Sam Nichols replied to Kristian's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
I know you said no mavic... But i do have a nice mavic EX721 with a decent grind on a red hope mono. Looks nice, built by tart, straight and true, strong... Top banana :( -
I just suddenly had a thought.... BURBERRY! Go as a chav.. innit :(

haha! you tit! I meant freight from the UK! yeah, thats what they say... but i know for a fact it only costs about £10 for bikes to come from the mainland! (thats how much freight we pay for treks and raleighs and things anyway...)

try a textiles shop or local sewing/crafty type shop...

Hehe spot on Tomm! Basically this is not a hacker. It's more likely somebody doing a bit of social engineering (people hacking) or something similar. Do you really think if somebody had the skills to 'hack' msn they'd be pissing around with YOUR contacts! I don't think so.

Don't get it. Don't get it.

I'd always say pashley :( They are 2 bolt so you'll need some adapters but for the money you can't say fairer than the weight, strength and basically the fact that they look sooo nice! Alternatively leeson forks are very nice I think he can do 4bolt on his forks... Don't quote me on that though :)

Thanks for the replies guys. Mike, unfortunately I work for Bob Duquemins Cycles which just happens to be one of Ian Browns cycles... as far as competition for custom goes the two are, lets say, not very friendly! As I work for Bob I can't buy the bike from Ian because Bob wouldn't be happy :) There is another reason and that is that Ian Brown is known locally for charging VAT prices on bike, he says that this is to cover postage.. but 14.9% from £1000 is £149 and there is absolutely no chance in hell I'm paying £149 for postage! I'm really pissed off because I made plans to sell the Norco and save a bit then buy the Woodstock... and being the nob that I am, I thought "nah, I'll keep the Norco it's a great bike. Why buy something new when theres nowt wrong with this" :( Such a tit.

Yeah I know :"> Cheers anyway

Shut up Tomm! :( They still kick levelboss ass...
-
Cheers for backing me up there!! They are 'loosely' similar... but similar all the same!! Also the fact that the python looks like a pile of poo too reinforces the similarity..."

from what I can see they do finance on anything... The site is (in all fairness) absolutely terrible and very very unprofessional! However, trialsshop.co.uk is the trials section of Mark Anthony and yes, it does do finance. Interest rate is very confusing... I'm not 100% sure what this means, however I don't think I will be able to sort out finance with them since i'm going to need my parents to be guarantors again  They're against finance and credit and loans and things :( Hope that helps clear things up?
-
Cheers for the replies guys. UrbanLegend - I'm not 18 so I can't get a personal loan and my parents aren't happy about being guarantors... so that's out the window  Mark - Just been on the mark anthony site.. which now appears to be trialsshop.co.uk or something but I can't find anything about finance :( again, thanks anyway guys... But anyone else? EDIT: cancel that... the finance bit was staring me right in the face!!

Hey, I'm desperately in need of a new bike since my Norco ended up like this (Click For Topic) I was just about to replace all of the parts through my LBS and pay for them bit by bit HOWEVER now that the norco is shagged I may as well go for a complete bike (woodstock) I can't get it through my LBS because they aren't able to order it from Supercycles which means no pay bit by bit going on there... So, Does anybody know of any shops where I could get a Woodstock and pay monthly/weekly or whatever? This really would be a great help because if I can't get a bike this way... I'm not really going to get a bike!
-
Cheers for that, but I have no money at all and most of the bits I have need replacing etc etc... So i'm gonna try and get a complete bike somewhere on finance... :D Big crack appeared when i did a foot plant on a flat bank! :S
-
Everyones quick to comment on the looks of that frame with comments of "thats rancid" etc etc But is there really a major difference between this and this You have to admit... theres a similarity!
-
Agreed, we shouldn't get caught up with how things look... however this thread is titled "Echo Hi Fi, Built! - hmmm, loverly." So the topic is about the looks aswell as the performance and in my opinion the looks are quite shocking! However, in my defence on the function over form part... I find these long bikes feel like trying to ride a 12foot ladder... or an ironing board... Hmm. Forget I said anything... "LONG LIVE LONG LOW AND SILVER" :S

Touché ;)

Looks pretty damn good to me :S I'm signed up ;)

Sounds a lot like an advert for oxfam to me! Seriously though, I agree with Brisa... When I'm sorted out on broadband and can actually download videos at quicker than 1kb or summit ;) I'll certainly be using and donating to Trials-Shack. Personally I feel that a subscription is the only way forward... It's a service and for it to remain a top quality service we should have to pay. Maybe you should make a little poll Simon? To get everyones views on whether they would be willing to pay... and the maximum willing to part with. (It would however be a good idea to keep the donations system I think)

EDITED If you want any of the Jersey guys to get in contact with you butcha87 just pm me and i'll pass it on to them :S Cheers, Sam

Save up your money and upgrade the parts that either break or don't function to a standard you want... Why replace a lightbulb if it hasn't blown?
