    Helmets

That picture would have been handy in the NMC helmet topic as it clearly shows how important it is to wear a helmet at all times. (Even when in the womb.)

    Helmets

I'd personally never buy a helmet without trying it on first. So my advice would always be to try on other peoples helmets and go to as many different cycle shops as you can and try on the their helmets too, find the one that fits the best and is most comfortable and then either buy it locally or off the net. Everyone has different shaped heads so not all helmets will sit right on all heads.
  3. Damn, they're all way too heavy. Cheers for the link anyhow.
  4. I really like the look of those forks! Anyone know if you can get anything similar but perhaps a bit (lot) lighter..
  5. How did you crash? What were you doing?
  6. I'm going to buy one of these for day to day use. It's not worth the risk. This shit's getting scary, I'm not sure if I want to get up from my desk now.
  7. I wouldn't be so sure! Anyway looking at your picture it looks like you're running a front brake only? If so, do you even ride trials on it? I'd recommend the best 20inch to go for would probably be a bmx! Edit: too slow
  8. Bmx style helmets are fine for trials, a lot of people use them. Infact, the bmx style helmets are arguably safer than the xc/mountain bike style because they cover more of your head, especially at the back.
  9. That's a pretty lofty opinion. Some of your posts really are very sensationalist, I feel like I'm reading a tabloid; "Thousands of cyclists are risking certain death by performing stunts unprotected." Reading through this thread sounds like the trials equivalent of some kind of impending apocalyptic disaster. It's really not as big a deal as you guys make out. Heads bounce, believe.* *I accept no responsibility for accident or loss of life caused by reading my post.
  10. This thread sucks, the majority of new riders will start, learn and progress on shit bikes. Young riders who are still in school and can't afford to buy expensive bikes (and don't have flush parents either) will ride bikes that could be deemed 'the worse trials bike ever'. As far as I'm concerned there can be nothing more disheartening than saving every penny you've got to buy a trials bike only to come into this thread and have people saying it's utter bollocks. When I built up my first trials bike I thought it was the best thing in the world, it was perfect. I look at pictures of it now and it was an abomination. I was proud of it though, and that's the way it should be, I think.
  11. Just watched one of your other videos and you've got balls, no doubt, but watching you ride actually scared the shit out of me!
  12. '07 T-Pro I'm not really clued up on mods but that looks like an ideal starter bike to me, room for negotiation on the price too I would imagine. Personally I think that's pretty much spot on. But don't take my word for it, hopefully someone more knowledgeable on mods can post their thoughts on it.
  13. Youtube Video -> Original Video I can honestly say that I wouldn't leave the house all day.
  14. Reading this thread has given me a burning desire to do some kind of road trip on a motorbike with my trials bike. All I need to do is convince the old man to let me borrow his bike Euro roadtrip anyone?!
  15. This what you use, yeah? The helmet that Rich Pearson and Michael Singleton use are definitely worth a look! http://ridetsg.com/product_info.php?info=p...oad-helmet.html
  16. Added thought: Is it something to do with the person who is second being sat on the other dudes wheel therfore giving him the advantage of slipstream? And being able to slingshot himself Ricky Bobby style? Edit: I hoped I was quick enough to tag this onto the bottom of my previous post, but yeah, I see what you're saying.
  17. In Guernsey they used to do a 'slow' race at one of the harbor carnivals (before I was into bikes).. You'd always get the clown who would just sprint from the start and 'win'. He was always my favorite. What's the craic with them sitting on the start line for so long then?
  18. I hear you! There really are some retarded cycling events, spectators aside.. riding a bike is about having fun, pushing yourself, feeling good and doing what makes you happy. You're not really pushing yourself if you're sat there waiting for your opponent to f**k up. I'd love to see some turn up to a sprint like that and just blast off the line and leave the other guy standing.
