I have an Onza T-bird which can be bought pretty cheap second hand. It's a great starter bike and i feel i'm progressing pretty quick on it. T-bird or T-pro (better) just depends on your budget.

Look in pad review thread in trials chat, there are a couple of reviews there

Tilted slightly backwards
-
What is the name of the song? And it did go well with the riding
-
Ryan Leech, as it was seeing one of his demo's in Whistler that got me into trials, his riding is amazing! And Benito Ros, its just mind blowing to watch.

How Long Have You Been Riding, when Did You Start
trials_noob replied to minicrack's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
What forks are they on your bike? Stock t-bird ones don't have disk mounts do they? -
I know what you mean with using weight. Thanks for all the help anyway

I aint arguing, just making my point and that's my opinion. Click Just to prove my point. And it is your choice at the end of the day, and if you don't think you will fall off that's fine.

In-case i am rushing my learning, how comfortable on the backwheel should you be before leanring pedal kicks? And when getting up to back wheel from ground, do you guys hold the rear brake, just until front wheel comes up then kick? That's what i do and it seems to work!
-
Make sure you get comfortable hopping in the one place on the backwheel before leanring pedal kicks.

Great bit of advice, i reckon a lot of newbies will get annoyed not being able to do something and give up. I get annoyed when i can't do something but keep at it and it eventually comes. It took me a week of a lot of riding to hop on the backwheel, and i got so annoyed doing that when it didn't work! Stick at it, back hops are worth it aswell.

Stupid, you can easily whack your head falling over from a trackstand and hitting a curb, anything simple can still give you a pretty nasty bang if you fall.
-
Thanks for the replies. It could be muscles that are sore but i have a feeling its the grips cause they aint that comfy or grippy at the best of times, definitely changing them!

Nice vid, good rising and some awesome spots there, especially lal the concrete one Just get a helmet though, the time you fell flat on your arse could easily of been your head, think about it

First of all, I put some Zoo pads on my rear magura on a smooth clean rim and they really don't have the bite and hold i was told they have. There is still a lot of black dust coming from the pads as if they haven't worn enough yet and still bedding in? Is there anything i can do to fix it or will it just take time? I have put water on them and dragged them quite a few times. And the next question is about pedal kicking up to the rear wheel. I was just wondering if you guys hold the back brake lean back, then let it off and kick then brake again once your up? I tried without holding back brake intially and can't do it. It doesn't say on trashzen so was just unsure. And also is there anything i'm doing wrong to get sore hands when hopping on the backwheel? If i'm getting sore hands, not blisters, just like muscularly sore if you get me, when i'm riding should i try and get fatter grips or thinner ones? I'm going to go for foam ones, from halfords, which i found when searching. Thanks

MOve onto rocking and correctional hops, should all be on trashzen. Watch videos of how people do moves and if you can get something like "mastering the art of trials" with ryan leech its awesome!
-
Nice riding it there And the song goes well with it How long you been riding?
-
I was just wondering if i would there be any benefit using these bars instead of my standard onza t-bird ones?
-
Follow the instructions to upload your video. Or you could use photobucket, its very easy to use and takes videos upto 100mb.

I started a couple of months ago on an xc bike doing trackstnads! But i've been riding for a week now on a trials bike and the difference is imense. And i'm 15, nearly 16 so i haven't started that young. I only really found out about trials at easter so that's my excuse for not starting earlier.

There's a bike pics thread stickied at the top of the forum, look/post there!

Pads: Heatsink - Blues Time used: About 2 hours Rim used: Onza Reggie Grind: Yes - well an extremely light effort with a file! Ceraminc: No Brake used: Magura HS-33 (front) What is your opinion of a working brake: Holds with out fail, No slipping, Locks up quickly. Doesn't wear fast. How do they compare to previous pads you have used: Better than Kool stops be miles! Louder than my Zoos! Review: Set them up on bike and checked everyhting over, good to go. Then poured some water on them and draged them for a bit so get the coating off. The bite and hold was awesome. I had been told these would be miles better than the kool stops but i couldn't believe how good they are. The noise is almost deafening from these aswell! Definitely recommened them! And the service from Steve was excellent as expected. Pads: Zoo! pads Time used: About 2 hours Rim used: Onza Ronnie Grind: No - smooth rim Ceraminc: No Brake used: Magura HS-33 (rear), with echo booster What is your opinion of a working brake: Holds with out fail, No slipping, Locks up quickly. Doesn't wear fast. How do they compare to previous pads you have used: Better than Kool stops be miles! Review: Similar to reviw above as setup at same time. Lock is immense no slipping at all. Even though i am still learning, i find having strong brakes like these is a massive confidence booster and helps you ride better. They don't slip unlike the kool stops. Very high pitched squeak from them, that assuring noise that the brakes are locked

This could be a stupid question but when upgrading from a t-bird to a zona frame, are all the parts transferable? I presume they are but not 100% sure
