Thomson? Roox? Couln't you knock one up? Surely a stem is pretty simple compared to the many frames you've built? EDIT: If you found a suitable length but with, say, 5 degrees rise, you could run it upside down and use stem stackers to make an effective 0 degree rise.

If the internet wasn't around, i think more/better biketrials magazines would sprout to fill the gap in the market.

Rim Tar - What Is It Nb: I Know Its Tar For Rims
N.Wood replied to Zoo_Monkey's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
Tar is also naturally occouring, found in the La Brea Tar pits of Los Angeles - one of the resons LA is so rich, it has natural oil deposits. Oil was made in the Carboniferous period, where England had a tropical climate, and is made from ancient plant and animal matter. Tar is anti-septic (Sailors used to slap bitumin on wounds to stop them from going septic...Bitumin was used to keep the ships water tight) and this anti-septic property has meant exceptional preservation of fossils found in the tar occours (other types of exceptional preservation include Amber and Burgess shale). Thought i might as well add some little facts as we all seem to be going on tangents  Anyways... Bitumin is pretty much worthless compared to oil, and is a plentiful commodity, so asking a roofer shouldn't be a problem. -
A diagram in paint might help, Pete.

I'm on 22:18 with 175's. Grrrr... Tried 22:19 and didn't get on with it, no power there for anything. I dunno how anyone can run 20:19!

Just to get things straight, it is the 2005 isn't it? Not the old, shitty design. Either way, it must be cracked somewhere, surely? Is your BB snapped? Or Axle snapped?

I have 3 sheds and a garage, go me. I would take pics, but one of them's filled with logs, the other with lawn mowers/grass seed/spades etc., the other with bikes, and the garage with a mix of bikes and tools. I won't bore you with the pics.

Too much monies para moi.

The Monty pads are designed for Marta's arn't they? The ones all the team riders run. Not sure if/when they'll be available but they seem to make the brake amazing, especially for the rear. If not, just stick with EBC's.

Don't use the word 'also', and always refer back to what subject you want to study. Isn't there a careers woman/man at school/college to help?

That Adamant is hot. Does no one remember the Adamant boosters/bashes?!

My 60a is fine, i've been running it since about 3 months before the Bikeshow, theres still another 2 months of wear on it, but i've just got bored of it :- My next tyre's gonna be a Michelin, the compound is somewhere inbetween a 42 and a 60a. Regarding punctures, i've never had a pinch when running this tyre, i had one when running a Super Tacky. You can tell the difference in grip, but when it's on dry concrete (which i ride most often) it doesn't matter. Also, Martyn Ashton uses the 60a compound :P

Dig it up from your road, or ask a plucky roofer for kettle tar.

I have the KOT forks, they're pretty much the same as Urbans/Pures but 415mm (Pures are 420, Urbans 400). Same steerer/disk mount/tubing, KOT forks are straight bladed. They're not as flexy as Pures. I like them, nice and light. These will probably snap before Onza Flyguys do though.

I found mine made me ride smoother, 'cos you're not doing half a revolution waiting for the hub to kick in. It's hard to tell whether your gaps will improve, i can gap further now than i could with my Hope, but then i've had a years more practise.. If you can afford it then go for it. There's gonna be people saying get a Profile/Hope but whatever, your money.

I can't see the pics? (Y) Have they been moved into the oh-so important bike pics thread? EDIT: Oh seen seen jelly bean, looks good (Y) Manuals and bunnyhops look fun! Nice ride.

What bike do you have at the moment? The bike you saw that was a grand and wasn't too special, well what do you expect?! Mountain biking is a relitivly young sport, and things get cheaper with time. Look at the range of bikes available now with better components than bikes costing nearly twice as much a few years ago. Technology has changed, components have had new technology drip down into the cheaper components etc. I've seen plenty of kids on great bikes who are still young. If you can afford the best then why not buy it? Also, your point about your bike being fine for the moment may well be true, but once you upgrade you'll realise that there are much better things out there. You will, thats not just me saying that.

As far as i know, it matters not - Put it on whichever way looks best, with Hopes it's usually opposite to the way they tel lyou to put them on.

CCF was enough for me.. Do you have a careers woman at school/college? She helped a coupla my mates get into the army/navy, and they went to open days and met some senior dude and lalala. Theres also recruitment places dotted around that can give info, admittedly it's gonna be one-sided but better than nothing eh.

I didn't read much of that up there, as it seems to have little to do with the topic title! Anyways, American/Canadian/Australian vids tend to have different music to the rock (and sub-divisions of it) that seems to be on every UK vid. Download some vids from AndyT, Kevin Shiramizu, Felix etc. and you'll see what i'm talking about.

I don't really understand your point, haha. Anyways, you said OTN was full of bell ends, Tart is on OTN? As is AndyT, Janson, Felix, TRA, Elan, Joel, Kevin, Peace, Jeremy Vanschoonhoven, and countless other people who know more about trials than me and you put together, and as definatly less of a bell end than you and me put together. So generalising a whole forum because of your opinions isn't necesarily the whole truth. Yes, there are dicks. Are there dicks on this forum? Yes. Are there awesome people on this forum? Yes. So saying OTN is full of bell ends isn't true.

Kenny Belaey's old Colnago or his KB Promodel with the new paintjob. Ashton's blue and white Cannondale (as pictured up there). Graham Wilhelm's Coustellier in khaki.
