  1. Each to their own - Stuff i watch doesn't pretend to be real, which is where my problem with WWE lies.
  2. Nice to know you think so highly of me. In no way did i comment on the dude's death, but in my humble opinion, anyone who follows and enjoys watching A: 2 people fight and B: 2 people fight as if it is real when it's staged and all a big show of actors is pretty silly. I did not say that his death was staged, i did not say Eddie was a foo', i simply asked the question as to whether the type of wrestling you spoke of was proper, real wrestling or the actors staging a play in an area. Sorry if i offended you, but you've read into my post too much and come up with ideas that wern't in there.
  3. No need for anti-freeze, real ballerz just piss on the hose.
  4. What kinda wrestling is this? I do hope it's not the American type (WWF? or am i getting confused with the World Wildlife Fund...hmm.) where it's staged and they send people through pre-sawn tables and such? Or the bit-more-hardcore-er version where they use barbed wire and have proper pain? If it's the first, then you're retarded.
  5. I'm using Troy Lee Air's, they're thuuper thin and loverly for the summer, but they're a bitch now it's getting a bit chilly round the ol' willy. Best. Gloves. Ever. <_<
  6. Sorry for stealing your old one off you Nick! I find the 185mm plenty powerful enough for me, but the other 185's i've felt havn't been quite so good. Sorry i couldn't help more!
  7. Yeh, i'd seriously consider gettign a new wheel with a Hope on it. Chain Reaction Cycles do some good wheel deals, i think my XC on D521 came to £104 inc. p+p. Tartywheels.co.uk are some of the strongest in the business.
  8. Not enough to make it worthwhile buying one over a Hope.
  9. Yep, they take standard cassettes. Yeh, you may as well get a new rim while you're at it - To be honest there's no shortage of these hubs if you look around on the second hand market. Rim wise, Mavic D521 (EX712? Someone clarify this if you'd be so kind :S ) are very strong and hold grinds well, but they're thin compared to the current crop of 38-48mm rims available now. This means they won't fit in most UCI frames (Koxx's/ZOO's/Echo's etc) without some kind of bodge. If you ride alot of street, have a look at an Onza Ronnie, if you're more natural-inclined, have a look at the new Echo 48mm rim. Both are available from Tartybikes.com. What frame and rim are you currently running?
  10. Wait 'till Christmas, mods are SO 90's.
  11. Your only real option is to upgrade the hub. Shimano hubs are utterly shite for trials, i'd rather scrape my teeth down a chalk board than use one. Save up and get either: A second hand Hope Mono/XC A DMR revolver hub and an ACS Claws. I ran Deore hubs back in the day, and luckily i could just transplant freehubs, but as you say, the Acera hubs are non-standard. Suck up the cost, it'll be worth it in the end - Dental treatment is expensive these days.
  12. Last year's winners Isabelle (i've partied with them :() sent a load of txts out to random phone numbers in the area getting them to vote, my mum got one. Good luck, one and all.
  13. :( Don't learn to tap on pallets, they move.
  14. Tis a shame, i thought last year's show was well laid out and organised, i really liked the new venue. Still, i'm sure something will pop up to replace it, otherwise MBUK won't be able to milk it for all it's worth in 3 months of the magazine.
  15. My standard answer for this is go on a ride and ask someone how to do it. They'll be able to evaluate your good/bad points and help you progress better.
  16. Practise practise practise... Also, think tuck. Sidehopping wise, go on a ride and ask a nice, semi-decent person to show you how to do it. if you can't get on rides, watch plenty of vids.
  17. Stopping a static wheel from moving, and stopping a moving wheel to static are different things. Trials needs a brake to be locked (why the Mono Trial was invented) and DH needs to stop a moving wheel (hence the 6 pot was invented) The 6 pots do nothing for lock, but greatly aid modulation and heat dissipation, neither of which are imperitive for trials.
  18. Anyone who says 'i don't wear one 'cos i look like a dick' neds a slap. Look at yourself - Helmet or no helmet, you're on a bike with no seat, hopping on a wall/rock. Cool :P I wear mine whenever i ride.
  19. He told me he'd never quit :turned: He lied, i'll ask him tonight for everyone, we're going out to the pub then he's staying round my house for the night. You can download his latest vid from craigleescott.co.uk
