  1. That reminds me actually, riding near a resturant/bar once, and a very drunk, very attractive young woman came out asking for our numbers as she worked for MTV and was interested in doing an extreme sports article. She never rang though
  2. I'm getting pretty good at stunting on my bicycle, all the kids thing I'm cool 'cos i can do the longest wheely out of all the kids in my cul-de-sac.
  3. Just to throw another idea into the pot... Is trials unmarketable? Its pretty geeky in its true form, which is possibly why the whole gap/sidehop/drop riding is found on the internet/TV more readily. I feel BMX and DH has a cool image, trials is just geeky?
  4. I'm using a good ol' Hope XC.
  5. Get your own f**king Halfords thread you Nazis I'm picking the wheel up tommorow, will report any problems.
  6. /woodytrials Yeeeeeeeeeeeehh
  7. Word Robert... Hitting one bit at a time, and nothing would move no matter where i hit it! I hit it right next to the inside of the hubshell rather than the groove etc... I can assure everyone I'm only partially retarded, but luckily the good half of me is mechanically sound
  8. Haha, I wish i was a chicken! I tried it, but (possibly 'cos the hub is about 2 years old and hasn't been fully apart, ever?) nothing moved until the screwdriver bent the spring retainer. Ah well eh!
  9. Get the height before bringing it out into the open, you'll f**k that box big time. Practise in 'private' on some pallets. (P.s just watched your video on Google under the tap one, have you just learnt to tap? that has no taps in it. You also love putting your name in at every given opportunity!)
  10. OK so... Thankyou for the pics Janson, were very helpful Tried what you said, and it was not moving at all. Until it moved a little bit. Then, as you rightly suggested, my head xploded 'cos i took a screwdriver to a £300 hub. So, off i trotted to the King Importer (Bromley Bikes) and spoke to Howard in there, he gave me lots of things to think about. According to him, Kings NEVER slip, and the slipping trials riders feel is infact the grooved part of the axel end ripping out a bit of alu from the frame dropout. Also, King never made 'Trials Springs' as they were sold as a few years ago. The spring actually has very little to do with the engagement of the hub, its the pedalling force that moves the drive ring. Told him about stretching the spring, and he said that'd do nothing to help the hub. Apparently it takes the force of a Porsche Carerra engine to make a King slip. So..... Its having a spring retainer fitted, and I asked him nicely to run it on Tri-Flow, and we shall see what happens. Was an interesting excersise anyways, right or wrong about what he said, he certainly knows his way around a King. Shall update when i get it back on Friday
  11. It'll be fine, as long as you take your time and don't try to straighten it up once its gone in all wonky you'll be fine. Ben and myself havn't had a headset fitted by a shop for about 4 years
  12. Thats where King USA directed me...
  13. Doesn't seem to matter! Supposedly there was a bad batch causing the hub shells to split. I saw it happen once, not pretty.
  14. Hello all. I've had a King rear (ISO, standard axel, alu freehub body) for a couple of years now, and its recently started skipping lots, in the region of 2 an hour. I cleaned it out a mere 2 days ago, but has made no difference. The axel hasn't snapped, the insides looked as clean as they've always been, bearing preload done up correctly etc. Was wondering if I've dislodged the spring or something? I could take it to Bromley Bikes (though they'd whack a load of grease in it and tell me I'm a silly boy for riding trials) or get Tart or someone to look at it. However, this would obviously be time consuming, meaning i had no bike to ride. Any ideas?
  15. I wear mine whenever I'm on my bike.
  16. Klaxons - Atlantis to interzone Joy Division - She's lost control New Pornographers - Mystery hours Of Montreal - Requiem for OMM Sting and the Police - So lonely
  17. Awesome, thats a great advert for whatever tyres and brake pads you're running! Very good riding
  18. Ok, so I see the wood stuck on the gate where his rear wheel hits. Clearly to stop his rear wheel going through the gate. Fine. The bits that are circled, are you talking about the windows of the building behind him? The angle of the shot could make it seem like there are blocks stuck to the gate?
  19. Cools... As that was filmed in West Wickham, theres very little to do and doesn't show off his riding to the standard its really at. The camara used is yours Glen? Seems better than Ben's from what i remember. Ben and his riding style.... I think I've got used to it! P.s: That 180 up at the church to spin off to wedge... Thats the flukiest wedge I've ever seen Overall, not bad Neek.
  20. Afraid I'm back off to the City on Saturday, so won't be around
