Only thing I ever have problems with these days are brakes (rear only actualy, front mono trial is always perfect), freewheels and chains. All the rest is perfectly fine for me.

No they don't If they did, surely you'd be riding a Da Bomb or Base TA26? Like Ad said, watches all tell the same time, but some are worth more than your cars and some are less than a fiver. Like anything, there are items with special touches, better materials, better design, more exclusivity etc etc. Tak cufflinks as a very basic example. ALL they do is stop your cuffs coming apart. You could use a split pin. But there are ones that cost £15 grand.

Firstly: The sprocket can be as loose as it want and as long as the lockring is in place it ain't going anywhere. You realise the whole cycling industry prefers splined to screw on? Secondly: If you're enough of a spastic to cross thread a lockring, you are also enough of a spastic to crossthread a screw on sprocket?

Your tyre will be covering the inside though? What do you mean?

I'm using a Try-All Holes single walled rear rim and its been fine. No more out of true than when I built it a few months back, same sidewall stiffness and all that.

Try tightening the cups, if they're tight your bearings are probably gone.
