  1. I always knew trials existed, I use to ride mtb street, after watching phill feeney ride and Peter L, I decided to add a trials element to my riding. End of.
  2. Damn those ashton seats are UGLY, I guess they're practical on bails but they're so ugly. I like seat, I ride 24" so it's not to suprising I ride with a seat. But even if I had a stock I'd ride a seat, not sure for a mod, not that I'd ever want one...
  3. What was wrong with running longer cables !? Alot of bmx riders are ditching their gyros to... When's the last time you did 3 barspins in a row in the same run ? Nice idea, some other companies have done it before though, and I seriously don't see it's practical use, exept if your'e spinning your bars ALLL the time wich won't be the case of trials riders any time soon and isn't for MTB riders to... Just reinforce your cable where it would pinch when spinning and your'e well on your way . I personally did it and it worked awsome, though I was riding mtb street, maybe more fluid in the system gives a suckier fealing to the brake...
  4. For those who wanted to know what happends, I even downloaded it, but I couldn't find anything to open it exept opening it for real... Oh well.
  5. Why I will probably never buy Vista... A) I dual boot Ubuntu and XP You actually have to pay for Vista C) The OS has way to much a hold of the computer. The more the OS controls stuff on it's own, the more a virus can take over the computer. D) The ridiculous min requirements, if simply the OS needs 512mb ram, what the hell happens when you actually start to do something with the computer! Just comparing how slow my computer is under XP compared to ubuntu gives me the jyblies, I can't imagine it running even more useless stuff... E) Comes to think of it, what are the actual advantages of vista !?
  6. Don't they take mineral oil ? I'm pretty sure dot4 will make the seals go poo-poo...

    X Moto

And is super easy to install on Ubuntu !
  8. If you want to have any use to it and want to spin more than a 180, I'd suggest the front wheel first technique. I'll make it step by step to try to make it clear, but this isn't the kind of move you can just look at or read about and have it first time, especially since it's so basic. -Learn how-to make a real bunnyhop or j-hop, raise front wheel, once you get past your rear wheel blance point [where you'd do a manual], start pushing the bars forward and raising the rear end. Watch Ryan Leech for this, you'll need to master it to spin. For the actual spin : -Pedal to a nice slow streety speed - Start turning the bike with both wheel on the ground in the direction your'e going to spin, generally NOT your chocolate foot, but it might be different for you... -Once you turned like 5 degrees and you have some impulse, start pulling up the front end by bending your knees and pulling with your arms, while continuing the spinning motion : turn your head and elbows and really commit to it. -When you'll be at about 45 degrees from where you started, lift you rear end, extend your arms and put your ass behind your rear wheel. -Land it 8-) That's about it, you'll first have to learn the 180, so don't be a pussy and learn how to do an appropirate roll-back. Then once you master the 180, move on the 360, or maybe by then you will find that you can mix spins with trials and moved on to the 270, wich is quite usefull, well not really usefull, but looks dope compared to a 90...

    Snow!

Ehm yeah, has been for 3 months now [usually 4, but El NiƱo this year] and will be for the next 2 months. Stupid freakin' snow.
  10. Odyssey JimC, best pedals ever. Awsome grip, doesn't eat your shins, lighter than v8 [magnesium version is even ligher], same price as the v8s at most shops.

    Your Life!

I felt that way to after watching it. I'll think about other stuff that made me feel that way and modify my post later.
  12. I guess it wouldn't work so well when it gets wet outside.
  13. I personally ride Odessey Jim Cs they're awsome, some of the cheapest well designed pedals, the platform is concave with replaceble pins, they come with like 50 extra pins of different lenghts, not like other pedals, "replaceble" pins but you can't find any. I really like them because the platform is bigger than on most pedals, also the pins aren't huge so they don't eat your shins up. Basicly, same price as v8s, half the weight, bigger platform. I never tried the v8, I couldn't say if they are more grippy.
  14. I think you want something like this, this here, basicly connects in your wifi network, finds the files on your computer and plays them... Oh yeah, that price is in canadian bucks, foud this uk link.
  15. Not even my own language, as much a frenchy as I am, but kerb is horrible ! Brewing up my ideas as of now !
  16. Same here, I won't be seeing raw concrete for a while and my bike is not in order to ride as of now, thought I could het it "running" in a few hours and post a vid that would mostly consist of bails because of sliding on the snow
  17. I personally ride your kind of stuff, but my bike is getting trialsier by the minute... First off, the pike is a bad idea, most forks, when locked aren't made to be ridden hard, and I think that's the case for the pike, and it's costs a pretty dime [insert some name of coin in england if the dime doesn't exist], secondly it's pretty damn heavy at 5.4 pounds, for trials. And if your'e the kind of guy that wants to do stair gaps with 140mm of travel, the STP won't last really long. Soooooo as it sounds, you want to ride street with a bit of trials into it. First off, the STP isn't the best for that since the top tube is so small... Anyhow, if you have the STP zero, I would change the fork. Other than that there's not much that can be done without investing a fortune...
  18. Depends what you like... if you're into the sidehopping stuff, then I guess a mod would be great. You can ride like beast on a mod, but don't expect to have much style, shoving your bike around is nice, but I have much more respect for stock riders since you can't just put your bike where you want. Mods look like alot of fun to ride but I don't find the riding is verry nice, stock riding is much more elegant, more flow. Damn I sound like a gay correograph sometimes...

    Headsets?

Haha actually, it's because at my local shop, the owners let me wrench about on my bike with their tool, I tend to forget that most shops don't do that. Another way is with a vice, a really big one mind you; sometimes the cups don't go in quite straight when using a mallet.

    Headsets?

Fitting as in putting them in ? I personally use a really long bolt, a hube washer and a nut and use it like you would with a real headset press...

    Headsets?

Since you don't really seem to know what you are doing, I will advise you that there is a tool called a headset cup remover made especially for that purpose, the screwdriver/chisel and hammer method works great, I personally use it when I'm not in a shop, but you could damage your headtube or your headset...
  22. Planet-X Ghost, running 24"s on it... May not be verry common for trialsy riding .
