Fire XCs are horrible I'm after a softer compound tyre (hence Maxxis STs/Schwalbe EVO compounds). And Racing Ralphs for winter? No thanks. Will keep them in mind for summer though

I've got the hard (70a) Maxxis 1.9 Highroller eXCeption tyres on my Intense and I'm finding them pretty skittish on wet loose surfaces. They're light but I'm used to grippier tyres. Anyways, I'm thinking 2.35 Maxxis Minion Kevlar ST Single Plys which should be much grippier with not too much of a weight penalty. Also looked at Schwalbe Nobby Nics whic looked good, but are pretty expensive. What do you guys use? I know a couple peeps (Tic/Tomm?) have proper bikes. Cheers then!
