    New Hs33 Brake

Snapped my '05 lever last night, sweet. If this one is stronger I dont really give a shit what it looks like. Mark, you said the blades are pinned in... If you twat the blade against a rock and it bends/snaps, can you replace just the blade?
  4. It would work as in the wheel would go round when you pedal, but it would be way too easy/light gearing. Ideally you'd want 22:18 or 18:15 depending on what you're after. EDIT: Sorry thats for stock. Mod will be 18:12 ideally.
  5. If it helps I've got a selection of pretty much new dual ply tyres... 2.5 minion f Dual Ply super tacky (with every other side knobble shaved), 2.5 Try-all Stiky rear, 2.5 Dual ply Highroller ST.
  6. Its dogshit... The one thing I dislike about my Control. I ran a halflink which solved all my problems till about a month later and it snapped in half rendering my knuckles free from skin. Now I whack a brand new chain on, wait for it to stretch, then theres just about enough room to take a link out and slam the wheel towards the frame. Just gotta watch out for the tyre clearance. This is on 18:15 with trialtech chain, Echo SL freewheel Echo ti cog, Hole rim and Rain King.
  7. Trialtech, Hole, Rockman (same as hole), Atomz. Any will be fine. Atomz is lighter, possibly weaker. Trialtech (if i remember rightly) is heavier, possibly stronger.

    Sat Navs?

Only ever tried one, but my ~£170 Garmin Nuvi 1380t (or someshit) does a good job. Its widescreen gives a nicer, clearer view than the squarer ones. Garmins also have (imo) a better mounting system to Tomtoms. To be honest I'd just pop into halfords and have a read through what the benefits of each model has. Tomtom and Garmin have good reputations, cant go wrong with either really.
  9. Dont bother with tricks. The key is to LINK moves. A wheelswap up a rock to a gap to another rock to a sidehop up in one decent line in an interesting location (must have plenty of rocks up in the Highlands?) would be much etter to watch than a one off trick.
  10. Damn, Inverness is a bike theft hotspot... First your mate's Because, now this!
  11. Better than no picture, yeah. People will remember a pic of a bike better than a list of parts.

I dont think I've ever snapped a Trialtech chain in about 2 years of using them ( I replace them every 4 months or so) and have never used a split link. Yesterday however, I snapped a month old Try-All half link straight down the middle. This was used in conjunction with a split link to stop the links splaying. The chain had about 4 joins in it (made up from leftovers...I'm a gyppo) and the half link snapped. Spomge, at a complete guesstamation, I'd say they stretched around half as much as a standard K810/K710.

Thats just you (or whoever joined it) not being able to operate a chain tool.

Was that the links snapping or the chain pulling apart?
  15. He's just said and shown theres not enough space for mole grips or an adjustable in there.
  16. Oh my god you did not just do that Modifiedriderwhatsit....
  17. Then get a map of the southwest and hit that shit up.
  18. You'd be in for a treat if the weather wasn't so shit. Plymouth street is pretty rad. Dartmoor: Burrator, Coombestone tor, Bonehill, Hound Tor plus many others. Burrator is about 20 mins out of plymouth towards Tavistock. You'll shit your pants. One of the UK's best natural spots that only about 6 different people have ever ridden. Cornwall: Cligga head nr Perranporth, north coast. Lamorna Cove near Mousehole and Lands End, south coast. Those are my two favorite spots though there are 5797596 others.
  19. Thinly veiled arrogance thread.
  20. Yeah mine does it, been fine for ages.
  21. Just do us a favour and listen to whats being said. You arguing over why you think its worth more isnt going to make someone pay more for it.
