  1. Maxxis minion/highroller 2.5 dual ply super tacky
  2. Front is really good, rear isn't to my taste.
  3. I ran 18:15 with Rain King/Der Kaiser and trialtech chain with Try-all H hub and 2 snail cams. I found the snail cams didnt have enough adjustment, so i got a large (~20mm) washer to go through the snail cam bolt on the inside of the frame so the snailcam rested on the washer rather than the bolt. This gave the extra adjustment i needed for decent chain tension. Never had a problem with brake set up though.
  4. That would be ideal, but I'm a bit dubious of half links having snapped a few in the past. Anyone (Adam/Stan) know if these are more suitable than the Gusset style half link chains?
  5. Right so I got myself a Control after my Yaabaa snapped. Running 18:15 with Trialtech Lite chain, HS33s with TNN mounts, try-All 2 bolt booster and Hole rim/Der Kaiser rear tyre. My problem is that with the correct tension in the chain (and enough room for the tyre), the mounts do not line up with the rim. The mounts could do with being welded 5mm lower. With the TNN clamps at their limit adjusted all the way down, the pads rub on the tyre about 2-3mm. So, 2 ways around it - Move wheel forward in dropouts and use 74 Kingz style tensioner on the chain, or cut out the top part of the brake clamp to give more travel. Anyone have this problem/got around it? Any problems with cutting the top part out of the brake clamp?
  6. The majority of freehubs have disk mounts as standard, just the way it is. Just saying the price of a new Pro2 might be out of your budget, but a second hand one will be infinately better than even a new Deng freehub. Get one off a trusted member and you'll be alreet.
  7. Hope Pro2 would be your best bet - Can pick them up in the classifieds on here now and again for cheaps.
  8. Craig, most of Tauntons riding is in the city centre right? The usual kinda spots... Anything good outside of it?
  9. I'm willing to bet more people say they're good than bad.
  10. We ride Taunton now and again, but mainly spend our days on the coast between Portland, Lyme Regis, Seaton, Sidmouth, Dawlish and Plymouth. Lyme, Sidmouth and Seaton are fairly close to you. Were a couple riders in Chard but not sure they're still about. I live in Tiverton but theres f**k all to do here so end up at Sidmouth mostly.

    Trials Websites

Um... "Blog about stuff + Post videos + Post pictures + Update comp results + Promote their sponsors + Direct potential sponsors to + Make a name for themselves (think of people who spend time on Damon Watson's site so they can see all his videos etc)" Isn't that what people use this forum to do?

    Freewheels ?

Blowing it out of all proportion - The dodgy batch never left the factory. Get an Echo SL/TR you won't regret it.
  14. Stripped ratchet in Pro 2? Or stripped crank/cog threads. Got a mates driveside crank to whack on and see if the problem is still there?
  15. Don't bother with skins bro.
  16. I'd go WD40/GT 85/ whatever else over 3 in 1 as 3 in 1 has a tendency to stick everything together on part like pistons.
  17. Fisrst time mine went i was at the top of a 3 set and when you are static and kinda lift the whole bike forward (like a wheelswap/wheel switch just horizontal not vertical) to land in a manual on the steps. Thought my tyre had slipped on some wetness/moss/bird shit. The ratchet then makes a horrible scraping/threading noise if you continue to turn the crank. Second time was setting up for a sidehop off a pointy rock, same thing happens. Seems to be pretty catastrophic, can't see it stripping then sorta being 'ok' after. Ratchet ring teeth also seem to chip now and again, meaning the pawls/springs get stuck and kinda stick in place. Freehub bearings going is the most common cause of odd noises/slight skipping/general strangeness, so I'd check them if you've not already
  18. Start of 2005 I think... 5 years ago, jeepers. There she is
  19. Has hope done anything about the ratchet rings stripping? That was my main concern with them, but still think they're the best value cassette hub out there. THE best if you get a bad King
  20. Wasn't one of my lot... Between everyone in this thread i think its safe to say we'd know if it was a trials rider.
  21. Gets easier as you get better I found... People are more impressed by it than pissed off. Just don't be a twat.
  22. Trialtech lite chain AKA KMC Z510 (or something, cant remember off the top of my head) available from Tartybeys.co.uk
