  1. It was a thought when choosing wether or not to stay on at school or go to college etc, last year.
  2. Who Run It - Three Six Mafia. Brappsss.
  3. Well if we must continue... My mums friends husband works in the local college, he's head of department for motor mechanics, so i can get a place there quite easily. Was given an unconditional place there last year but i chose to go to 6th form at my school. Sometimes it's all about connections.
  4. Oh lol. I don't just ride to work you know , school (not any more though, the hooded youths found out my bikes a 1.2kish build), mates houses etc etc. I shall say no more on this, and if you want Mark, or any other man of power, you may close this. I know what i'm doing isn't a great idea but the jobs in front of me. To sum it up, i see it as a gap year or two just as a break and hopefully, by the time i feel like leaving, i would have manned up from working 40 hours a week and will have my head screwed on enough to ACTUALLY do the work i'm set at college. Travis, final point before everyone stfus. I don't respond to most peoples stuff because they don't know about what's going on enough for me to think they're right. They don't know every aspect, reason etc for me doing this, and that's cos i haven't told them probably. But meh.
  5. No? Just like, it seems more tiring to do 12 miles 'cos i'm obviously using up energy during work. It's a bit like 'corr i've just worked for 6 hours, now i've gotta ride home' *sigh* kinda thing.

  7. Monkey Boy? And Nick, lol, you do make me giggle.
  8. No, i said it was an absolute minimum. It;s to work and back and usually takes me around 12-16 mins each way. It shows that i actually use it. Gotta factor in that i ride in, work for 3 or 6 hours and ride back, just makes it seem erm, longer, cos i'm doing quite a bit of physical work/rushing around inbetween then. Some weeks i've done a good 60 miles.
  9. 300 quid. 12 miles a week is just to work and back. And how much are you spending on petrol a week? Anyway, i'm considering getting a 50 of some sort to get me to work etc... I reckon i can afford it easily. See how it goes though. And Simps, i don't go out out an awful lot, i just spend all of my money on shit that i want. Cos hey, i'm 16, i'm earning, i don't have to feed any kids, why not spend it on luxuries? Didn't say i could walk into an apprentiship, obviously i'm gonna have to work for it a bit, but meh. As i said, my mates dad is a do it all man, he has connections etc. And i don't mind 500 quid a month fees. How long roughly is an electrician/similar apprentiship then?
  10. I'd love to work weekends and get 200 quid a week, f**king hell. What you think i'll be doing that'll earn me 100 quid a day? Contract phone, just no. It's 35 quid a month for 500 mins and unlimited texts, i CAN afford that, so that was just pointless, cos i know i'd get through more than 10 quid a month, and it'd end up being even more than 35 quid, AND i'd have to pay for a phone upfront too. What stupid bikes have i bought that i haven't ridden? I have 2 bikes currently. I make use of my trials bike at least once a week, most weeks i ride saturdays all day. Road bike, i do like 12 miles a week AT LEAST, sometimes 24, and just the other day when i planned on going to Brighton on it, i racked up about 15-20 miles. Camera stuff is a hobby, you can't say anything about that.
  11. Yeah i expect i will complain. I can see it now; 'Ah, Evans is now boring, looks like it's off to college to sort my life out'.
  12. Principal of 'i spend EVERY penny of my money' is a fair one, but that's because i only got 215 basic at Halfords, a month. I give my mum 35 quid a month cos my contract phone is in her name, and about 40-50 odd quid extra for money i've borrowed during the month, leaving me with 130 odd quid. I spend that on whatever i feel i want at the time and then leave 50 or so for the rest of the month for going out etc. I don't get enough money to save it, realistically. I'm going to be earning much more a month so theres a lot more space for saving, i'll also be getting EVERYTHING i can on trade which means even less spending, even possibly Vans trainers i can get on trade, which just leaves even more money to be saved. Yeah maybe most days they'll be <800 quid, but when i went for my trial day, a 1.6k race bike was being built, i built a rock hopper and also the same model race bike as the 1.6k one but a lower down version which was 700 odd. So it's not like i won't be working with ANY nice bikes. Several times i have seen people talking about it like it's gonna be a life job and i'm gonna live off it etc, but i'm NOT gonna stay there for more than 2/3 years, it's purely an enjoyment job and i don't care about the fact i'll have to pay for college. I may even just go straight into an apprentiship with a business (of the 'trade' variety) instead of going to college, so i'll get paid a just about mediocre wage and get the skills etc while i earn. Tomturd, that's a good way of looking at it. I'm not f**king up my life, i'm just delaying it's greatness in return for a bit of fun/enjoyment
  13. I know, i didn't say i won't be taxed, i said i wont pay COUNCIL TAX. TIT. Nick, that's pretty rad. I think i'm gonna go to uni. Larry, i can't remember myself, but i don't think i ever asked for peoples opinions? As stated, i said about the job and things lead to another and OBM made a thread for me.
