  1. If you're talking about BMX style freewheels for track type hubs, the smallest you can get is 13t and is a 'special' one from odyssey bikes and apparently they don't last very long...
  2. Ehm, only certain stuff will be cheaper as most trials parts actually come from Europe anyhow. For example a Hope Pro II hub is 300$ CAN wich is actually much more than what you pay for, in quids, but say a ENO trials freewheel is about 100$ CAN - maybe that is worth it, after customs and everything... 100$ CAN is 46 £, and the freewheel sells for 70 on tarty, I'm pretty sure that, that would end up being less costly, but I'm pretty sure that's one of the few items that would cost less. As it being a specialty item, even here in Northern American, it probably needs to go through a few distributors before it gets to the UK...
  3. Take a flat head screw driver with a verry large head, or any kind of piece of anything (plastic, metal, w/e) that has a wedge shape, then put it between the pads, squeeze the lever hard onto it then when you'll release the lever, the pads will be further appart. Then you'll be able tu put your wedge further into the caliper and ultimitaly having your pads far enough from one another to be able to fit a disk in. Don't make the pistons go in too much, you're going to have the problem of having pads too far from the disk... Just make sure your wedge is clean and take your time and don't force things... Good luck
  4. I'm not you, either do I know your gf, but I personally wouldn't have sent that email, and probably no email at all and just called her. The email sounds like if you're not taking it seriously, the way you are kinda saying it in an almost arrogant way, detached from the situation. Saying it in a descriptive matter would have been better... Also this : "So yeah, a reply would be nice please. If you don’t want to talk to me or whatever then don’t but I didn’t want it to end like this or end at all over something what isn’t even true. I thought we had trust jord hunni I really did." doesn't really cut it, once again you sound like if she doesn't mean much to you, you're considering that she could end this because your twat friend told some bullshit about you. Anyhow, I find the email not too well composed, but then again, you're speaking in the way you feel... you seem to be like WTF and just trying to make the most out of what you can, but if she really thinks it's true, for her it could seem more like, well I maybe he doesn't give shit about me after all. I would personally have taken a stance that shows that you kinda know what's happening and are on top of things, and try to get on her side of things rather than confront her. But I'm really criticizing way too much , please note that French is my first language so there are some sentence phrasing that seem harsh to me that probably aren't. I'm really sorry, not what you want to hear right now, except if you do something really stupid, which would surprise me, things will go your way, you didn't say shit about her, damn it !
  5. Ehm... no one really noticed it's in the USA? I'm damn glad I'm not a citizen of the United States (is there a word other than american to design someone living in the USA, I mean, I'm an american, I'm on the continent of america but sure as f**k don't live in the USA...). The legal drinking age is at 21, for example...

    Song?

If it was used for bike vids ? It was in like every single one last year
  7. Half & Half is : half milk half cream, so it's 18% fat cream, compared to the 35% of regular cream. You could probably just replace it with coffee cream (10-12% percent) and put more and less milf... If you brits don't have 18% cream, or mix cream and milk. Eeeeeeeeew "1 slice American cheese", sorry, I really have a problem with pretty much all cheeses made in the United States of Asia...
  8. Well it's because maguras are made to work with mineral oil where as hopes are made to work with dot oil. Seals made for mineral oil work with water and theseals made for dot oil just disentegrate, I'm pretty sure...
  9. Well firefox is open-source. It isn't integrated in windows so it can do much less damage to your compy then explorer can. You have much more control over your preferences. And most of all you can install add-ons, some of the most popular being fasterfox wich basicly sends more page requests to the server so you can load pages faster, another one is called ABP wich doesn't load the adds on ALL web pages, it comes loaded with a database of adds and doesn't allow their loading, it also allows you to add your personal adds for adds from site you visit regularly but that it doesn't have in it's database. I don't find fasterfox makes a huge difference exept sometimes pages need reloading as the page doesn't come up entirely. But ABP makes a really nice difference EDIT forgot to mention there are tons of other add-ons, wich makes the strenght of firefox.
