  1. If you've got the bits do it as it only costs time.
  2. So thats how you ride trials
  3. I was tempted by one of those but didn't think they were that easy to come by over here. Looks nice.
  4. Looking forward to it. I'll hopefully ride a bit better than I did at Fort William. Really enjoyed it though and was impressed with the amount of spectators.
  5. I would have also thought that the Avids and newer Hope discs have more side to side adjustment than the older style calipers that required the spacers. May not be enough to allow for the 110/116 frames as I haven't tried it - just a thought.
  6. Just solved the problem yourself. Sell the hub specific to the frame type and give the option for after market end caps if the person changes the frame/sells on the hub. Similar to the hope bulb where you can change between QR or bolt through.
  7. One comment, why not make the flanges equal sized as it makes building the wheels a bit less fiddly - not just spoke lengths but feeding them through as well. Looks nice though. I like the bolt on hollow axle - I wish companies would start using 12mm bolt on (as DH bikes) for stocks. It just makes sense for stiffness. A baby Pro II would be nice though - then you could do the flanges the same size as per the normal Pro II. Jamie
  8. Thats gutting. Good to hear you should be on the mend though. I might even make it to Porthcawl when you're fixed - haven't been in ages. Jamie
  9. Hope BULBs can be changed between QR20 and quick release (see 1st reply - I can't do any better) but unfortunately that is not much help with King hubs. I've had a quick look at their website and by the look of it they are not compatible as the QR20 info says 'We had to design an entirely new bearing for this guy. It is about the same size as a one inch headset bearing. Bigger than anything else out there. ' I may be wrong, you can always try e-mailing them. Leeson may be worth a go for QR20 forks, not sure though.
  10. Good vid Matt - I'll have to track down the 1st one now. Good to see us on film. I'll get something sorted with him. Probably after I'm married as may be a little busy till then.
  11. Zoo seem to be strong and stiff. The Hi-fi forks are also stiff but I snapped a set and I know Partz has snapped a set of the mod ones as well.

Definately the best bet and their service is pretty good.
  13. Nice pics and fair play on cleaning the trial (again). I'll try and get a few pics up as well - at some point. Good effort to Tim for winning expert and I still can't believe Dave managed to ride, let alone come 4th. Am still knackered - next time I'm taking Monday off to sleep.
  14. Wonderful, I'll be there with Tim and a broken Dave, I just hope we can find somewhere to sleep. Jamie
  15. Sounds about right. I won't be there, I'm off to Devon. Got new forks then Matt??
  16. Very stylist way of breaking and entering when there is an 8 foot wall in the way!
  17. http://www.photoboxgallery.com/myeventphotography/8121420 check it out and pic no. 14 as well. As for the lay out and severity of the sections - I for one found them at the right level (finished red on 51 I think) as I think blue would have been too easy but red was challenging but not too dangerous but not with out its risks. Especially when the wind turned up at about 3. (Having had numerous crashes at Hook Woods) I know for Tim, Matt and Dave (1,2,3) they probably would have liked to see some more challenging sections with less room for manouverability but it probably would have meant that I couldn't have ridden half the stuff I did and definatly wouldn't have had as much fun. On the Blackpool rocks I don't think there was much room to make the sections that much harder without making them far more ballsy - personally, I prefer the more technical side of riding than big moves. Also, the riders who cleaned the trial probably felt under far more pressure and probably got far more satisfaction at the end as well. Jamie
  18. I'm just glad (surprised) that none of them were mine! Had an awesome weekend and thanks to all who organised. Observing on the Saturday was actually good fun (I just hope I got the rules right and didn't annoy anyone) even with a hangover. I was also rather surprised that I managed to get through more than one section and even cleaned a few - just need to get fitter now. Bit disappointed that Tim and Ben didn't get to have a ride off (although a dance off would have been far funnier). Photos and potentially videos to follow (depending on whether Dave can get them off his phone). Jamie
  19. Best way to do it and I guess Tarty/the others don't want to spend all day trying all the different combinations and then doing a table to go on the web. Also you should be able to make a rought guess as to how different forks are going to affect the Geo as Tarty also provide the rake and length. My '04 Control (long) has gone from 1085 with a +20bb with Urban forks to a 1080 with a +30bb (measurements are about right) but I was able to work out what was going to happen (roughly - shorter and higher bb) before I bought the forks thanks to the info off Tarty's site. 5mm can make enough difference as long as its the difference you want. Although if they were really bored it would be possible to produce a table of how control forks would alter a bike compared to urbans (e.g. -5mm wheelbase, +10mm BB) but it would be a bit of a ball ache plus it would also depend on head angle.
  20. Quality pics - I should have put some effort if and got up there. I do like how most people are wearing shorts and tees and Vince is still in trousers and a hoody - obviously not braeking a sweat.
  21. It does make sense as it keeps the caliper far more protected (see Tim Steadman's pashley forks before he broke them).
  22. Good to hear I'm no longer the oldest rider in south wales (26). You'll have to come join us in Swansea for a ride. Jamie
  23. Nice pics, I'm just gutted no one got my 'bails' on film
  24. If you want indestructable pins try either of these pedals. I had one pin pull out of the Club Roost ones and thats it. The only problem is trying to get replacement pins (not because they fall out but because they wear down after about a year to a year and a half). Well worth the money and the bearings on both are good - I haven't had any problems. http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=2234 http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=19409
  25. I'm also a qualified first aider although I think I was in the same boat as Wayne with the crash situation so didn't like to let on.
