The was sweet... Barspin, especially so!
-
Eugh! I don't WANT to wait 11 minutes and 21 seconds for processing! Edit: You have some seriously elegant climbing skills Monster.
-
Whatever it looks like... it also looks like pure evil If it's not the lead baddie in the next transformers movie, they're making those movies wrong. (Note: I not really a fan of them either way - but that thing deserves to be in there.)
-
Hadn't even thought about flatlanders... Haha. How do you mean trials effects BMX? Do you tend to concentrate on going big (I understand it's from a rolling start, in this case ), rather than more... BMXy stuff?
-
It's pretty nice. I was surprised at just how much longer the extra 10mm made it feel. Got it 'cause I thought... ah - 10mm won't notice, it'll feel the same as the comp. Not so. Was a bit weird to start with, but I'm liking it now.

I'm really making myself look stupid, aren't I :$ I meant this video: And upon watching it, I realise I remembered the bike differently to how it actually is. I thought it was one the same as Rowan Johns in the video - guess not. Being that I still don't know - what is this one? Or is it a later model pure?
-
Would you class yourself as more creative/imaginative when riding than people who started their cycling life with trials? Do you all ride 24"s/streety stocks? I've been sat watching BMX videos for the past half hour - and even the hyper-pro's have lots of lines that are literally on curbs in their professionally shot videos. Don't get me wrong - it's impressive stuff being done on those curbs - but you must be more creative than the average trials rider to be able to come up with all that... Or is that just a perk of the style of riding? I'd be interested to hear from people who are - and I don't know how to say this without making it sound like only egocentrics will reply - people who are good on a BMX, but can also ride a compy/TGS rig pretty well.
-
For real?! I could've SWORN they had smaller tubes than that! Haha. Show's how un-old school I am Always did like them ever since that Danny Mac video with the screamo - shame I can't identify them
-
Very nice video. Also - was Rowan Johns on a new prototype? Looks nice.
-
If you want want those cranks, though - you can always just put a 1 tooth bigger sprocket on the back for the same effect. I reckon shorter cranks feel nicer - but the easier gearing does allow higher/bigger hops.
-
I didn't see any particularly "sciencey" words in there, to be honest. Also - to counter the less leverage - just lighten the gear ratio. I don't ride a stock, but I've had 170s on a mod, and shorter cranks with a lower gear just seems nicer to ride, for me. ie - I'd rather ride a stock with 158mm cranks and 18:16 than 175mm cranks on 18:15.

Would be cool man. Give me a ring if you do - though ring anyone who's number you have, I suppose. Nevermind.
-
'Cause that's when normal people go out riding Also - being that riding in the dark is more difficult - daylight hours are starting to present issue (but we always have met at 11, so I guess that won't count ) I thought you were Paul
-
I can't believe how much power you Russians seem to pack. Like someone else said though... Would like a bit more tech stuff - though I'm not gonna whinge. There was enough in there to motivate me for a ride
-
Second clip was THE clip, for me. Wicked looking park - how many times have you been asked why your BMX has big wheels? Edit: Once before you sent me a whole host of music... Could you send me an updated list? Last few mini-videos have shown me you have exquisite taste.
-
That was COOL. Not a massive fan of the music - but it worked! Love it.
-
Coooooooool. I guess you'e a lot more photogenic than I Any word on the clips? Video floats my boat much more than pictures.
-
I guess it wasn't the most difficult thing for you in all those clips - but that G-turn to footjam whip was VERY cool.
-
If I could be as comfortable on a bike like that as I am on my mod, and enjoy the different style of riding as much - and if you asked £550 (possibly £600, if you get a few people interested) in return for it, I'd give happily it. That is beautiful. Sadly, the first two of the above circumstances stand no more than a .05% chance of happening I LOVE the way oldschool bikes look, but hate the way they ride. Edit: But with a proper seat
-
Unless they have different head angles (thus effecting the reach) - they're not that different. They probably won't ride all that different, as a result. If you go for lightweight, pick the lighter one. If you're not bothered, pick the one you think looks the best! Hehe. Await some ACTUAL responses though. I've never ridden either of them. Maybe one has a tendency to crack or something.

What cranks do you have? Some cranks have a longer threaded section than others.

Staying alive through your [descendant's] blood? Damn... I knew someone would turn it religious. I think "preservation of the species" is a catch-all. Preserving yourself allows you to procreate more in the future, so self-preservation is included. I guess this makes homosexuality a defect among the species... Maybe some sort of psychological problem? If you're not interested in the opposite sex, you won't have procreational sex, meaning you're holding the species back. Haha. But then again... We're such a plentiful species, it could be argued we've evolved OUT of the need to procreate, which opens us out to offspring-less relations.

Hence the further explanation. I couldn't think how to word it. I'm beginning to think I should've used the word "intuition" (or even "hunch", for f**k's sake ) in my first post, rather than "instinct"
-
I hate to do this, but yes damnit - of course it is!
-
How are you editing your posts without the thing at the bottom coming up? That's twice I've read a post, left the thread and come back to find an extra bit. Instinct is something you do without thinking. A reflex is an action your body takes without even asking the brain. You can choose not to act on an instinct, whereas you cannot stop a reflex action (unless you try REALLY REALLY hard... like keeping your hand in a fire until you start burning. A reflex is to pull your hand off something hot before you get damaged) Fear is an instinct, I suppose. Flinching from an incoming fist is a reflex.