  10. Songbird LINK though if iTunes annoys you, songbird will probably to, though it allows you to drag-drop within the program
  11. Well I can honestly say that straight up trials is boring to watch, even if you can appreciate it. I once watched a trials demo by really good rider, before I got into trials, but after 15 mins, I was really bored. I defenetly have to agree with the boon. Trials in it's pure form, to me, is comparable to a 500m foot race or a long jump event. It's pretty cool to watch for a bit, but it gets repetitive really fast and I don't really have a big apreciation for the talent and hours of practice needed to get to the level of those atheletes. I see trials a bit like the guy who tried to learn some Paganini caprice but eventually gave up and suicided (I'm pretty sure I'm not making this up, Paganini was basicly an incredible violonist), most of us are working on the same things: higher, faster, longer. But what the hell does that change?
  12. Isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) highest concentration you can find. Soaps will leave a residue even if you rinse them loads, and well residues mean you brake less I never tried boiling but I don't see why it wouldn't work well...
  13. The parts get closer together and work for a bit, if you have just a few files you really really need on a dead HD, you can put it in the freezer, plug it back in and hopefully have enough time before it defreezes to transfer your files.
  14. Ehm incredibly easy ? You sure you don't want to run... say 22/18 instead ?
  15. Yeah, it could, you should get a lock ring if there's enough thread left basically as you would put on with a track cog. The tensile is threaded backwards (because freewheels really are made to be used at the back...) so it can be used up front without un screwing. But then again, if it's tight enough, it shouldn't come off as other freewheels don't fall up front...
  16. He's been living on the planet of the apes, what do you want... Wow that's one sick bar! Normally they bend a bit and then... you just change them, first time I see a bar snap in half :|
  17. Ehm, tried running you tensioner upside down, your chain would wrap around your cog much more ? I haven't seen a 74king tensioner so I couldn't tell you if it could work... But 13t is a really small cog it could explain part of your problem. But having more tension should solve your problem until your chain streches a bit, the surly cog is very deep so your new chain probably isn't able to fit in properly. But it sucks, cause you can't just ride it smoothly until it streches a tad as you can't seem to ride at all...
  18. Wouldn't having the lever blade further from the handlebar in the first place help you or just having to squeeze it less to have the brake lock work ? I used to have that problem, but I just screwed the barrel adjuster on the lever a few twists outwards and voilà, problem solved. I also think the XTR levers have a reach adjustment, so you can probably get the lever blade further from the handlebar without having the brake arms closer to each other. Or you could give some higher-end avid lever with the leverage adjustment but I find their lever blade is not friendly with the braking finger (I get a massive gash in two days of riding) but I seem to be one of the few with that problem, nor did I find the leverage adjustment thingy very useful as I always had it at the max.
  19. I currently ride a PX ghost (yeaaah, PX as in planet X) weird angle... with 24" wheels but the ghost actually is a 26" frame with really tight chain stays so things aren't super. I also own an Endless Lifetime here which is a dedicated 24" but it doesn't have any bb rise and the top tube is 23" long so it's a bit of a bitch for trials so I prefer the ghost. But I'm planning on eventually getting a real street trials frame soon, possibly a reset. Now ------------------------> back on topic !
  20. I wasn't asking if I should run it, because I all ready ordered a wheel from my LBS with that set-up yesterday, a surly disk track hub and I haven't chose the freewheel yet. I'm asking because I think it just is a better set-up, I'll get back to you guys when I'll get it, friday. As for my ratio, I plan on putting 28t sprocket with a 16t freewheel which will give me a nice 1.75 ratio, yes I'm rather abnormal, but I'm not really into sidehops and UCI type stuff. Only time I need a small ratio is to do pedal kicks, okay that's like all the time. For fakie riding and just general hopping up stuff without hooking and spinning, it's much better, I find. But ehm, let's keep on subject and not talk about how a wacko I am .
  21. I have this small question of personal interest. As I don't live in a trials active community, I was wondering if having a thread-on freewheel (ENO for example) bolted to a track style hub on the back wheel (obviously...) on a single speeded stock is popular ? It seems like a much better set-up to me, and also costs a less, about 50 pounds if comparing a DMR revolver hub with a ENO trials freewheel to a Hope Trials Pro II with spacers and a sproket (I basically checked on tarty for what they had) . So, is there a particular reason why there isn't a lot of chatter about it on the forum, or why it isn't used a lot ?
  22. Ehm... a fork ? EDIT damn it looks bad when shrinked... make sure it's totally un shrunk, if you care...
  23. Carefull not to cut the rotor, works well.
