  1. Ehm how about, Ti being harder than Al, so they don't strip...
  2. Here's how I see, it: changing brakes is much easier and cheaper then changing frame-cranks-freewheel... So, if you get new comers to the sport and if they actually like it, they can put maggies later on. Or if already-good riders buy it, they can just get hs33's straight up and sell the V-s or keep them as back up...
  3. Wheelsmith 14g spokes. Had mine for a while, never had it dished, get them built properly and they should last a while...

    French Women?

Ehm you actually said "Does this smell of rag like the chloroform to you ?" You should say "Je suis vraiment un sale connard qui a aucunne idée de ce qu'il dit, mais j'aime particulièrement votre décolté." or "Selon vous, est-ce que ce chiffon sent le chloroforme ?"

    French Women?

Having heard one of your french project on your tvi.gsl or what ever it is, I don't think you'd be able to keep up with french french, if you were used to canadian french... but then again, you should be able to get the general idea of the sentences. anyhow, I would just say that french women are hot, yes yes Québec used to be a french colony... Haha, have fun, mate !

    24"

--> QUOTE(joe b @ Nov 21 2006, 05:33 PM) ←Not really; only about 2"... Sorry, i felt i had to do it . 24" bikes are concentrated on the 'street/bmx' side of trials, and 26" bikes can be adjusted in a number of different ways (ie. bar/stem setup) to make the bike fit into lots of different catagories of trials. What do i know anyway? I ride mod! Cheers, Joe. 1", depending on how you see it... But yeah, if you want to ride real trials stuff, I don't see how a 24" could really help you, especially since there aren't alot of trials specific parts... I'm not saying it would be impossible but I don't really see how it would be better than a stock or a mod...
  7. Ehm more leverage perhaps ? if you tried it all you can try all kind of greasses and lubes : WD 40, regular grease, elbow grease, penetrating oil...
  8. May I suggest having some rythm in the your "humping" I find my manuals are much smoother when I'm at a regular beat, else your'e just push-pulling your bars and normally you can't go far and your bars probably won't be set up right if you want to hop something at the end of your manual.
  9. My b-day happens to be the 23rd . - Woot! I think I'd like an avid juicy for the back and a new rear wheel, not quite sure what hub will be laced to a beatifull sun MTX with freshly cut 14g wheelsmith spokes...
  10. I'm pretty sure they can see things in theire dreams, if they have a pretty damn good idea of the physical I'm pretty sure they could see it in a dream, I'm pretty sure they have an idea of what things can look like (like the drawing shown) so I don't see why they couldn't see things in theire minds...
  11. Damn... there's a canadian company who makes virtually inderstructable hangers out of stainless steel, I sadly don't remember their name [yes I tried google]... Other way would obviously to ride without the hanger, horizontal drop-outs, sadly not very popular on trials frames or a half linked chain...
  12. Smooth stuff, especially for the music and editing. Originality Not doing the same thing over and over again Not doing 10 minutes vid of one rider, exept if you kick some major ass and don't the same thing over and over Actually waiting to have really good clips to put in the vid Not to much bails, exept if it's funny/major. That sums it up...
  13. Washing up fluid should actually be Isopropyl alcool... considering the "author" took the time to mention hayes for the torx, you might want to note that Hayes advises the use of rubbing alcool and not the one of disk cleaners, I personnaly think it makes sence because isopropyl alcool contains alcool and water, both evaporate, where as other cleaners might leave a bit of a residue, also rubbing alcool is more widely available .
  14. Why are you asking opinions if you've got your awnser. All I got to say is go for it ! I'd personally go with a shadow consiracy seat or alike and for the seat post idealy get a thomson elite but then again, any thing work, though those with a clamping system similar to the thomson work really well to get a perfect seat angle. EDITED.
  15. Oh, it'll come, people from all kind of backgrounds are coming into street trials, only a matter of time until we get some real style coming on. But as for barspining and trials, I'm not sure lots of people will be able to barspin while gapping , just doing a decent barspinned fufmanu on a slope is pretty demanding, oh well I should at least try it on a ledge...
  16. I agree with the boon, if you want to have your seat at a pinchable position, it'll be in the way for trials, exept maybe if you learnt trials on a seated bike, but then again, you'll be 50/50 between doing barspins and doing trials. To top that, not many trials riders cut their bars at a spinable lenght, so if you really want to do barspins, you probably wouldn't be able do them in a run because you'd loose some much flow by moving your legs to let the bars pass... But yeah, try out a seat maybe you'll be able to make it work, or just try it without pinching, perhaps you just have it in you, worth trying ! It's not clear in your last post if you just want to add another level to your trials or if you're into streety riding, because I personally don't see how you could put a barspin into non "pure street trials", as phil_onza mentionned, in an actual run other then just [doing a barspin]. Anyways, good luck !
  17. If your friend is running a disk hub, there is a cog available by some company (I could probably dig it up if he's enterested) that bolts onto the disk side of the hub, only problem is you can't coast the cranks, they will keep spinning until you stop. So your friend could flip his wheel to ride the 3km then flip it for trials...

    Tai Chi

^^ You can definitively get your mind to think what you want it to, with a bit of concentration. But the thing is, you can still get burned, so it's not really mind of matter... Anyways, tai-chi looks like a good way to get some flexebility and concentration for trials.
  19. I wouldn't even approach anything close to my rotors except water and rubbing alcohol (90% preferably). Everything else leaves a residue and make your brakes feel like shit, well for at least little while. So if you use rubbing alcohol, it gets the dirty stuff out, wipe it out with something like a coffee filter if you have some, or just a paper towel. The alcohol will evaporate quickly and your brakes should be awesome, right after cleaning, no need to set them in...
  20. Use ... Ok actually it would look like this, somewhat, personally don't like the green on there
  21. Actually it ends up being the same... I tried booting in safe mode, but it still asks you for a password, though you have access to the administrator account, that could possibly be not password protected as someone mentionned above...
  22. I might have the solution I haven't tried it yet because I kinda learned iTunes, but I must admit it's REALLY anoying. anapod From what I read, it basicly integrates your iPod as a mem stick into windows, just drag and drop, and actually have control of what's going on. Just noticed you have to pay, but the trial seams to do the drag and drop thing...

    New Monty!

Ehm I smell copying, from the Banshee Scratch... Anyways, looks very ugly and un practical, suntour forks (eeew). The front end doesn't seem right, and I'm not talking about the fork here... Maybe it the image is compressed and it makes it look weird thought, but it doesn't seem to be very rideable, but I think the bike has a bit of an angle on the picture wish makes it look awkward

    Best Way To...

Yeah, you're most defenetively right, I was screwing things up with aluminium... But for new brakes/pads just ride down a really steep hill stopping a bit all the way down and you should be alright, stop whining, it should come together !
