  1. I started on a GT Talera which cost me £399 and had RockShox Indy C sus forks and a steel frame that wouldn't fit a 2.1" tyre in the back. Trials riders starting now have such better bikes to start them off, anyone who started riding pre-2000 had it so much harder!
  2. Non-predictive multipress because I'm stuck in the past.

Slinger first, Butler second, Wilson third.
  4. Thats cool. Yeah I'm in Plymouth most of the time, but will be back in the summer probably, but its just more enjoyment down here, especially for riding. Keep pestering Ben, i'm sure he'll fancy a ride at some point, usually weekends. Its a good place to ride if you know where to look, and getting up a bar height or less wall is challenging. It has quite a bit for a little town. Anyways i'll probably see you around!
  5. 80-90A, but this kinda means f**k all as they seem to be a different 'standard'
  6. Sucks, I'll keep an eye out for it in Plymouth and stuff. Cheers for the trial today btw!
  7. Yeah, try-All for me... Seems to have a good weight/puncture resistance/grip combo that other tyres can't match. Maxxis are heavier, Contis don't grip as well and are more puncture prone.
  8. Good stuff, cheers.
  9. Sorry to go offtopic (though Ali has pretty much said what i was gonna say!), but any ideas on arrival time and price of TNN pads?
  10. I don't even know what it is but thats a pretty good name for sure.
  11. Well you never can trust the French, you're right to be cautious haha!
  12. Really? I dunno, I'm just going on what he said - I don't see any reason why alot of them wouldn't bother to tighten their chains. Pretty much all of the Super Elites and some of the Elites at Koxx days were running their chains slack. Must be some reason behind it, unless you have other ideas?
  13. If the bearings are shot you can just get the code off the side and get them from any decent bearing supplier... I used to crush bearings all the time, and whilst they may not be up to the quality of the original bearings, it saved a whole lot of postage and hassle. I have a load of bearings spare here actually, might have one thats fits.
  14. Bit more slack for half pedal ups and stuff, gives more momentum before the freewheel engages giving a tiny bit more power. Also for really short run ups where they can back pedal a bit before the freewheel engages to give effectively a bit more run up. I guess the question of 'why don't they just use shit freewheels' comes up, but it gives them the choice of having a nice fast engagement or a not so fast engagement, depending on preload.
  15. Their chains are like that for a reason bro, not because they can't set up bikes...

Yeah, the Pinnacles tend to be really well specced for the money (around the same standard of the boardmans, maybe slightly lower) but the frames are pretty well sorted making a really good all round package.
  17. Still not convinced they were running proto Try-All tyres, but there we are... Freewheel sounded pretty nuts!

Yeah Bone Hill is pretty close, should come up if you whack it into Google maps.
  19. Cheers for the heads up.
  20. Bike looks good, I like the Slates. I see you're running the Monty freewheel not the Rockman... Any reason or they not sent one to you yet?
  21. Cheers for the vids, brings back memories! Matt was in the marines, not sure if he's still doing that though.
  22. Cool, looked like fun! Not that I know who half those people are, but there we go.
