I'm in some £25 suede Vans at the moment, seem to work well. The sole has the same herringbone effect the Try-All's have, but with a slightly thicker/more durable outsole. Never tried Pixie Boots, seem alright but can't bring myself to spend £80 on something that has the same effect as £25.

I'd go for something with about +20mm rise and around 1090 instead, personally. High BB's make it easier on the backwheel, sidehopping and rolling over stuff, but gaps, taps and 2 wheel balance are harder. Unless you're a full on UCI rider i'd go somewhere in the middle. If you're intending on bunnyhopping/manualing it, look elsewhere.
