winning everything like the Red Bull freerides etc.
  8. What a shit website haha. I think he'd have a coronary if he went on OTN, they speak about rape :- Some people need to realise whats the internet and whats not worth caring about! He looks damn sexy though.
  9. Click me for Trashzen fuelled happy and fun.
  10. Welcome back to the clan, young sir.
  11. Seen them before, i'm totally awesome. Oh the ironing... Anywho, they all look pretty gash to me, especially the wee mod.
  12. The Stealth came out, but was heavy. Andy P used one for a while i think (Y) There should be a thread on it somewhere, try a search
  13. Yeh, the majority of them go by the hub shell/free hub body cracking, so i hear. And as you have said, it feels like you're riding with an elastic band as a chain. Still, they're pretty cheap.
  14. Try contacting Topeak directly, or have a dig round your LBS and ask if they have one lying around out the back. I'm sure, with a bit of modding, any mounting clip will fit your pump. Good luck!
  15. Les Fluer by 4hero is an awesome song. But anyway, my choice of music is likely to be completely different to yours so...
  16. The silent clutch is the best hub Shimano make for trials. It has *instant* engagement, and lasts a fair while longer than their standard freehub efforts. It's heavy though, and tends to go very, very well when they do go. The whirring noise is likely to be the bearings.
  17. Nothing is better than the Mono in that price range.
  18. Onza T-Rex. Look second hand if you can't afford the RRP. From Tartybikes.
  19. Some people plain prefere the feel of a grind, like me. My grind wore out and i couldn't be arsed to re-do it, so i whacked a bit of tar on there (like the good ol' days!) and i thought it felt horrible, didn't hold as well and i had to keep fannying around with blocks of sticky black sheet. But i used it for ~2 years with little problem, 'til i found grinds.
  20. You could chop an inch or so off the bottom of the seat post, that'll enable you to lower the seat right down. Very sweet ride :P
  21. Christ, we're an argumentative lot today arn't we! Anywyas, take it to your LBS and ask them what length the BB is. If they know their stuff it'll only take like 5 mins. Write it down on a bit of paper and go home. Gte on the internet, find a place that sells the required BB, order it and smile as it turns up later that week. Fit it, and ride.
  22. Who was the bloke who bought it? I'm a Londoner, so i'm intrigued...
  23. It'll look good. Seriously, find a picture of a black Toxin/Coustellier/Pitbull and use your imagination.
  24. In the first year or so it doesn't matter. I only ever used one finger on the rear, but i used to use 2 on the front due to a Dia-Compe lever on unbranded calipers - i.e a shit brake. As soon as i went to a decent brake (magura) i used one and you'll realise the extra control you have straight away. After about one year it's generally considered you should be using one finger, as you'll need all the fingers you can get hold of to grasp the bar.
