  1. Try here for a how-to guide, go to balance and then to rear wheel balance. Following that guide it'l come to you eventually, after that its just practise. Also some terms on that page that might need explained: Good foot - the foot you have forward when riding That should be it
  2. The brake booster should stop the frame flexing And i think the tensile freewheel is a front freewheel, so it doesn't go on a hub. If this is wrong hopefully someone will correct me. I'm afraid i don't know the answer to your other question as i'm new but hope i helped
  3. Also if you ever need to fix them up again, Biff wrote a great guide here on magura hs33 setup, which i will definitely be using when i get my t-bird.
  4. Well i never really introduced myself so here goes: My name is Scott i'm 15 and live in Coatbridge near Glasgow in bonnie Scotland. I am new to trials and have just bought a second hand standard spec Onza t-bird as my first trials bike, which should arrive next week. I ride alone at the moment apart from my wee brother, but he's not too into trials. Also i'd just like to say thanks to some members who have been really helpful and tolerant so far in answering my questions and i hope they'll continue to be.
  5. Is that for the 2005 model? cheers
  6. What size of rims are on the 2005 t-bird, is it 19'' or 20''? I know the 2006 model is 19'' but unsure about previous model. thanks
  7. I really like Guns N Roses, went to see them in glasgow! Best concert ever i might add! I'm also into ac/dc, iron maiden, u2, snow patrol, oasis and that sort of thing. I like quite a mix.
  8. Thanks for the detailed explanations. Does something like the t-bird come with a rear freewheel then? And how easy is it to change to a front freewheel? Also another newbie question but what is a bb? cheers
  9. Hi there, I have been reading a few topics about freewheels and being new to trials I have no idea what they do or how they help your riding. So can someone please explain to me what they do,how they help and what differences are noticed with them? I have tried searching and went through 6 pages of results but couldn't find anything that said what they did and how they helped. Thanks
  10. Very well taken pictures you have there. Especially the one with the multiple frames or whatever you call it. I'm just a beginner so can't comment on riding that much but i'd say its looking great! How is the t-bird to ride? I'm thinking of getting one as a first bike.
  11. Well the Vario is gone but the toxsin is still left. As a beginner would i benefit best from the toxsin or a mod considering i currently ride a stock mountain bike, which would probably be something like a t-vee due to budget unless i found a good second hand one. Thanks
  12. Which is the better bike do you reckon? Thanks for all the input everyone
  13. Toxsin or Vario then? Which is best, sorry about this, i am a totally newbie and know very little about bikes!!
  14. Thanks guys, I was just wondering about re-sale in-case i didn't like the bike. Or would this Toxsin be better? cheers
  15. Hi, Can someone tell me if this bike has a good spec or not? And what its re-sale value would be roughly? The bike Thanks
  16. Thanks for the help everyone! That's answered most of my questions. I reckon i will go for a mod as they are cheaper and most people seem to think you learn on them quicker, so i'll give it a shot.
  17. Hi there and welcome I just wanted to ask how well you improved your riding on the t-vee as i am thinking of getting on for my first trials bike as well unless i can get a good deal on a better second hand bike. Is it good to learn with? Thanks
  18. Thanks for that! What would you guys recommend for a beginner on a small budget for a mod bike and a stock bike? Just so i can compare them. Also how reliable are second hand bikes? As i may consider buying one as the bikes seem good at reasonable prices. Cheers How quickly did you improve on the t-vee? Do they ride well and have sharp brakes?
  19. Thanks for the help everyone. I doubt i will be able to try out the bikes before i buy which is annoying so i am going to have to guess which will be best. I suppose i could always sell it on if i didn't like it. Money is the main problem as bikes don't come easily on a tight budget. What are the main pros and cons with mods and stocks?
  20. Thanks for the help. Does anyone know how easy it is riding a mod if you are used to a stock? It'd just that mods suit my budget much better so i am starting to favour them. Unless i can get a good deal on a second hand stock.
  21. I am in Scotland, i was in Canada on holiday Would i find riding a mod difficult as i am used to stock bikes or would it just be a case of getting used to it? How easy is it to interchange your riding between both styles of bike? thanks
  22. Hi everyone, I am new here and more importantly new to trials. At easter i saw Ryan Leech doing a show in Whistler and i think that got me wanting to do trials. I have tried searching for info but i cant seem to find the info specific to me so any help would be great. The main thing i need to get sorted is a bike but my problem is i have a low budget of about £250-£300 which makes my choices very difficult. I will be riding mainly street if you need to know that. I have looked at the t-vee which is in my budget as a mod but if i want a stock i think i'll need to go second hand. What would you recommend? And my other choice is mod or stock, i searched on this and it seems its preference and you show try both types before buying. I don't think i am able to try out a mod as i don't know anyone with one which is a bit of a bummer. So anyway what would be the recommendation between mod or stock for a newbie to trials to learn on quicker? I currently ride a stock xc bike. Thanks for any help
