I've never complained about the price of a cog, are they that much? My King Kog was £30 (with a Bromley Bike discount ), but to be fair the machining is awesome and it hasn't worn at all in about a year. If you just need a standard one, take it off an old cassette, though it may well dig in to yo' freehub body.

Now i know how to set up an Avid, definatly Avid for me. Of the 3 Mono Trial's i've felt, none offered as much power/bite as my 185mm BB7, and i've grown to like the feel of it. The Hope's felt spongey in comparison, and although the power felt nice, i just prefere my Avid. Not really tryed anyone elses' Avids but everyone who's been on my bikecycle has been suprised/impressed by the power.

Middleburn and Blackspire make some of the best chainrings available. As for the PCD (what does that stand for incidentally? I thought it was BCD - Bolt Circle Diameter?) you'd be best off measuring/asking on a MTB forum etc i recon

I'm running 22:18 on 175mm cranks on a King. 22:19 works well for stuff that needs a short run up and such, but not so great for gaps 'n' shiz.

Thats good, don't worry about it. And if you had a more violently out-of-shape wheel, it wouldn't involve a complete re-built, just some tweaking of different spokes to pull it back to a circle.

Have a look at Blackspire and Middleburn ones, they do the largest range and i know you can get a Blackspire 20T 5 arm.

I posted this in the last topic there was about these ( ), but the sole is taken from the same mould as the 661 Dually/Launch shoe. 661 are doing the sole in a super tacky version now too, may just be that sole Koxx have stuck on. Why did Koxx make the soles stiff?! If i wanted stiff soles i'd wear road shoes. Yay for pedal feel