  14. Tom, i'm 16. I don't pay council tax, rent or for food, as guess what, I'm living at home! I spend a maximum of 150 quid on clothes every 2-3 months, and only plan on giving my mum around 200 quid a month, because she'll be losing 300 quid from child benefits (single parent, don't start on pikey stuff etc) I'm also not planning on staying there for more than 2/3 years so i'm not bothered about promotion. = your post loses. FFS! I'm not you! I'm getting seriously pissed off with people saying that they hated it, i'm still more than enjoying Halfords with shitty bikes, and considering i'm going to Evans who sell bikes upwards of 2 grand, i don't think i'll have the problem of cheese bolts. [/end of aggressively typing, just so you can gauge the anger in the above writings] Paragraph 1, Evans only pay minimum wage for part timers as far as i know, so that'd be pointless. And can i not get grants to help when it's not free? Is that not more logical? Paragraph 2, enjoyment. I don't mind wasting 2 years of my life while i'm young and don't have many cares in the world, i'll havg at least 400 quid a month spare, sometimes up to 600 so i'm gonna be having fun. Then when i've had my fun, i'll go get a 'serious/normal' job. Cba to go to college now, i'm pissed off with school and need a nice long break I've been doing 9 hours a week at Halfords, Wednesdays 5 till 8, Sundays 10 till 4.
  15. Dunno if it's been mentioned, but use your stem as a slide hammer, works wonders.
  16. Danny, what's wrong with you? You're being a non cock recently! Haha. Yeah, good points man, you're kinda doing what i'm gonna do, but i'm gonna be in the Evans job for 2 or so years, then go to college, get into a trade, because, that also interests me. Right. Main points as to why i'm right/at least not wrong. Money i'm making now is thousands more than what i'll be paying for college fees when i go to college and have to pay = Glen is up on money. 2nd, i'm not staying there for more than 2/3 years hopefully. I've worked with SHIT bikes for 8 months so far and still love to ride my bike, fix it etc, so no, working on bikes does not make me hate them... Mate who is very similar to me (working with him, he got me the trial day n stuff)'s dad is a do it all man, he does plumbing to electrician stuff, carpentry etc so i've got a step there if i wanted to go to a company to get an apprentiship, and will also know other stuff which i need to know. Mate is also into bikes like me, he's been working there for a year and 3 or so months now and still has the passion for biking... But thinks in maybe another years time he'll get a plumbing apprentiship n stuff, so it's all good. Now, it's not an epic fail. Maybe just a bit of a pisser for some enjoyment work.
  17. Yeah, i know. Which is why i've drafted in 100-200 quid a month at least, as savings, as I can more than afford to do so. And yes, i can build fairly confidently, and true awesomely.
  18. No, Dave. You don't know shit... Not gonna explain it, because i've already explained it to enough people on MSN. It's not bad, and i'm gonna to college when i get bored and want a 'normal' job. (1/2/3 years maybe) I'm so super awesome at bike mechanics, that Halfords are now virtually begging for me to stay by offering me more money etc (not sure how much more yet) but yeah, i'm awesome. Feels good to be wanted by two massive companies.
  19. I don't share my life, just most of it . I just didn't wanna say the wrong things n stuff, 'cos there's always someone on here that knows better...
  20. Got the job Boshed out like 5 bikes quickly, perfectly... Made the decision today Thing is i've only got 1 month left at school anyway, so i might aswell just get my maths gcse and be done with it.
  21. But it's too late, I'm in year 12 now, on my 2nd chance and now it's gone. I got 1 C in my GCSEs. I'm not exactly gonna be able to do A levels then go to uni so i can get a posh fanny of a job am I? yoyoyo, such as? , i'm a bit stuck, i usually need a start to get the juices flowing.
  22. Too late, i raped myself in the face at my GCSEs, failing my BTEC pieces of shit, didn't do coursework for Maths resit so i'm gonna fail that. On the application form, 'personal statement'... Ideas on how to sell myself please?
  23. I'm not planning on this being a life job anyway, 'cos i probably will end up in a shit desk job that pays the bills anyway. but why not have a nice, fun job when you're young? (I know that kinda sounds like i'm changing my tune, but it's all different variants of it) Yeah, she knows about it. She's gonna lose 300 quid a month child benefits (yes, she does work, and no, we're not pikey scum) so i think i'm gonna have to pay her like 150 or so a month? And it better be out next week.
  24. Ah awesome. It must feel so good to say 'yeahp, that's me'/'yeahp, i filmed that' to people when they see it pop up somewhere on the internet...
