  1. I'd say there was a difference between 'clean' and being stark, boring and somewhat uninteresting. From a punters point of view it seems like all groups of people who are trying to be different all end up being the same.
  2. Everyone has been there bro, just gotta keep at it

Like trials riders even talk to women anyway.
  4. Oh my lord where are my skrimps. Jesus who gives a shit if a tiny piece of code is wrong and build is 'shoddy' if I, the intended user, can go look at pictures of some lovely Inspired produce and pictures of Ali C's cute bum? All this talk of design and quality and bullshit doesn't matter when the website WORKS and I get what I want from it.

    You'll do, lets roll.
  6. Umm... usually your frame does. To be honest you just need a short bolt to go in the hole in your frame, they're only there to give something for the cam to butt up against. Have a look in your tool box/local hardware store for a bolt that'll fit.
  7. Put bolt in your frame (head on inside) Put snailcam on axle (take off axle bolts, slide cam on, put bolts back on) Put wheel in frame with cams on inward/onboard/towards hub side of frame, bolt up. Then adjust using the tarty guide.
  8. Stay with stock... Depends where you ride I guess, everyone I ride with on a regular basis rides stock/24". But thats because I dont hang with homos.
  9. James has a Marin sitting in his shed, cant remember details but sounds about what you're after.
  10. I'd save the money and spend it on hookers instead.
  11. People have cracked the 4 bolt trialtechs - But they're about the best of the bunch I'd say.
  12. Jut chuck them randomly on the floor and make some gaps, have a big stack in the middle (maybe 3?) then the rest lying about within gapping distance. Get some bricks/wood and prop one end up to make it sloped. Just see what happens, no science to it. When you get bored of gaps set them up with them all stacked up to sidehop/tap. Put one at an angle to hook.
  13. Echo did a ruddy good job of welding the brake mounts about 5mm too high up the seatstay. I've run mine with 18:15 with a trialtech chain and a DK fits ok (with the side knobs trimmed) but the brake rubs on the tyre at max adjustment. I now run a halflink and a rain king (slightly thinner tread pattern than a DK) and the brake works fine, everything is all good but it does rub under hard accelleration. Thats with a stretched chain. When I get a new chain I'll have to take the hald link out, run it till it stretches then put the half link back in.
  14. Not tried but: 1. if it does work you'll have to run it so far back in the dropouts your brake won't line up. 2. My DK/Rain Kings just about fit ith the brake not lined up, ith a halflink they do fit but rub under hard accelleration. I have also chopped the side knobbles down. 3. Dont bother, get 2.5 max. Despite what you may be thinking it wont grip better, make you cooler, be bouncier or make you in any way a better rider 'cos you'll be hauling a huge tyre about all the time.
  15. Yes Tomacliffe! Tomo is one jacked motherf**ker so Boswell any questions about weights and that he'll have the answer to.
  16. If you know how to hook properly they're fine... What you're saying is dont do taps, or gaps to front as they're not good for your forks either?
  17. I've never been, but from what I've heard its the Bronx.
  18. Your kids would sound mad posh if you kept the double barrel surname.
  19. Well to you it may be worth getting a Pig, to others its not I mentioned the SL because its relitively cheap, lighter than most, has sealed bearings and will last forever if you look after it. The only problem with Pigs is they weigh so much and I found replacing the bearings wasnt easy as they are oversized so hard to source. For someone just starting out a pig will do fine. More experienced riders will notice the weight. I mean totally up to you, like you said budget is important.
  20. Umm.. Random list of good parts off the top of my head. Most (if not all) available from tartybikes.co.uk. Echo SL headset. Trialtech ISIS BB and cranks Echo TR freewheel Magura HS33 rear with a pad that suits you Front hope mono trial/avid bb7/magura louise FR Try-all front tyre, maxxis minion dual ply super tacky rear Trialtech bars Tartybikes stem Trialtech/Echo forks (whatever you like the look of) Trialtech/koxx rims on echo TR hubs Rohloff tensioner Trialtech chain Wellgo mag pedals Whatever grips/tubes Thats a quick random list of a well specced but not baller as f**k bike. Others will have certain parts they dislike, some won't. Have a look on tartybikes.co.uk and see what you like the look/price of. If you ring them they can also spec the bike for you.
  21. Splined rear cogs/splined cranks would be ideal. Rear screw on cogs are a pain in the arse.
  22. Surely thats the same for most countries?
  23. How long have you been riding? You seem to have a "running before you can walk" style. Nice bails though
  24. He could be talking shit to get you to spend money at his shop. You got a mate who knows his stuff who you'd trust to give an honest opinion?
