Well i've bitten the bullet today after reading a few posts at work, i'm going to Bikehut simply because apparently, i'm not even getting 12k at Evans and will definitely be on 14 at least at bikehut. I have the opportunity to get to dorking bikehut on wednesday to prove i'm worth more than 14, which might be possible... Evans manager was pretty understanding, even though he's a bit of a cock... Basically said the difference between 11.5 or whatever and 14k a year is a big one considering my age and that he'd go to bikehut himself if he was in my shoes.

Evans is in victoria (2 seconds from the station) and BH will be in St Pauls area. I'd have to bike it to the shop probably, but that's a good thing as i need to get some exercise!

Right, gonna bosh out a quick post as i need to leave for work soon. Basically, started Evans last monday. Went for a standalone new bikehut store interview on thurs, found out on sat that i got the job in BH. Evans pay is 12k a year + 1k bonus which is pretty likely. When i get cytech 2 i go up by 1k on my basic pay... But apparently that could take up to 2 years. BH is 14k basic, not sure on bonuses. They're pretty much the same job, trade price bike stuff etc. Gotta tell the bikehut people today whether or not i want the job. Dunno which one to go for. It's gonna be awkward leaving Evans after a week.

Was talking to a collegue about it the other day and he said it really wouldn't be worth her/her dads time. He obviously knows the rules and would realise it's not worth it. Which spacers do i need?

Yep, fairly sure it's cos the sleeves on the axle haven't been pressuring the bearings into the hub, so they've slipped about a bit. I didn't think cams were that bad? I spose i could just use them as spacers? Or i reckon i'd have difficulty finding the right thickness.

Bit of a bump. Got an Echo Team stem on sunday, feels pretty good. I plan on stripping the rear hub down with caustic soda to raw metal (silver, like the front hub with any luck) and also doing the bars. Then, change to snail cams and it'll be pretty koshers. Only 'out of place' colour will be the raceline yellow but i love it's colour, and it's originality, so i'm not getting rid of that/stripping it.

Try to know someone who could get it on trade, it's a serious godsend. But yeah, a racer with cyclocross tyres maybe?

Apparently, the Rimjam backings only did it because the backings were made of a soft Zinc something, which eventually squished up and allowed more movement for a punch like force on the prongs. CNC alu ones don't do this because they're made of a much more stiff material. EDIT: Knew i had read it on here. Straight from the horses mouth.
