  1. They look sweet, hopefully they'll still be made of polyfilla like the old ones were!
  2. I'm not sure, but those are some truely touching lyrics.
  3. The more expensive they get, the better geometry they have. Will be interesting to see some real life photos, paintjobs look rad.
  4. I havn't been up there so correct me if theres already this stuff, but objects based around the current UCI courses (man made, big pillars/square concrete blocks etc) would be good for the UK to have. Also maybe one large feature (as commented on in Revolvers post) that included a hooking wall (could be angled tapering to a steeper angle to verticle with a height increase)/tapping wall/steep uneven side? Something to help riders learn the techniques needed in todays comps by giving them the walls/objects to learn on, and work their way up. I recon the key to it being have variety, so small walls for the young ones and big, challenging ones for better riders. Also plan ahead for the future, with gaps/ups/tech stuff that are out of some peoples reach at the moment, but gives them something to aim for to improve. Er, I went off on a tangent there, but some of it may be of use to you Ali
  5. The whole 50-50 Thats It DVD is awesome, Cameron Wood's section being my favorite.
  6. Nice one Stephen, good to see you cats are still riding! Good to see the Leeson is still holding up too, its rad. Enjoyed it lots, will let you know if I'm ever down your end of the world
  7. Nah it wasn't you Rich, was some bey who looked like Steve Peat. Anyways, I'll come up to Botter Rock if I can get a lift, I know a couple of people are going so hopefully I'll be there too
  8. No, the trials one has a shorter freehub body only allowing a max of 6 speeds.
  9. He probably could have, but thats not why we ride trials. If he tried his hardest to win, I don't think we would have had such a laugh. I guess thats an isolated incident, but occured on my first and only comp and although it hasn't put me off them, its just another reason why we should shred the gnar locally.
  10. You must be a right laugh down the pub...
  11. As 'Joe Public', I've made up my mind for sure. Trialtech it is.
  12. That was in my local bike shop about 4 years ago, as they're the UK distributors for Yeti. Seem to remember it weighed a tonne.
  13. From what you're saying, i would have thought the snapped spring is a seperate issue, and one which is pretty common. I've snapped about 6 springs in the 4 different Pro2's I've had, and it makes them skip every so often but drive is still fine because it still has another 3 engaging. I recon you've stripped the ratchet ring too, which is why if you pedal lightly you can move (the ratchet ring isn't being spun around, like its meant to be) but if you put any pressure on it the ratchet spins inside the hubshell causing the slipping and loss of drive. Hope your distributor sorts it out for you
  14. How high do you like your bottom brackets? I'd get a Hydroxx personally, but thats 'cos the geo suits me with the higher bb and such.
  15. Lived in London all my life, apart from the past 3 years I've been in Plymouth. Both have their plus points, couldn't choose between 'em. Edit: f**k it, Devon is rad.
  16. Whats the advantage of doing it that way round? Rather than just stick a 72.5 degree headangle on the frame in the first place....
  17. Looks like a sweet place for a post ride bbq.
  18. Select are good, Tarty are also excellent. I believe Phil (Mr Select Bikes) has been busy working on a bricks and mortar shop recently so his website may be slightly dated looking, but the service is still great
  19. Word... i've done it to 2 of mine so far.
  20. 1. Getting there plus my own personal laziness usually means I can't go unless someone else can give me a lift. Its often not feasible to go via train to a field in the middle of nowhere. 2. I don't like rules 3. People take it too seriously. The one and only comp i've entered we were told by the observer to take it more seriously. (Rich, this happened to be a Tupman comp...) 4. Riding in mud doesn't interest me. Rocks, indoor comps (especially man made ones such as the Exeter comp, really wish I could have gone) and such would be what I'm interested in riding.
  21. Yeah nice one bro, good advice.
