  1. " I *heart* dick" Stay classy Plymouth! Anyways good photos, looked like fun! Good to see Darren out again!
  2. Good stuff! First bit goes someway to show how slippery it was in the wet! Nice vid, cheers.
  3. Found Crocos to be good to start off with, having more bite than old Browns but slightly less hold. However their perfomance seemed to deteriorate, even after a fresh grind they lost hold and bite. This happened on at least 2 peoples bikes.
  4. I told them to use Tri-Flow, and watched them do it (its my local bike shop and know them personally).
  5. The furthest North Rob has ever been... I'm at home still, so can't make it
  6. To be honest, us Plymouth crew have used pretty much every pad under the sun between us, and all still agree the old Koxx Browns are the best.
  7. Nah, King UK serviced it and after it still skipped I had a chat with them, they denied Kings could ever skip and it was just the axle turning in the frame that was causing the skipping I was feeling... I sold it to an XC rider.
  8. Normally I agree with you but with my King nothing could stop the skipping, it was absolutely spotless, skipped with a new drive ring and spring, on hard preloads and while just riding along. Sometimes you just get a bad 'un....
  9. Was it like that from the start? Or did it happen half way through the trip? I don't remember seeing it, though probably wasn't looking for a hole in the roof...
  10. I couldn't really vote, as theres my opinion on Kings is middling... I owned one for a year and a bit, and after the first 8 months or so it was the worst non-Shimano hub I've ever used. It skipped constantly (yeah it was cleaned out, both by myself and King UK who used Tri-flow on my request) and the final straw was it skipping a full rotation on a gap up to front. I swapped to a Pro2 and had alot more confidence, as they NEVER skipped.... (Til they cracked, but thats a different matter) So for me, my experience wasn't great. HOWEVER II know plenty of people who have had theirs for years and they havn't missed a beat, maintained or not. If you're lucky, it'll be the best hub you've ever owned. If you're not, a Pro2 or even better and ENO is a better choice.
  11. Mike do you have that pic of your/Pierre's drop gap to front at the Kortrijk comp? That looked pretty scary haha!
  12. I hear Cogs are on the look out for young nubile girls...
  13. If you strip the ratchet, it means you strip the thread where it threads into the alu shell. If this happens (which it will, probably) then you need a new shell and will have to de-lace it anyway. The thread on th alu shell will strip before the hardened steel ratchet ring is damaged.
  14. Did you buy it off George Gori or someone?
  15. Have you seen Benito up close? He's far from skinny. The Cousts are pretty 'skinny', but have ALOT of muscle in all the right places ( ), and no fat or muscle where they don't need it. Muscle weighs more than fat. Anyways, go for 160mm, and I'd stick to a Hope - Others (Maguras/Avids etc) have all been tried but seems people always return to Hope.
  16. I've sent one back that was cracked and 3 back that were stripped... All of them were sent back free of charge.
  17. He just has loads of PROTEIN and POWERBARS to keep him jacked and tan. Looks like a fun ride!
  18. Giacomo has a WAY better missus though.
  19. If your ratchets f**ked you're gonna need to de-build the wheel anyway. If you send the whole wheel all they'll do is swap the old internals into a new shell and strap it to your wheel and send it back. De-build your wheel, send your hub and re-build your wheel when they send you a new one. It cost me less than a fiver to send a hub to the US, so sending a hub to Yorkshire won't be much at all.
  20. Totally agree with Ali... For the moment though (while the Kaisers/Rain Kings arn't out), Maxxis is a good choice.
  21. They look pretty sweet in the flesh, and don't look 1000 miles long either.
