  1. Tim are you saying Adam, myself and Rob are lying about the Plazmatic pads bought from Fred Savage? Do you acknowledge we wanted CRMs, went to a UK distributor, bought some pads labelled as Plazmatic CRMs and found them to be very badly performing and not the same as the original compound?
  2. Nice to see all the women snowmen (snowgirls?) and vaginas in here.
  3. Can I just say I back up Adam entirely, as a big fan of the old CRMs I'm not one to talk shit about a product just because its the thing to do. I've bought 3 pairs of pads off Fred Savage, including one pair of ltd edition clear ones. Every pair were shocking, one wore down within 3 minutes on a worn grind without dragging down a hill, just disintegrated from normal trials use. I'm not sure you can say they are the same when theres so much evidence to to contrary.
  4. Had good reaults with my Seiko titanium, but may be over your budget at £250
  5. Newquay isn't really a nice place, bit of a shit hole really! Best riding is Cligga head that is less than 10 miles away. Plymouth is really good for street riding, with a bit of natural on the seafront. 40 mins outside of Plymouth gets you to some of the best natural in the UK, Dartmoor.
  6. I like them, similar to the old Koxx browns but with more bite and a little less hold. My favorite pads at the moment.
  7. Kept coming off after locktiting and new lockring and stuff, have now superglued it on.
  8. Up until about 30 seconds before this photo was taken I was running a black old school try-all crank thats 5mm shorter than the non driveside crank that I nicked off Porter.
  9. Mono Trial du monde front, Magura rear.
  10. Ain't tried it yet, good chance the lockring is still gonna fall off after 16 seconds, but we'll see.
  11. 99% chance its something to do with politics and budgets. I agree with you JD it does sorta make sense having a few kicking around. You know where they put sand on the tracks for extra grip? This could be mixed with road salt to help with low snow fall, though would probably be slightly ineffective for large snow drifts. I'm not exactly a train engineer though!
  12. I didn't pay any more than £55 for the pedals, came up on ebay. Usually a few around if you have a look Rim is a try-All Holes with circular holes, as far as i know pretty similar to standard Try-Alls. Offset seems very good, i know a few people had issues with the H hubs on standard rims as the spokes seemed to undo themselves. no such problems here. No idea on weight, probably light-ish or something. The Rain King is a pre production tyre, same deal as Ali's Kaiser. As far as i'm aware its the only one in use for trials at the moment. The sidewalls are nuts, completely different to the Rubber Queen you're probably thinking about. Not worried about punctures AT ALL, loads stiffer than Maxxis Dual Ply.
  13. Had this for about a month now, really enjoying it. Changes from standard: Trialtech bars Trialtech forks King headset Light tubes f+r ENO freewheel Koxx Croco Brown pads Continental Rain King rear tyre Mag/ti pedals Hope Mono Trial 200mm '08 Echo lever blade Ti stem bolts
  14. I guess they wouldn't want a plough on the front of the train all year round, and even the ploughs themselves are super expensive. There probably are a few floatign around, but not enough to make much of a difference. Think about all the rail networks in the uk, if there were say 10 ploughs around they'd be able to clear a few lines, but nowhere near enough.
  15. Yeah I heard someone (Hendrix I think?) asking why they can't have snow plows on trains to clear the snow. Well they could, but they'd have to spend millions on whats actually some very expensive plant thats gonna be sitting doing nothing all year round, except for maybe a few times every few years. Its the cost:benefit ratio, its just not worth it.

    Snail Cams?

Not had any problems with (notched) snail cams, and I'm used to good old tensioners.
  17. So is this gonna be the decent, well loved 'never changed' CRM compound from years ago that worked amazingly and no one ever had any problems with? Or the new 'never changed' compound that wouldn't work for shit no matter what you did with it? They look good, hope they made the right decision with the compound.
  18. I've got an '07 Specialized Allez that I got for £50 nearly brand new but had been in a crash so replaced forks with Bontrager Carbons the shop had lying around and that was that. Upgraded the brakepads and tyres to Conti GP4000s and added lights and stuff. I rarely use it, but is good for getting to and from parties/going for quick blasts/night time hacking around/taxi racing.
  19. Yeah had a seriously good time for sure, which is what matters!
  20. Well, some of you do anyway haha! Glad I managed to sneak in the top 10 juniors somehow though.
  21. I'm not sure about Brimham rocks/places up north as I've never been, but as far as I can tell the only way to hold such an event would be with man-made obstacles like the UCI world cups.
