  1. I especially like the second picture in. Good stuff, those Try-All stems are the most snap-happy I've seen for years.
  2. I'd definatelty reccomend going to uni on the coast, theres always somthing to do even if you just go for a wander by the sea. It also means that if theres nice sunny day in the winter/non holiday period, you can get down the beach quick without 600000 kids with spades and snotty nose ruining your experience.
  3. I don't really have a bad word to say about Plymouth as a city, other than the janners... But you're from up north so you'll be fine.
  4. Ah you got it, good stuff! Hope it all went well with Simon, bike looks excellent
  5. They look good, but could they sort out bearings? I'm on my 4th Pro2, and my 4th set of replaced bearings. I've cracked one and stripped the ratchet on 2 of them, crushed 2 of the smaller driveside bearings and 2 of the larger non drive bearings. Also snapped 4 springs. Still the best hub I've ever used, but from my point of view the 2 main points of improvement are the bearings and the ratchet stripping. How either of these could be improved I've no idea, but it seems the depth of threads on the ratchet isn't sufficient or needs stronger metal in the driveshell.
  6. Well this is my point Luke.
  7. Grippy as semen though?

Get on a train to Plymouth and ride with the likes of Rich Pearson and Matt Pengelly
  9. So I'm going to stay in Capel Curig for a month on Saturday. I'll have a bike and a car. The reason I'm going is to do work for my degree, but if i don't ride a few times I WILL go insane. Is there a North Wales crew who ride in these areas? Likely to be Sunday rides at a guess. But if people could pm me their numbers who may be interested, i'll wing you a text when I'm likely to be going out so you can show me a good time. Cheers then!
  10. 18 or 19 depending on how you like it. I've run 22:18 for years, which is pretty much the same as 18:15
  11. I'm with Natwest, they gave me a 3 year student railcard when I joined, which is useful if you ue trains alot. It alo has the usual overdraft too. Not your what the max of the overdraft is, but I think about £1300 or so. Fairly low interest though, so i only have a few hundred in there, the rest is in a higher interest child account.
  12. I ain't no deer son. Well this is a trials website and I was infact insinuating it would be for trials use, yes.

Still in business, Phil is just concentrating on his new shop as far as I know
  14. As a random question, why don't tyre manufacturers produce lighter downhill style tyres (eg Maxxis Minion) with a kevlar bead instead of steel? Surely they'd just lay in a kevlar bead instead of steel, wouldn't really need any extra tooling. Might knock 100g or so off per tyre?
  15. I remember going on a ride in Worthing probably 7 years ago when I was on my Azonic DS1, seeing you, Lee McCaw and others ride, you were the best riders I'd ever seen! That was a good day... Even though it was pissing it down. Anyways, I've only done one comp in my life which was awesome. The most local to you would be the Essex (EBTC) rounds. Good luck!
  16. You can also buy it from Polish Dave round the corner.

    Hope Hub

Sounds like you've done the right things... Were the springs looking good? Did it all reassemble ok? Usually taking apart, cleaning and lightly lubing does the trick. As for sending it to Hope, It depends really. They don't build wheels for repairs. Its easier and cheaper to send the hub if you can easily build the wheel abck up again. I've send hubs back to Hope... 6 times now, and its just easier to take the wheel apart and send the hub.
  18. Oddly enough, this came up in one of my thoughts of the day... Though my lack of knowledge when it comes to all things camera and computer related left me to think about the simpler things in life, such as whether its a Nike sock day, or a Next sock day. Really liked the video though Inur, good to see progress from a year ago too. Glad you nailed that sidehop you were after!
  19. Tie a small weight to a thin bit of string and dangle that down the hole till it comes out the end hole? Once you get it through you could tie/clamp the magura line to it and just pull it through? Must be an easier way though...
  20. Alot of my friends from school are earning more money than i am now, they're on like £14-£16k p/a doing various jobs from mechanics to retail etc. Yeah sure they're earning more and don't have a student loan to pay back and have more expendable cash than some people. Good for them, and it seems like a good position to be in. BUT When I come out of uni I'll (hopefully) be going straight into a job earning more than they do, even with paying back my loan. I've saved about £3k of my loan from the past 2 years which may or may not have been worth doing, but hasn't affected me in many ways. Also, the ceiling on the jobs I'm looking at are £100k+, whereas many of my friends who didn't go to uni will be earning £20k p/a for the rest of their lives. Not to mention the social/networking/oppotunities you miss out on by not going to uni. Theres likely to be a bias to the discussion, with each party (students and non students) saying they're in the stronger position, but theres no way in hell I'd miss out on uni now I've experienced it, and will hopefully be in a position to be able send my kids to uni in the future.
  21. Why would you pay money for something you can get free on the intrawebz? Trials magazines have tried, and failed, before.
  22. People I know, graduates from my university doing exactly the same degree as me in the areas I'd want to go in. Plus looking at jobs in various locations. Plus what numerous companies have told me they pay graduates at various career fayres and such. What degree do you have out of interest 'Extreme_Biker0'?
  23. You can usually tell by looking at the top of the rim (tyre side), if its got a nice rounded/chamfered edge you're still good, if its sharp you've only got a little while left before it dies.
